i think we should go for carlos vela, he is having a fine year in spain and he is surplus to Arsenals team, could possibly get him on loan or cheap what do you think ed? {Ed001's Note - he wants to stay in Spain, so it might be difficult to get him mate.}

LOOK'S LIKE BILL MIGHT SELL THE ROVER'S TO RAISE THE TRANSFER KITTY. LET'S HOPE WE GET SOME CREATIVE PLAYER'S IN THE SUMMER. {Ed025's Note - i heard that terry duckworth is signing as centreback, norris cole is replacing osman, and were signing..willie ekaslike..

Why the desperate need to get rid of Rodwell. Take him out of midfield and put him in the back four. We would then finally have a centre back who can pass a ball out of defence, instead of just aimlessly punting it down the ground. Dont worry about tackling as petty soon it wont be allowed anyway. {Ed025's Note - i agree..

Believable3 Unbelievable0

The priority is to get rodwell fit and find the best position to play him in, because gibson is ahead of him in the pecking order at the moment

Bez the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Said for the past 12-18 months Rodwell is a CENTRE HALF! Everything about him screams centre bacl, and a quality one aswell, similar to Rio Ferdinand at his best 6-7 years ago.
You watch, we will sell him in the summer to Man United and he will become a centre back for them for years to come.
Why Moyes bought him into the team early and played in centre mid i will never know.
I watch and have done for years reserve games and before Rodwell got into the first team 3 years ago he played centre half with the reserve team and everyone used to comment on how he was years ahead of his age in terms of composure, reading the game and controlling the back line, then all of a sudden he comes into the first team and gets throwing in the middle of the park.
The worst thing he done in a weird way was scoring that goal against Man United because then everyone thought of him as a centre mid. He is not, no matter what Moyes does, he was born to play at the back, trust me, i would love to see him at the back for Everton but i see him leaving soon and being used properly somewhere else

Agree0 Disagree0

THANKYOU! Exactly what this lad said, spot on, couldn't agree more.

He would be a top class CB, has all the qualities to be an England international in that position

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes plays every one out of position thats why we have a bad start each year also coincidently since we have gone on long term flights usa austrailia players are jet lagged

Agree0 Disagree0

We never had bad starts when we just had pre seasons in europe your right

Hope Moyes recalls Bidwell or Garbutt to fill in for Baines instead of putting Neville Left Back!
These two lads are quality, i watch reserves quite a bit and before they went out on loan Garbutt looked quality, plays like Baines {Ed025's Note - that would be a baptism of fire mate..and could destroy a young guys confidence, they have some very good wingers, and i would go for a bit of experience myself..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I dont mean for the Man United match ed, maybe for the last couple of games of the season?
No harm done really, if its nothing games toward the end, maybe wolves and Newcastle last game of the season {Ed025's Note - oh ok mate...then maybe a cameo role from the bench..

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe against some of the other teams, not against united or newcastle atleat anyway, I would put coleman rb with baines being out 1.because we could do with an attacking Fb on the pitch and 2 because we should give him a decent run there before we go splashing out on a new Rb {Ed025's Note - fair comment mate..

With Baines out for the season i'm premusing Neville will play left back, i don't see why Distin can't play there? He played there regulary for Portsmouth, he's quick, strong and has a decent cross.

Team against Man United

Howard

Hibbert Jagielka Heitinga Distin

Coleman Fellaini Gibson Pienaar

Osman
Jelavic

SUBS
Mucha
Neville
Duffy
Gueye
Cahill
Anichebe
Straqualersui

I think we can get a draw sunday

havent posted here for a while but anyway, since baines has gotten injured then personally i would get luke garbutt back as he has been playing brilliantly out on loan and is a gret prospect.
Secondly in the summer i think there are going to be some some good free agents such as moses, hoilet (unlikely), and now i here berbatov. I also think pienaar is a must and if we sell Rodders for about 15 million i think we should go for Adam Johnson or Donovan. Now that we have a goalscorer in Jelavic and the prospect of Barkley I thinh next season will be great. This could possibly be the new team.
GK Howard- who else
RB Hibbo- im waiting for the riot
CB Jags- Could also introduce Duffy
CB Hietinga-solid
LB-Baines- no questions needed
CM Fellani- Best Holding mid
CM Gibbo- has good partnership with felli
RAM Donovan/Johnson- both brilliant
CAM Cahill- but introducing Barkley more
LAM Pienaar- the one and only
ST Jelavic- Goalscoring machine {Ed024's Note - There is plenty of wheeling and dealing that moyes could do in the summer and we have the makings of a very good squad

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think if we can have a couple of new faces in the summer, we can be looking at top 6 next season, pineaar is a must, pranjic would be a good signing and give a few of our promising youngsters a try in the first team

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - pienaar is a must bez your right...pranjic on a free, and donovan would be great for me..

Agree0 Disagree0

I would be tempted to sign a decent quality right back as well ed, hibbert is a grafter, but limited.

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - a right back would be great bez...but the priority for me is a partner for jelly, and a midfielder who can supply the ammo for them..

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love Donovan, pure class, quick, clever, creative, works hard, gives us a different dimension especially breaking forward.
Can't see us getting 15 million for Rodwell, wwe missed the boat with Rodwell, we should of sold last year when teams were prepered to offer 20 mill+ for him. Now with his constant injury's teams arent going to risk it {Ed025's Note - i think he will still be a great player, but see his future as a centre back..

Agree0 Disagree0

Jagelka started out as a right back play him there

Fancy us to nick a draw on sunday!! Just have a feeling, don't know why!
Jelavic to put us in the lead and the mancs to equalise in the last 10 minutes!! {Ed025's Note - its a draw for me as well mate..

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Everton can win if they are positive..I'm hoping Moyes will have his team believing they are gunna win not hoping. RED RUSS {Ed025's Note - i have a feeling that your a closet blue russ..

Agree0 Disagree0

Support Liverpool ed but got a soft spot for Everton. I'm from Merseyside but dont live there anymore as i live up North with the Mrs. RED RUSS {Ed025's Note - i like it mate...theres not many guys like you about russ, reds that come on here are usually abusive, so it makes a change to hear from a true football fan..

Agree0 Disagree0

I know it can get a little childish sometimes i feel in this day of the world fans seem to get more pleasure out of the other team loosing than theres winning. Would also like to thank Everton fans in respecting Hillsborough over the weekend i know they have always supported the 96. Good luck for the rest of the season RED RUSS {Ed025's Note - cheers russ..

Afternoon Fellow Blues and Eds

Having studied the league table and all the permutations possible of qualifying
for the Europa league unless we can
catch the Toon and finish 6th then
qualification is unlikely, as I stated on a previous post to remain 7th and qualify would
take some dramatic turns in form
and would also mean finishing behind
the RS. NOT AN OPTION.

However I have a cunning plan!!

The fair play league still offers up a place in the Europa League.

The EPL Fair play table has us currently in 10th
(above the RS in 11th).

Now points are awarded for positive behaviour of the fans such as applauding good play by the opposition, no swearing, no anti referee comments etc,

so I propose we start on sunday with a
rendition of : -

"Waynes a Jolly Good Fellow",

or
"The Refs a smashing bloke I'd let him date my daughter"

This undoubted show of fair play and being jolly good eggs will move us towards the top of the fair play league and thus Europa League is as good as ours.

Cunning eh!

well fellow blues and eds I'm sure you have some spiffing lines we could sing from now to the end of the season

Big C ; ) {Ed025's Note - thats a tough one big c...you see, i look at fergie, and think...when they were giving out noses, he thought they said roses...and asked for a really big red one!

Gutted about Barnes but it was bound to happen at some point with the amount of games he has played luckily for us it has happened with only a few games left to play! But we managed to comfortabley beat a very good sunderland team without him which was also our highest scoring game of the season so far, so I'm not too worried about going into the last few games without him! Neville can play there no problems! I hope moyes gives Barkley a few games now!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

You're right. It's terrible how much weight he has put on.

I know I'm dreaming but I wish we could spend this transfer window.. We so badly need some attacking players 2 or 3 wingers se what has happend since we have some available this year.. We also need a 2nd stiker and a right back... Anyone got some spare change?
Ed what are your thoughts on most likely player moves... If only we could get 20 million it would all moyes would need as long as he buy good attcking players.
Steven Pienaar/Matt Jarvis
David Hoilett
Adam Johnson

I

Believable4 Unbelievable0

If we can't get Pienaar then Hoilett and Johnson! Maybe a more realistic target is Victor Moses, but wouldn't complain with either of those. If we really want to compete properly for top 6 we'll need another CB/RB as well.

Just thinking about it, its so far out of reach. 1 or 2 good signing would be very helpful still, here the dream team ;)

Howard
New RB Jagielka Heitinga Baines
Johnson Fellaini Gibson Moses
Hoilett
Jelavic

Agree0 Disagree0

A much more likely option is Victor Anichebe unfortunately :( {Ed025's Note - lets hope not..

if this is true about berbatov on free?
we always turn there unwanted into diamonds (apart from neville) he would link up good with jelavic 2 none greedy players love to score and are acrobatic!

19 Apr 2012 10:29:04
Right guys this may be a bit controversial and I should get some good arguments back with this one, this is what I think our players are currently worth on the market taking into account contract remaining, games played, age, premier league games played etc etc

Howard - 6 million
Hibbert - 2 million
Jags - 7 million
Distin - 2 million
Heitinga - 8 million
Bainesee - 15 million (easily)
Felliaini - 15 million
Ossie - 4 million
Gibson - 8 million and rising (bargain)
Pienaar - not ours yet but 6 million+
Coleman - 3 million
Neville - 3 million
Jelavic - 12 million and rising
Timmy C - 4 million
Mcfadden - 1 million
Gueye - 2 million
Barkley - 6 million
Rodwell - 6 million - if we were lucky
Vellios - 2 million
Anichebe - 3 million

I have missed a few of the fringe players out but this is what I think they are currently worth.

I know some people will be saying that Barkley is worth 25 million but what he has played and injuries this is what i think we would get at present, if he started like Rooney did when he was with us and had 6 storming games then very well I would say 25 million (please let this happen) but in his present standing 6 million.

Rodders injury free and with a great run looks like a 20 million pound player, injury free though.

If jelly gets four more goals out of the last four games then 17 million, our new saviour and next season him and tim will be awesome.

Anyway guys and girls how far out do you think I am.

IMIT

Degsybluenose

Also made a statement about the BU yesterday - just want to say to you BU guys that I am totally with you for what you want for our great club but just disagreed with some of your tactics so please do not think I hate you

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Keep a lid on Pienaar thing Degsy. Harry could be reading this thinking '6 million eh'. You know what he's like for stealing ideas!
Worse still... Bill could be reading this and sell the lot!

Bainseys worth more than 15mil, hes the best left back in the world!! talking 30 easy

Agree0 Disagree0

U been on da moonshine degz hibbo, neville, mcfag, not worth a carrott, you would not get a bean for them.felliaini 25 mill easy,at 23 hes the best at wat he does and exspect big bids this summer, cahill at 32 with his stats on the way down 2 mill tops, jelivic looks a class finisher and you pay a premium for goalscorers so 20 mill,........if your looking for someone with exsperience and on a free, charasmatic, full of style....why not bring barry venisson back to stand in for bainsey..short term the last for games....hes still got the mullet.............tristen

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought Rodwell was worth 20 million? Surely Everton would get at least 13 million RED RUSS

Agree0 Disagree0

The only issue I have with this list is that we should have more of a premium price for the English players. For instance if we wanted to buy Darren Bent we would be looking at 15 mil easy, yet Jelavic who I thing is much deadlier in the box was a five mil deal.

So take all of our English players and safely add a premium like the other clubs do.

Other than that, it's a fair list Degs
COYB

Toffee ace

Agree0 Disagree0

That's why I threw it out there Tristan the turd, let's see what we all think our players are worth mate

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellaini at 15mil is a bit undervalued, I mean we did pay that figure a few years ago for the big man, and the way he has played, his value has definitely increased as he has just signed a long term deal as well. would imagine he would be valued at around 25-30mil considering the lad is still 23, which I still find hard to believe.

I cannot even imagine what kind of beast he will be in 4/5yrs time when defensive mids tend to enter their prime, hopefully he will be in the royal blue, but the way he is going, he will need CL football sooner rather than later, and Everton will unfortunately not have that (unless we get taken over!)

Agree0 Disagree0

Derick you left out mucha, how much would mucha cost, would you get much for mucha,100 K ,you dont get much for that much.......was there a much that played up front for wolves ed,how much did they pay for him...seem to remember..steve bull andy much combo up front...........tristen {Ed025's Note - that was andy mutch..a scouser..

Agree0 Disagree0

Felli aint worth over 10m - he's slow and can't shoot - he's just a tackler come ball winner (in the air) and holds off players quite well whilst laying off easy balls - that's it - no champs league team would put him in their midfield - they want fast nippy string pulling fellas who cover a lot of ground and can do a lot of things well -

Coleman not worth more than a million

Cahill would be a free transfer now

what's happened to Barkley? - one minute a rising star next minute nothing, and rumours about how its all gone to his head - and all turned sour - what's going on? {Ed025's Note - thanks for your concern...but if i was you, i would worry about your own team!..

Agree0 Disagree0

Andy much also payed for southport tristen a bow legged scoring machine {Ed025's Note - a good player mate..

Baines out rest of season who will play left back

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Bad news! Baines has always seemed indestructible but I guess we all feared it would happen at some point. One of our main methods of getting forward too!
Neville will probably be Moyes first choice. We had a pretty healthy score-line last time he played there.
Tricky one. Bring in a young lad? Push one of the centre-backs out wide and have Jags, Distin and Heitinger all at once? Typical it's the only position where we dont have a natural replacement!

Wizard of Osman

Agree0 Disagree0

Neville looked better at LB against Sunderland, than he did at RB on the weekend, so would assume he would slot in at LB and Hibbo at RB.

Baines is a big loss, gives us that attacking punch which you won't see from Nev and Hibbo who are possibly the worse fullbacks at going forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank god only four games to go, he is a great player, I think Neville and Pienaar will do until May, Nev seems to some fancy step overs when playing with peanuts too lol

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

I am gutted about baines, maybe we should recall one of our young left backs that are out on loan as cover, or to give them vital experience

Bez the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Who you got in mind Bez, I like the idea mate

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

Garbutt and bidwell are natural left backs and are both getting rave reviews out on loan

Bez the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Bidwell and Garbutt are 2 of the brightest LB prospects in England, so I imagine he would be talking about those two.

Both are currently on loan though, and I don't think they have been recalled, so the chances of that are extremely slim
