Hi all I'm new to this page but have been a Everton fan for as long as I can remember I just love everything about the club and what it stands for. Great news about the new investment and here's hoping it bring this great club the rewards we all know it deserves. Also wondering are there any TV channels showing the villa match tonight. For me this season has been a missed opportunity the what could have been will stay with me throughout our pre season. In saying that this season we still have a lot to aim for 5 th spot and the fa cup will be a success but the fact that Man City and Chelsea left the doors open for other teams to win the league this season will haunt me especially when you look at our squad. This is the first time in many seasons I could actually look at our bench during a match and say that's super we have options left right and centre there really strong squad in all. So Roberto did well in that fact but failed on the pitch with his tactics ok give him some money in the summer but if we are dangling around the bottom half by the end of October we have to get rid straight up and out the door with him I really hope he pulls of a remarkable end to the season for us and then in the summer he will be backed by the club in the transfer market like no other Everton manager has ever been in the premier league era so no excuses next season Roberto learn and change.

think robertos stubbornness hasn't helped things but he's getting there, we can still have a good season stef, massive summer ahead for us I think in terms of moshiri and buliding/ keeping the sqaud

id adress the deadwood at the club

Get rid of Chang for sure. I am an expat Evertonian living in Bangkok. and I can tell you they do nothing to promote us. but promote the hell out of Man U. Chelsea. Arsenal. etc.

Spot on Daz. We are so close to a great team, I don't think we need to spend a great deal either. I'd be happy with lenko and Embolo. Begovic would also be great but I'd like to give Robles the chance he's earned to prove himself as our number 1. Integrate a few of our youngsters into the 1st team set up also, but most importantly is to keep hold of our best players. If the shareholders want to splash more cash than needed let's hope it goes towards building Everton up off the pitch commercially and planning a stadium upgrade wether it's redevelop or build elsewhere. I just can't stop smiling coyb.

Hi Ed reading between the lines its looks as though this deal with our new investor has been on the table for over a year, with Bill also having several other offers some worth more than this one, but Bill seems to have put Club before profit to get some one in that can really benefit the Club massively if this is the case Bill is to be congratulated on this it is a fantastic move, your comments Ed, cheers GuernseyBlue.

{Ed025's Note - as you probably know GB im a massive BK fan, for me he is the beating heart of this great club and over the years has taken some terrible stick from so called fans who questioned his motives and have been very abusive, but even though he could have walked away and took the spoils he stayed and steered us through the hard times when most would have took the money and run, he also made a promise that he would only sell when it is right for EFC and has been true to his word, in moshiri i believe we have the perfect guy to move us forward, business acumen and a love for the game will surely see us move forward and be able to compete with the big boys...so i say thanks bill for putting everton first and for your honesty and integrity even if some cant or wont see it..

The Bill Haters must feel a bit embarrassed too now Ed with the news that he could have sold out for more cash 12 months ago, but instead wanted the club in safe hands, never understood the hate he got off the "so called fans" but hopefully they may understand a bit better now, if they don't then who gives a toss as only a tiny proportion anyway.

{Ed025's Note - some people have bad minds degs and think that everyone is on the take, the guy is a gentleman and a true blue mate who lets be honest does not really need the money, he loves the club and has never done anything that would convince me otherwise, its just a shame that some people bad mouth him and some jump on that bandwagon but as you say its only a minority..

agreed e,i am a big bk fan aswell and in my last post I suggested that at our next home game we say thanks to bill by singing his name if kone can get a few lyrics then surley bill deserves a full verse.

I arrived at a game some years ago and BK was parking his car in the Goodisson Road bit by the main stand. A little lad shouted over to him that his Dad had sent him to see him and give him a present. BK walked over and shook the little lads hand. The little lad passed a tie through the railings to BK who looked at it. It was an EFC tie and I stood and watched with interest. BK took his own tie off and in the caar park started to put the new tie on. He looked down aat the little lad and said, "Tell your Dad that I am made up with the present. Tell him I will wear it for the game and it will hopefully bring us luck today". As he walked away, he looked baack and said, "Don't forget to tell your Dad! " The boy said he wouldn't. I knew at that moment that BK was as big a supporter as any other Blue in the ground. I will never say a bad thing about him and neither should any other Blue.

Good story Degsypulford. No doubt about Bill. Never had anything but admiration for the man. The wealth the man posses and he is still a friendly, down to earth type of guy. How many people of his wealth or stature would let on they even heard that little boy never mind have a conversation with him.

Hope he still has a role to play with Everton for some time to come yet.

As ever - but even more so in modern football - it's results that count.
For players that means winning matches and winning trophies.
For managers/ coaches that means recruiting, developing, organising and motivating the players to win.
For owners/ directors/ executives that means providing the finance, infrastructure, and other support to create a winning team of winning players.
If all of the above can be done with "school of science" style on the field PLUS by combining the "people's club" consideration for fans with a global commercial outlook off the field, then so much the better.
On top of all of this should be a cool-headed approach to accountability - not knee-jerk reactions to occasional blips, but a rigorous determination that "nil satis nisi optimum" truly means something at our club.

I think a lot of you mistake criticism of a role for personal attack and that is plainly just as wrong as accusing others. I believe that Bills recruitment of Roberto Martinez was a knee jerk reaction partly due to the fans calling for action and partly due to the way Moyes left and as such it was a mistake. I like many others would love to be proved wrong by Roberto but nearly 3 seasons later I am still waiting.
