So UEFA to relax the ffp, maybe now Bill can sell? Oh no wait there's the ground. Not to worry where building a new one in Walton. Things are definitely looking up.

I was reading the free paper on the bus to work this morning and they were reporting that a 8-year-old boy got bottled in London on Saturday during some football related trouble. Apparently Everton fans are in the frame for it after groups from a few clubs who were playing away in the capital clashed.
Really hope this isn't true, we have a great reputation as both away fans and as a family club, we really don't need this kind of negative publicity now or ever.

Does anyone know if we will get a fee for garbutt for training cost?

{Ed001's Note - yes, you get a fee, plus 5% of future sales.}

any idea where he is going ed?

{Ed002's Note - The Ed is not implying he is off.}

I wonder who it is he is joining. He definitely has another club he is going to. There is no way a 19 yr old runs his contract down like this to look at his options.

Oveido and Galloway will provide good cover but Galloway seems to be the better option to keep over Garbutt anyway. He can play in more than one position and is a different type of player whereas, Garbutt and Baines are almost identical in style.

It would also mean Oveido will get more opportunities and boy does he deserve it.

Cheers Ed (was worried about another Gosling as we signed him from leeds)

{Ed013's Note - Gosling wasn't from Leeds mate?}

Garbutt is a cracking young player, with a great left foot. Just seems ridiculous that we would consider letting him go. To say Galloway would be a better bet is naive based on one game. Surely we should be fighting to keep all our talented young players.

Woburn is right, 1 game (with only pride to play for + end of season etc.) could mean nothing in the long term.

So far so good yes , however you cannot gamble with if's and maybe's!

Why does everyone say can't believe we are letting Garbutt go. He is a human being that we can't force to stay against his will. He has obviously decided to leave rather than us let him go.
So essentially good riddance not interested in players who don't want to play for us

Me saying Galloway is a better bet was not based on one game. My suggestion was based on the fact he can play in more than one position and is a different type of player to Garbutt. Whereas Oviedo and Garbutt are similar to Baines. With a small squad quality options are essential.

As for us letting him go, I don't think we have any decision in this at all. He is the one not signing the contract. What more can we do?

Err offer him a decent contract maybe?

He's a guy that's played 10 games with his last stint as substitute showing that he has a long, long way to go defensively.

Anyway, are you in the know of what was offered to him? It doesn't look like it is anything to do with money and more about wanting game time. At Everton he doesn't deserve to be playing ahead of an English international and one of the best left backs in the EPL.

would anyone else put a few kids in the squad against spurs? would also start distin or at least bring him on as he deserves to say goodbye. would like to see the likes of browning, galloway and ledson get in the squad. would also get garbutt on to say goodbye :) hopefully mcgeady too

It'd be nice if Spurs played Lennon as well.

I hope he does play a few of the kids and Distin does deserve a send off. I'm not sure what the full low down was between him and Martinez but it'd be a good idea to put differences aside for one day.
