I was at a function earlier today and bumped into a guy I know who is a ManU(re) supporter and has close links with the club. I happened to ask what all this baloney is about Baines and he replied "the clubs have been talking for over 6 months"!! He did say though he didn't expect him to sign if it was only as cover for Evra. He seemed more convinced Utd are going to sign RVP and apparently first approached Arsenal over a year ago! Somebody he knows at Arsenal has told him they do not want any more of their players going to City and if he is heading to Manchester, would (with obvious reluctance) prefer him to go to Utd. I guess what we can take from this is that if Utd pay in excess of £20M for RVP + big wages, can they really afford the £16M+ for Baines? I think most Utd fans would love RVP and Baines at OT but would concede that it's their midfield that needs strengthening. Anyway, just thought I'd pass this on. BlueTone

Back man utd to win league they will sign RVP as a major statement of intent I know odds won't be good but you can get 5/2 in some places RVP and Rooney = deadly

Are you sure, Ed025? It's 1:30pm according to the club website and Sky Sports.

Think the Pienaar deal will be complete by Thursday. In regards to a striker i wouldnt mind seeing Nicolas Bendtner. Should Caroll go back to Newcastle who's to say Demba Ba wouldnt consider us if we had the 7m for the release clause. Talk of him going to Chelsea seems to have died down and he was playing out of position after the Cisse arrival. Just an idea... {Ed025's Note - do you realy want bendtner?...hes pants..

I dont think think hes all that bad, he doesnt suit Arsenals style i think he would do well with Bains and Pienaar putting the crosses in, only has to be a short contract anyway he is hardly flooded with offers {Ed025's Note - theres a reason for that..

How much would John Guidetti cost Ed? Just think he would be an excellent addition as City clearly dont need him.

I believe Crouch was Stokes' top scorer and player of the year for them? Why on earth would they want to sell him? He would cost a fortune to us. Not that I think we want him.

Regarding the stream from Everton website last night.

I work with a lot of City fans and on the last game of the season they where banging on, rightly so, about the match but I never got to see it. So I searched YouTube to no avail and ended up going on City's website to see for myself.

Well................

What a website, video player is half the size of the screen before "full screen" Picture quality was HDish, very easy to navigate and no need to be a member to watch the videos.

Now I'm no expert, but SURELY we can find a few Geeks to sort ours the f**k out.

In contrast ours is blue square prem.

You're saying it's just a rumour but when you say "just to let you know guys Baines will be a last day deal" that makes it sound like you think 1) baines is definitely going and 2) its definitely happening on the last day.
Well, I think that it won't happen and it definitely won't happen on the last day.
As on this site we seemed to have agreed to stop Baines rumours, you are either a r/s, a manc, or someone trying to stir up trouble.

Baines is going nowhere, i think united only have a passing interest in him and they will never meet evertons valuation

We don't have to buy a new rb! hibbert was poor yesterday admittedly, but he is normally quality every game. Just because he has an off game DOES NOT mean that we need to replace him! If we replaced a player every time they had a bad game, we'd have a different XI every transfer window!
