Hoping it wasnt just me that watched BBC Northwest before. In a pre match interview on Goodison(not sure who it was, but he seemed to be close to the club), he pointed out our activity this summer, praising the two early signings, Mirallas coming in, "AND another player theyve signed today". Any info on that ed? {Ed025's Note - it may be barkhuizen from blackpool mate..

To a man we were brilliant tonight. Felly was off the scale, what a performance. Great start to the season blues (makes a change). Also we haven't really tested naisy yet or even seen miralles play yet! let alone the youngstrs in the wings! oh what a season this is going to be!! couple more cheeky loans to bulk out the squad and champions league here we come!!

thats what i was talking about the noise, the atmosphere, the passion, teams will have seen that, and will be scared to death to come to goodison, if we can perform to that standard on a regular basis we are going to be looking down on a lot of teams this season. the whole team was outstanding tonight and fellaini was almost god like in his genius, he made utd look ordinary and how many players have done that recently? one poster said 25m i wouldn't take double that! wow what a start lets keep up the noise, lets keep the faith, lets help our goodison glory boys to our best ever season in the premier league,if you believe it it will come! Well fellow Blue Noses, Its been a long Summer but were ready to kick off yet another season in the top flight of english football. Despite heavy rumours of Moyes to Spurs, Baines to Man U, Fellaini to Chelsea etc, we have managed to keep the spine of our team together as well as some very exciting additions to our squad. I for one was sorry to lose Cahill due to what he has done for our club but agree it was time to move on. Rodwell was more suprising but again I think we needed the money more and it was the right decision all around.
I have got a really good feeling about tonight and the season ahead.

Moyes has said himself, that that one more player will arrive before the window shuts, Now! there has been a lot speculation about who this could be, Philips, niang, owen, johnson,... previosly i was convinced johnson was his top target, but with the arrival of mirallas,I think he may try to get another midfielder! somebody with promise!..I believe this may be Tom ince, But I must stress this is not a rumour but just a gut feeling! just think he could be a Engand international in a couple years! if moyes was allowed to mentor him! if he brought him now, his value may treble in two or three years!.......jmff

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Adam Johnson now looking 'Unlikely' with the citezens receiving money offers, how ever may see a loan as a more attractive option with Johnson returning a better player.

Owen would most probably sign on a payp deal, covering for Jelavic, Naismith and Mirallas.

Niang seems to have gone queit, or is it just the calm before the storm? If we were to lure him to goodison it would be a fee around 6m with extra clauses.

Landon Donovan so much talk prevwindow about him, however nothing materialised, he will however be back here in Jan on loan ready to have another crack at the prem!

Tim Cahill simular to Landon, he will return on-loan for a period of time

Other loans, my reckoning is Da vid Moyes will attempt to bring in 2 loan players, a defender and maybe a midfeilder, the possibilty of a goalkeeper shouldn't be ruled our either

Looking at our first 10 games i think a good points target for us is 23pts... here's how I think we will get them...

Man U - 1
Villa - 3
West Brom - 3
Newcastle - 3
Swansea - 0 (away and look good)
Southampton - 3
Wigan - 3
QPR - 3
R/S - 3
Fulham - 1

Total Points -23, If we play like we finished last season i don't think this is too unrealistic maybe not quite like above but something similar, we have a harder run into Xmas so is important to make these first 10 games count!

Thoughts?

I think moyes will play mirallas on the wing to add some much needed pace to our midfield! Naismith and jelavic have been linking up well in preseason so they will be deadly in the league (hopefully) but moyes has the option to swap Naismith and mirallas around if need be! Just thought I'd put it to you lads. If we needed a goal with 10 minutes to go and it was between Owen or anichebe to bring on as a sub. Who would you pick. Mad john

Owen if fully fit

Agree0 Disagree0

Very good question that. Vic has a excellent record coming off the bench but Owen is more of a poacher to be perfectly honest I don't know my decision would be purely based on tactics in the game if we were all over the opposition and defending deep I would say Owen if we needed to bring others into play and change the game I would go for vic what about you ?

Ed I hate to say it Laaaa but were signing Owen I can't see the value of it myself but it is defo going threw from what I hear there is no worries over his medical don't no how that is this is a dead sert ed I would not give false hope to a fellow toffee not that Owen is much hope like haha I sent u the Naismith rumour the day before he signed from what I hear owen will be on the pitch 2mrw with meralles at half time.... LIAM!! {Ed025's Note - if it happens liam, i will still give him my full support , when he puts on the shirt, i just dont know what he will bring to the table..

Believable0 Unbelievable1

You sent the Naismith rumour the day before he signed ?? The ed's told us that rumour 2 months before he signed !

Agree0 Disagree0

He 'll bring a phisio table ed ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't see it happening myself but if it does he still has quite a bit to offer, he will score goals and those who are old enough to remember, we got behind Peter Beardsley and Gary Ablett even Kevin Sheedy come across the park so he will get the support and respect that any Everton player would deserve. On a final point if he scored against Liverpool he become an instant hero. Paul p

Agree0 Disagree0

If it is based on a pay as you play/score then who cares. If he works hard at training, creates competition, and he couldnt be restricting funds for other signings if he only gets paid if he plays... so will he make the first team better? No... but will he make the squad better... Probably

Agree0 Disagree0

I would say probally about 75% of us dont really want owen or need him but if we do sign him i would support him and support moyes for bringing him in, i have a sneaky feeling that liverpool might try for him only because they need a forward and owen does get ye goals. Terry blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Just a derby goal will do me ed and of corse mate any1 in a blue shirt will always get are full support COYB.... LIAM!!

Owen is the striker. Its a given, moyes tracked him for sometime. Owen cares more about his stables an horses. Everton perfect location, an he still gets to play in the prem

Believable0 Unbelievable1

I just wish they would announce where he is going, the rumours of him coming to us have been around for ages, i still think stoke is a possibility

Frankly I couldnt care less if owen signs or not with jelly naismith and mirallas he aint gonna get a game anyway, not even as a sub because even big vic is better than him,..
What im sure everyone wants to here about is adam johnson, well not now you dont su derland have lodged a 10 million bid, the only reason I can see him choosing us over sunderland (his home town) is that he dosent want to move house and should he establish himself he wouldnt have to move back should city want him...
Also mirallas great signing shame hes missed the deadline for the game but we can beat the mancs without him..
He will also be welcomed at half time similair to jelly in january
So what do you reckon on niang, I think its a gamble paying 6 million for a 17 year old.....

I think Adam Lallana would be a good signing. He supports Everton and is a talented player

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Think he'd cost too much, really rate him, watched him all last season and the end of season before that, and true that he's an avid toffee, even if his mate Lambert's a kopite ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Cracking little player, Southampton did brilliantly to keep hold of him there have been a lot of enquiries for him over the years apparently.

Everton haven't got the slightest interest in signing Michael Owen whilst he demands Prem Lg star wages to keep his horse business going

He's worth £39 million according to Forbes mate
