A simple question to Everton Fans who go the match.

Are you a Boo Boy?
Do you Boo your own players?

Yes or No?
Like or Dislike.

Ste 1878. {Ed025's Note - never booed one of our players in 55yrs ste..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No I don't believe in booing our own players or singling out a player. If he's got a blue shirt on playing for our club they will always get my backing, yeah I'll get frustrated with player's but booing them doesn't help. I'll vent my anger in the pub afterwards with a sometimes heated discussion with my mates.

Mr Blue Sky

Same here guys, won't be booing Moyes when Man U come here either, even though he is now a nob

Degsy {Ed025's Note - i think silence says a lot more..

Agree0 Disagree0

Never booed one of our own or an ex player returning in 42 years and never will.

Agree0 Disagree0

I love booing the ref when he's a nob and is making bad decisions against everton

I also like a bit of a boo against arch bad boys on the opposition - like that nob who used to play for liverpool and bolton - the spitter - forget his name (and don't want to remember it!)

a good boo when we've been ripped off by ref is therapeutic!

dont boo your own players though - never!

degsy I think he meant the original poster and I agree to some extent it won't change anything mate (ste 78) people will boo players and have their opinions and constantly saying its wrong on here won't change anything there is always going to be people who will boo our players and there will be people like you who sit in the match quietly never uttering a word, people will not change mate so don't waste your time posting about it, i'm not being mean or looking for an argument i'm just saying let people behave how they want whether its good or bad, that's the way the world is i'm afraid

All the time when people suggest that players that are coming in why do people say who are they going to the replace. The answer is no one it's called adding strength

Here is a rumour: When we next play a free kick short to start passing around, eg as per our goal on Saturday, the crowd will get behind the team and encourage them to pass and create a goal rather than just curling/lumping it in direct.

Also, no one will moan at Ossie when he misplaces a pass. Likewise with Tim Howard when he tries to play a short pass. This will eventually give the team more confidence and the whole crowd will get behind Martinez. Other quality players will want to join us because of the attractive football we play and we will therefore become more successful and eventually start winning trophies. This will then ensure Champions League qualification and we will eventually win the Champions League. Gareth Bale will hand in a transfer request, as will Messi who both will want to join us.
As I said, these are rumours. But maybe if we start the ball rolling by getting behind the team instead of moaning, then the rest might just be possible?

Good post Degsy.

It's starting to get to me when the fans slag our own players, been going to Goodison for 42 since I was 9 and have never known it so bad.
It's not the Everton way.

Ste 1878

Agree0 Disagree0

There's a word for those that come to the match just to get on the backs of players its s***ehawks.
It seems to be a modern symptom if a goal isn't being scored every five minutes like on match of the day they start to lose patience.
Personally I love the way RM has us playing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on Degsy, Ste and poster 3. This is a symptom of the modern game and it gets to a lot of us at the match.

There was a time when even if we had seen the lads get hammered they had 100% support from kick off to the final whistle, then that unique brand of Everton black humour would kick in, some comedian would crack a joke on the way out.

Sure we all had our own thoughts on individual players, the team as a whole and the manager etc. But that was for after the match, the heated debates in the pub etc. But when they were out there on the pitch they got 100% support from us which is what made Goodison so imposing for away teams.

I personally do not understand the point of going to a game just to get on players backs and moan. I grew up thinking that you went to the match to support your team and enjoy yourself with your mates.

On newsnow, there is a story that say "should unt move now for ross barkly 20m, is, it say, what we are looking for. 1. I do not think bill has gone mad, so 20m is a total none starter; 2. if he signs a 5 year contract, everton will not sell, at least until someone starts to talk in terms of a bale busting deal. ps. come back for baines and the convesation starts at 27.5m, our new minimum price to unt, even for the tea lady.

imo I think rooney will be sold on after this season and I can explain my theory he has now scored 200 goals for the mancs can u honestly tell me that after all the demands for more money etc they will want him to take over sir bobby charlton as the all time great goal scorer as I for one don't think they will.

Boney Blue

and I am not suggesting that means he will come to us.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Dont talk daft. Of course they would like Rooney or anyone to score more goals. And they would like to win more games. And more trophies. Would you like someone to break Dixie Dean's record for Everton? Of course you would. It would mean we were winning games and probably trophies.
Degsypulford

They're going to sell players who are too successful? Never heard anything so stupid in all my days! This is real life, not play station!

We are all still getting used to our new way if playing we had a free kick on Saturday and instead if putting it straight into the box we played it short and tried to get the ball to the bye line and cross it from there. U can hear the groans when the ball didn't go in the box straight away just wondered what people thought if this its one thing having possession and playing it from the back but at set pieces is better to play short to bye line with a more dangerous cross or put it straight in remembering we have pushed up the likes if distin and jags. Or is it just good to mix it up and have a variation. It will be interesting Saturday a total clash if styles west ham focus a lot on set pieces and direct percentage play.

I believe if the team have took the time to send two centre backs forward for the free kick or corner then unless it is greatly to our advantage to take a quick free kick or corner to gain a better crossing position, the ball should be put into the box for us to attack. Pointless if you wait until the opposition have set their defense in place then take the free kick or corner short as we may not have any advantage, maybe even a disadvantage as we may lose the ball in the oppositions half with our defenders in the box, liable to a counter attack. CraigHuytonBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

Countless times you can see that there's a big gap somewhere behind or to the side of a free kick wall where with a bit of intelligence and practice on the trainnig ground it could be exploited - round the back like - but we get the same style free kicks all the time

often it would also be better to play the ball across the face of the area for an incoming blaster to hit it hard into the crowd - it could go anywhere - but that never happens either

the coach needs to look at this

Agree0 Disagree0

I think some of the thinking is when you lump the ball in the ball could land anywhere and your susceptible to a counter attack. If you keep possession and gain an advantage outwide it's more controlled

If we had $20mil to spend on a striker in the January or July transfer window, who do you think we should and could spend it on realistically. IMO we also need a winger to replace pienaar when his legs give out and deloufeu when his loan ends

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lukaku, but would probably need 30 million

Agree0 Disagree0

I really really really want us to keep lukaku. Just seen his interview on everton tv and the lad seems a really articulate, intelligent and most of all driven person. He knows what he wants and I'm sure he will hit double figures for us this year.sky money kicks in at the end of this season. Most teams have blew theirs I'd be happy with blowing £20 mill on him and spending what we have left this year on a winger and young centre back

Think we all know it is a matter of time before the vultures start circling over Ross, they may have already, if the media is to be believed. Just really hope Bill boxes clever and we can keep him for at least 2 seasons.

If so, think we will have a good top 4 chance and can persuade him (and others) EFC is the place to
be, or, like our friend Mr Levy, we can squeeze
£ 100 m out of Madrid a la Bale, instead of these stupid £ 20m to MU / Chelski.

Come on Bill do your very best to keep one of our own.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Whats with all the doom and gloom merchants the way some people are talking we have already sold him already WTF we proved we don't have to sell last transfer window and I can't see him forcing a move for a few years yet.
and one more thing when has the daily mail been reliable for transfer stories

Agree0 Disagree0

The kids only played 4 prem games this season and all of a sudden he's wanting a move, he wants to play football and he will do that with us rather than bench warm for a few years in squads like city or chelsea who are overloaded with midfielders, if he turns out to be one of the best and we do get silly money in the future then we will be better off for it
