Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

If Bily gets sold as is somewhat expected then I suspect we'll see Gueye a lot more next season. I think Vellios will probably be on the bench most of the time, and may get a game in the Carling Cup and such. {Ed025's Note - if we dont sign anyone...expect the youngsters to play a big part in our season..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I think Vellios is going to be great when he gets a few more games

Agree0 Disagree0

Gueye is looking good for a breakthrough season next year, if his pre-season goes well. For that reason I don't think we should spunk the money made from the yobo, yak and vaughan transfers all on a winger, gueye needs to be given his chance first.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haven't seen enough of Vellios to make a proper judgement yet, but the early signs are good.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't want to speculate on Vellios, as I didn't watch him enough, but Gueye IMO has potential to be better than average. If we will sell Bilyaletdinov (hopefully) with a proper pre-season he will have a decent shot of being a starter. {Ed025's Note - it looks....at the moment...that we will need all our squad to play a part this season..

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2011 23:02:02
I believe the main reason we get off to a bad start every season is the lack of new faces, we miss that spark and freshness of a new signing. It would give the team a huge boost I think. {Ed025's Note - i think so too

Believable2 Unbelievable0

A decent quality signing or a sturridge/ canales loan move will get the fans fired up for next season {Ed025's Note - amen to that..

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes might think with all the injured players back and the youngsters coming through that the squad is good enough {Ed025's Note - he will say that, because he is loyal...but you cant tell me...that he would,nt want a few big signings..

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets not panic, the transfer window is open till the end of august, plenty of chance for moyes to do his wheeling and dealing {Ed025's Note - i know mate...but all the pasties..are going fast!, and we dont want to end up with a sausage roll..

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2011 22:45:58
I would rather us sign no-one then bedtner, long or any other straw newspapers are clutching at (except N'zogbiaof course)
I believe DM will surprise the doubters with a couple of shroud signings near the close window, watch this space...
IMWT COYB {Ed025's Note - any signing...would be a good signing..but if moyes does,nt think they will improve the squad..then they are not coming..

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Bendtners attitude and strike rate is not good enough, i would prefer we gave velios chance to compete with saha and beckford next season

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh jeez' - do you mean that bloke with a beard from Turin?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope some how we do sign N'Zogbia and we swap Billy for Aiden McGeady Imagine it would be a dream for Saha, Cahill, Fellaini.

Howard
Coleman Distin Jags Baines

McGeady Fellaini Arteta N'Zogbia

Cahill

Saha {Ed025's Note - mcgeady instead of osman?......i think you over-estimate mcgeady......for me, hes not all that..

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Tbh i think if n'zogbia and everton meet in this transfer window, its a succesful one {Ed025's Note - he would be a quality signing..

Agree0 Disagree0

For me osmans got to start, you can't drop him after his form in the second half of last season, he works hard, gets goals and gets everyone around him playing {Ed025's Note - i agree...but he has got to maintain that level, in every game.....no more excuses!

Agree0 Disagree0

I want to keep Bily now, after seeing him play more central he is very good. Perfect position for him, range and vision. {Ed025's Note - a few people have said this....but im not sure...if you are a good player, you will do the basic,s right..for me...he falls short of the mark!

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't agree with you about Mc Geady have you seen him play? Clips on YouTube. 2 quality wingers would be amazing. We did it with kanchelskis, limpar {Ed025's Note - i have talked with a lot of people about him..a lot of celtic fans, were glad to see the back of him...if hes not good enough, for the SPL.....hes not good enough for us!

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2011 21:42:06
i think wigan should swap us nzogbia for yakubu an yobo the yak an yobo are quality signings for a club like wigan {Ed025's Note - not a bad shout that mate...but dave whelan likes money...in fact...he loves it

Believable0 Unbelievable0

This has been said a few times and it might be a good deal for both clubs and the 3 players {Ed025's Note - i would bite their hand off!,,

Just had a look on Everton website store. No Rodwell on list of names to put on replica shirts? {Ed025's Note - some reckon he is waiting for the No 4 shirt..when yobo goes....others reckon it means he is on his way out? to be honest....im not sure...we will have to wait and see on this one..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I really think that the only business we might do is a striker on loan. What do you think about wellbeck on loan ed? I know a few sunderland fans that rate him highly. Or do you think we should maybe blow whatever budget we have on long who was great at reading last season?? {Ed025's Note - for me...i would take a punt on long, cos i think he is more of a moyes type player. wellbeck would also be a good addition to the squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lad it was in the echo yesterday that you cant get rodwell yak and yobo

Agree0 Disagree0

Ferguson has stated Welbeck won't be going out on loan as he thinks he'll play a big part in their first team, so sadly that's off limits. {Ed025's Note - dont believe everything fergie says.....he said he would,nt be leading the reindeer on santas sleigh last year...but he did..

With the squad we have, a good pre season and the progression of some of the better youth players im facing this season with optimism. I think we genuinely have a great chance to get a european spot.
If we get off to a good start, is there really any reason why we cant compete? I dont think so.
Im talking about the team we have
Not the board, not Bill and not players we dont have.
We have some of the most sought after players in England, and some of the best rising stars too
So lets hear you. Why not?
COYB {Ed025's Note - why not indeed...i think we have a really competative squad..and yes we can compete for a european spot..one good quality signing though, and we could aim even higher!..thanks for this post mate its really cheered me up...well done..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

While keeping all our best players is probably a priority for us, you always need a few new players to freshen things up and put pressure on certain players who might be a bit cosy in their position. Without doubt we need a winger and a striker, minimum. {Ed025's Note - in a perfect world...you are dead right...but at the moment...the club are being very quiet..make your own mind up why..

Agree0 Disagree0

No problem at all, as long as we can guarantee no injuries.... {Ed025's Note - lois saha....said he agrees with you..

Agree0 Disagree0

I do think yeah with a bit of luck on the injury front we will be ok. There is some competition for places, maybe not as much as we would like but enough to keep the lazy ones on there toes. {Ed025's Note - i get the distinct impression......people think we are not signing anyone?..

Agree0 Disagree0

For every season that we fail to compete in the transfer market, our more established players get another year older. I'm all for giving younger players a chance, but will we have 5 or 6 who will make the top grade in the next couple of years when the likes of Distin, Neville, Saha, Cahill etc are getting past it? We may have a good youth set up but it's a big ask and a major gamble if that's the policy. {Ed025's Note - you speak a lot of sense my friend...great post..

Agree0 Disagree0

They say it every year that it won't be bad at all and we have a good squad which is closely knit but they miss the simple point that you need to freshen things up always. New players coming in always try to make an impression. If we don't sign a good forward then we'll again have to rely on Cahill's 9 or10 goal tally and then since either Saha or Beckford will play up top then maximum of 15 goal tally from them since Saha will be injured again. You're looking at the same mid field and there won't be any competition for places either in there.

Arteta 29
cahill 31
Distin 33
Neville 34
Osman 30
Saha 32

The older they get, lesser effective they will get. Cahill will however keep heading them home 9 or 10 times a season but we need to add on that. Osman is at his peak and that may be over in a year or two. {Ed025's Note - good post mate..i agree with all that...we do need a signing or 2, all the top teams invest, and if we dont..we will fall behind..

Agree0 Disagree0

The RS won the champions league with a much worse squad than we have. Im not saying we will be unbeatable but in comparison we have a good squad. {Ed025's Note - i agree ..nice one

Agree0 Disagree0

Our starting XI is absolute quality, but our squad is paper thin, we need depth which we won't gain without signings. {Ed025's Note - you are right mate..

i have just watched the dispatches program, (how to buy a football club) wow there are some real shady buisnessmen out there and looks like alot of people who are already involved in clubs are also on there to make some big money quick, we need to be very carefull what we wish for, the program said out of the 24 championship clubs only 7 owners were uk based, the other 18 clubs owners were either a foriegn group, unkown or dead??
the premier league clubs, there were only 5 who were uk based (yes we are one of them). at 1 point they asian buisnessmen are throwing clubs around as if they are poker chips, its unbelieveable, but worth a watch.

Yobo to fenerbache is off because the situation in turkey
If no reasonable offers come in for yak before the end of this month it is very likely he might stay, as moyes believes there is no point spending what little money they have on a championship quality striker who won't improve the squad, he will look to rotate and mix yak/beckford/saga/vic/gueye next season, there will be maybe one or two signings, most likely defensive cover, don't get your hopes up for the big money striker, it's the same each year I'm not too worried, just hope saha stays fit {Ed025's Note - if saha, is not fit...then i am worried....becks will do well this season, but to ask him to lead the line, without help...is asking too much, it would mean us relying on yak & anichebe to step up to the plate....and personally...unless they change their attitude..i doubt they will!

Jack Rodwell has delivered an acerbic critique of his Everton career and accepted that he must start justifying his reputation. {Ed025's Note - i believe that he must justify the faith ..and money...that everton have invested in him...and would be interested to know ..when & where it was delivered?

This comment taken from Man U Site "Official Ashley young twitter account, he twitted You cannot buy a Everton shirt with the name 'Rodwell' on the back? just saying folks. keep ur eyes peeled ;) could this mean he's next for united?"

I have checked this on the everton fc shop online, & Rodwell's name isn't available. if he goes lets hope we can have some decent replacements. What you think Ed? {Ed025's Note - if i was david moyes...i would insist...that all money accrued from player sales...be made available for new signings...and that nothing less would suffice...

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Waiting for the Yobo sale so can have the No 4 shirt

Agree0 Disagree0

You would imagine that his name would still be available to put on your shirt. As you can have seperate name and numbers on the back of your shirt

Agree0 Disagree0

Really?? just checked his offical account and no where on it? how would he know honestly. Ed why u let these people post on this {Ed025's Note - this is..a rumour site mate.....i cant check the authenticity of every post!...take a chill pill....its not really a big deal..

As it say's it's takin from the Man U Rumour Page so chill. & i have been on the EFC Shop site and NO RODWELL available for the back of your shirt ....idoit people tut tut

We have a really good selection of players - and our 1st eleven (plus 3-4 good quality subs) is good enough to beat anyone - you only have to look at some of the results last season.

I think one of the main things lacking is self belief - if we aim for 7th we'll probably come around 7th. Aim for the top Blues We need to go out every game like United do, shoulders back, look em in the face and aim to win it - and go full on for 90+ mins until we get the win.

Some of our players last season looked lazy and to me that's our main problem. Thinking that if we just 'go through the motions' our 'quality' will beat lower teams over the 90mins. But it didn't happen did it?

Some of the lower half teams were coming and out-fighting our players. We were dismal in some games. Players like Arteta were going nowhere near 50:50 balls. They wanted to win without breaking sweat against 'inferior' teams and then couldn't understand it when it wasn't happening.

If Arteta isn't prepared to put in a full shift and fight for the ball then we need to let him go. Even Fellaini had a few dodgy games were he didn't really go for it. Coleman needs to step up significantly if he's going to make the first team - his head has dropped.
Billy can smash a great shot but loses the ball more often than not through not being committed in tackles.

When we were losing in the first dozen games it was becasue our 'best players' weren't doing the hard yards in midfield.
They only got up for games when the crowd got angry about something and started chanting. Then all of a sudden they were chasing down balls and getting moving. They need to do that right from the off - not wait for an 'incident' to get them motivated. For goodness sake - they get paid 10s of thousands for what they do in that 90 minutes - and sometimes they look like they can't be bothered.
Moyes needs to give some of them a rocket.
Players like Ozzie, who try hard, were showing some of the better paid players up.
Aim for the top and try to win every game should be in their minds every time they step over the white line.

They should be gutted when they lose and hacked off with a draw. Go for the 3 points every game, right from the off.
Come on Blues

PE4

(I also think our warm up routine is not the best. A couple of seasons ago I saw Liverpoll's pre-match warm up - lots of quick triangles in a smallish group of 7 or 8 trying to get the ball off each other in tight quick moving situation and I thought it looked really good. Then their players were ready for that scrapping for the ball as soon as the whislte went, whereas ours had just been knocking the ball about and weren't. Perhaps the coach could have a look at that?) {Ed025's Note - i would like to answer all your points.....but i go on holiday in 3 weeks!....my radical solution, to team laziness, would be to have all players on £15,000 basic wage...plus £15,000 per point....if we win the players get £60.000...draw..£30,000...lose £15,000....the amounts may not be correct, but the incentive is.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Hi Ed - it's a slow day at work ;)

The bonus incentive scheme is good but players and their agents don't sign up to that do they? - so we're stuck with the present pay arrangements. At least if some of our 'best players' recognised that effort and committment were sometimes lacking and that was a key problem, it would be step in the right direction. At the momemt we lose some games through laziness and it isn't mentioned as a reason - they just scratch their heads and wonder why 'it isn't happening'.

Get them scrapping for every ball right from the off - and the crowd will do their bit to help - right from the off.

I also think we need to get the crowd gee'd up right from the start - not sure how - but a noisy crowd seems to lift the players.
How can we do this?
Bloke with drum? (can be annoying) Or how about 'paying' cheerleader kind of people to stand at the front and get everyone going in the minutes before a game? (Pay 6 people with loud impressive voices (3 each end) 50 pounds per game to get chants started in the first ten minutes and throughout the game.
not a big amount for the club, but it could it make the difference to the flat atmosphere we sometimes get at the start of a game?

What about 'feeding back' the crowd chant through speakers at the back of lower gladys - so it amplifies it a bit?

Everyone likes a good chant n sing - but they don't want to 'go first' or look daft etc so it can sometimes feel a bit quiet.

The players seem to go a bit flat when it's quiet - so why don't they think of ways to help this side of things along a bit?

It hacks me off when I have to listen to the away nobbies singing "your support is effing sh&te" - but sometimes we are a bit quiet. Something could be done about that.

We can't fix the money situation but there other things that can be fixed.
Increased effort by players and fans being one of them.

What about a suggestion box on the club website - where fans can submit ideas - and they all get looked at by a team of people in the club - and the best ones put to the manager/owners etc?

Here's one - why do we never keep one man up front for opposition corners?
We could do with a small fast guy (no use in box anyway) standing in the same place so that anyone clearing the ball knows he's always in same place ready to receive a hoof out? Time after time we're all packed into our box - it get's cleared but comes straight back again from one of the two players they've left back? It seems obvious - but we never do it.

(Plus the catering could be improved) {Ed025's Note - if i was everton football club....i would hire you,as a motivational speaker and trouble-shooter...you would be a great asset to the club...now get back to work..

Recently i've considered actually wanting to keep Rodwell instead of selling. His attitude his brilliant, he keeps saying how he wants a big season with US etc. Whilst Johnny is saying bla bla bla about CL football etc. I'd rather cash in on Johnny, Yak and Yobo atm. {Ed025's Note - its not about the players...its about the money, if we were offered say £20m for rodders....or £12m for johnny...i would sell rodders......its purely financial..

Believable1 Unbelievable2

I, likewise have also had a change of heart regarding Rodwell, initially I was thinking £20m to invest in several players for the sale of one would be good but I think he will come good this season and continue to improve. He will also eventually slot in at central defence which will be the future of the squad. Now onto the point of Heitinga, if someone offered £12m I'd bite their hands off. I don't think Heitinga is worth that based on his performance last season. He has never really shown £12m worth of quality, I'd rather invest any money from him into a striker to move the team forward.

Has anyone noticed how the senior players are all being very complimentary about the young players that are at the club. I wonder if this is a media strategy handed down from above to emphasise that we may not necessarily need to have any new signings. Whilst Moyes has always promoted young players where possible, he is naturally conservative with them and tends to select more senior players over them even if it means they are out of position. With all this "bigging up" of the young players, I wonder if that is with Moyes blessing or if this is being co-ordinated by the media officers at Everton. Without any possible signings or news coming out from the club, I suppose they have to find something to talk about

Believable1 Unbelievable0

It may just be because it's true. Moyes bought Gueye and Vellios because he saw some potential in them. We had those signings last summer but didn't see much of them - maybe that year of development means they're ready now.
Gueye looks like a great player to me.
If we'd signed him this summer we'd be exited about him - but we don't buy overpriced big names, we buy cheap with potential - and these are two players with that. Plus a couple of others coming through as well.
I think we'll do well this season.

PE4 mk {Ed025's Note - i like your thinking mate.....i dont believe a word of it.....but i like your thinking...

Question for the Everton lads or editor? Is it possible to purchase a Rodwell shirt? If you could let me know that would be great thanks.

Sydney!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I'm sure they'll be avalailable soon, as far as I believe they were removed off the website due to him getting a new shirt number, I think once Yobo is sold, you will be able to purchase your shirt with Rodwell 4.
