Haven't posted in a while but everton looking at defour centre mid and yet another Belgian! Just a rumour or is there something in it? Also loving the football at the moment lets just hope we can keep it going and maybe add a bit more strength to the squad in January also come on moyse hurry up and sign a new contract! COYB

Where did you hear about Defour?

Lovely player (not in a 'gay' way) and would fit nicely.

Keith EFC.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets hope our current form does catch the eye of quality players like defour. It's about bloody time! Lets enjoy the ride before the doom mongers say all our best players are going in January! Blue Lee

Agree0 Disagree0

If we keep up with this form, like you said, hopefully quality players will take notice. If we are still in contention for top 4, maybe more ;) then would love to see us go out and really signal our intentions with a quality signing or two, we should have money left over from the Rodwell sale, and there will be cheap options available and with Moyes who knows who he will find. Add to the fact that Donovan may be coming in January as well, which will only boost the morale and spirit of the club and of course add more depth and quality to the side.

Still find it hard to believe how 1 Jordan Henderson can get you a Kevin Mirallas, Nikica Jelavic, Steven Pienaar and Darron Gibson, with a bit of change as well. Amazing stuff from Moyes, those signings has transformed the way we play.

It has come to the point where actually watching Everton is a pleasure, the way we are playing football deserves Champions League and even more. COYB!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually, the rumor is "if fellaini leave, we'll look at defour", witch is complete BS.

Agree0 Disagree0

Transfer market web.com I think not sure how reliable it is like..

I'd take Abou Diaby if Felli left. Closest thing to a like for like replacement we're gonna get IF he does

OK fellow evertonians whats the feeling on the proposed football quater on stanley park. A lot of r/s groups under the banner of all together now are keen on the idea. I am against it myself because the r/s are now going to develope anfeild and not build a new stadium on stanley park. I beleive along with the freinds in liverpool council they are trying to take away any chance of Everton building a new stadium on stanley park in the future. We could get investment in any time and dont forget liverpool council denied Evertons application to build a stadium on stanley park and granted the r/s permision. I am right behind the justice for the 96 campaigne but i would not trust them with a joint venture. thgfest

Believable2 Unbelievable3

If Liverpool stay at Anfield, we won't be able to build a ground in Stanley Park anyway, as the stadiums would be too close together. Liverpool are the only club who would have got planning permission I think.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said from our resident red sh*te spy in our midst. thgfest

Agree0 Disagree0

Goodison is closer to stanley park on the blue side so why would the grounds not be to close if liverpool built a ground the reason liverpool got planning permission and Everton didnt was because the planning commitee are all season ticket holders at anfeild, this could be challenged as it was clearly biased and therefore illeagle. thgfest

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone get your facts right, Everton only inquired about building a ground on Stanley park. They never applied for planning permission. All you have to do is go on Liverpool council's web sit and see who has applied and been granted and who has been denied..It was after we inquired that Liverpool applied and was granted.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for those comments from the unamed rep of lfc and the liverpool council but to get back to the main subject if lfc develope anfield and dont go ahead with building a ground on stanley park there is no reason to stop EFC building on stanley park if they can raise the funds in the future other than the biased liverpool council. for these reasons I am against any football quarter developement on stanley park. thgfest

Hiya ed's and fellow blue's. Just thought I would comment on our performance on Saturday, really pleased to us playing good football.
We are a threat from the left and the right now and it's pleasing to see as managers know they can stop us if they stop our left side (Pienaar and Baines) but now they have the headache of Mirallas and Coleman and not forgetting Fellaini, Osman and Jelavic down the middle.
I really hope we don't get two or three injuries like we did a few years ago because our squad isn't great in depth of quality.
With Gibson to come back aswell I think we are capable of picking up 6 points in our next 2 games (QPR AND Wigan) and then it's the derby which is always difficult no matter what.

I've heard a few people say now that we're missing Gibbo 2 sure up the defence. I personally don't see him as a lee carsley type player in front of the back 4. I think his best attributes are when he is on the ball, similar to scholes, I do however it will add stability in midfield as he is a top player and is still improving, I did not no how good he was on the ball untill he joined. Anyway thers gona be some competition 4 places when he's fit. Who do u think will miss out? Its gona be Gibbo himself, ossie, nev, mirales or coleman, it's a great problem 2 have tho. IMWT
Gibbo>>> joe Allen anyday.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Joe Allen is a better footballer than Gibson. Gibson has a better shot though.

Mike won the lottery and has become depressed,he had his heart set on the euro millions,,,,,,

Agree0 Disagree0

Answer what Ed025? In my opinion Allen is a better player than Gibson, how does that make me a Liverpool fan? I know you will disagree as you are a big fan of Gibson, and I am not.

Mike {Ed025's Note - i asked whether or not you are a red?

Agree0 Disagree0

Back in the good old days of Gordon Lee we had a player Martin Dobson. He reminded me a lot of Joe Allen. Never gave the ball away. However, he never played a penetrating pass. They were always square passes and back passes. I used to get so frustrated watching him. From the little I have seen of Joe Allen, he seems very similar. Good luck Kopites! {Ed025's Note - i happen to think martin dobbo..martin dobbo..hello..hello..martin dobbo..was a cracker..

Agree0 Disagree0

I am not a red Ed025. And I don't know what Degsy's problem is.

Mike {Ed025's Note - then act like one mike!..support the team, and stop looking for the negatives mate...we are playing great football, 2nd in the league, and everyone is upbeat...except for you!..

Its not just my problem Mike, all you ever do is knock the team and are the most negative man I have ever heard on here, if you really are a blue then for gods sake cheer up man and act like a blue

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough Ed025, but I have only commented on 2 posts today. This one and the one about how many shots we have had. I don't see how that is negative, it was just my opinion and a simple question, that people have pounced on.

Mike {Ed025's Note - mike..saying things like..allen is better than gibbo..is hardly likely to endear you to the other fans mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah Ed, I know. It's just that I've watched a lot of Swansea as my girlfriend is a Swansea fan, so I know how good he is. I was gutted he went to them. I do rate him more than Gibson, and I'm not trying to wind anyone up.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't we evict mike as if it wer big brother {Ed025's Note - im warming to the guy...i think hes just a bit misunderstood..

The lad mike is entitled to his opinion,we all love how everton are playin but i for one,wil not get ahead of myself until xmas at least, football cdan turn around and kick u wen u least expect it so its one game at a time for me,COYB.true blue, efc 4 life

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love Allen in our team, but anyone can't hide the fact he's a good player.

ToffeeMike

Agree0 Disagree0

I am sorry but Joe Allen is so over rated in my books. People mention the fact that his passing success is Xavi or Iniesta-esque, but the fact is, I would say 90+% of those passes are either a simple back pass or a square ball. Anyone can do that. I mean you only have to take a look at the game on the weekend.

Phil Neville played the exact same role as Joe Allen does for Liverpool and he managed a 94% pass success rate. I mean Phil freaking Neville can do what Joe Allen does.

Gibson is more of a goal threat, and he tries to play a pass that can split open defences, not to mention the lad cost 500K as opposed to 15mil.

Gibson all day for me, never understood the hype behind Allen, even at Swansea. {Ed025's Note - allen is a good player, but no better than gibbo. and i agree that stats dont tell the whole story, anyone can pass a square ball to an unmarked man..

Agree0 Disagree0

Gibbo is quality and so under rated, he was a snip a half a million, another Moyes master class, as for Allen he reminds me a lot of good old Vinny Sideways, he keeps the ball well but then again so could my gran when you keep going backwards and sideways!

Mike stop being so negative Jesus I've red sh... Mates who give us more credit than you

Degsy

Degsy, , all I asked was what team has scored the most goals so far. I think that is a fair enough question as to regards shots on goal.

Mike {Ed025's Note - mike...he asked because you never have anything positive to say about the team, even other eds have asked me if you were really an evertonian! We can't all be out of step mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

It was a genuine question ed, I've just re-read it and it does sound like I'm having a go. I never meant it that way though, I was just interested to know.

Why do some people want us to get taken over, great manager/owner, great players, manageable debt, fair play finances coming in soon and we are spot on now.

Let's enjoy what we have as the grass on the other field isn't always greener.

I would love a Ruskie Oligarth to come in but out of all the takeovers only Chelsea and City are true success stories. Birmingham, Blackburn, Liverpool etc etc etc most clubs that get taken over end up getting shafted.

Great to be a blue, wish the league would end right now.
