Believable5 Unbelievable0

Behave! So this ref that doest like us turned down a penalty appeal for a BLATANT handball by Felliani at 1-0 0? Think your heads gone mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Think he was just pointing out that the ref has got previous against us which is true.

I give Moyes huge credit for Sat. Bet he had them well fired up. We've all questioned his tactics at some point, but forget to praise the other side of it, motivating players. If he does go, the new manager must somehow keep hold of the spirit within the squad. I don't believe there are many managers better at it. If a Martinez takes over, I worry a 3-0 home defeat might be followed by another mauling not an excellent performance like Sat. Looking at it purely on points, Moyes usually hits around 58-60. 4th place you need a minimum of around 65 points, maybe a bit more/less. I doubt a new manager could get to 60. Our current manager is nearly there, and has been for years. The problem is the finances at the club. If I want one change, it's upstairs. The thought of taking that frustration out on Moyes would not occur to me. Think he's done a dam good job and can still do so.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Most people would agree that he has done a good job, however his decision to constantly play Phil Neville in midfield has cost us dearly. The win over Man City did not make up for the previous weeks debacle and his contract stance is leaving the club in limbo.

Popeye

Agree0 Disagree0

He does seem to have a blind spot when it comes to Phil Neville and midfield. What annoys me about Moyes is his lack of desire to give the youngsters a game when the 'first teamers' are available. All those games we lost/drew because of Heitinga, would Duffy really have been that bad? And Barkley with Jelas goal drought. Could he not have moved Mirrallas (when fit) further on and tried Barkley behind? Posters right about our spirit and I respect Moyes' loyalty to his players. but i'd personally like a manager who takes the odd risk

Team I'd play against Stoke
Mucha

Coleman, Duffy, Distin, Baines
Oviedo, Gibson, Barkley (adds a more physical presence than lile Leon Osman)
Anichebe, Jelavic

Team I think Moyes will play
Mucha

Coleman, Heitnga, Distin, Baines
Osman, Neville, Gibson, Mirallas
Anichebe, Jelavic

Plus Neville put on twitter that he will be playing again next season, I nearly broke down in tears!
Thoughts?.

COYB!

Believable1 Unbelievable3

I agree with your selection but I'd keep Ossie in there. You need to pass the ball when you play Stoke and you very rarely see him spraying 50 yard passes up in the air. More often than not he plays the ball on the floor. Duffy and Oviedo are good shouts though.

Personally my team would be:

Super Jan

The Irish Cafu, Duffy (Johnny's been playing well lately but Duffy offers a more physical presence), Buzz, Bainesy.

Belgium Ronaldo, Ossie, Irish Xavi, Oviedo

Big Vic, Jela

What an embarrassing post Bitter, just put their names. Anyway OP, you haven't put 11 players in, but I'd play:

Mucha
Coleman Distin Duffy Baines
Mirallas Gibson Osman Oviedo
Anichebe Jelavic

Agree0 Disagree0

What's wrong with Heitinga against Stoke? He was immense against Man C and looked like he was showing some of the form which earned him player of the season. He usually struggles against pacey, strong, athletic types, ie. Benteke, Kone but Stoke are hardly blessed with any of this type of strikers. I think he's coming back into the form we saw last season and would be a mistake to drop him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I didn't realise having nicknames for certain players was embarrassing. Wow I really have to think where my life is going. Get a grip! Just a bit of fun you bore.

BitterBlue {Ed025's Note - his reluctance to leave a name, speaks volumes bitter...you carry on mate, and i for one enjoyed it!..

To stef the blue. You always talk sense and try to put a positive spin on things. If you are very attractive you are the perfect person.

I doubt Moyes will leave in summer. I think he will try at least one more season to get a trophy with us. Anyone else agree?
RobboTheBlue

Believable6 Unbelievable8

As if he will stay for another season you whoppa. His contact ends this season . Is he really going to sign a one year contact?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he'll stay and sign something like a 3 year contract. Nothing I've seen suggests to me that he's leaving, pure speculation has made people like the first commenter get it into their heads that Moyes is going without any really evidence

Did any one else watching the game on the telly on Sunday see that bird at the end in the away supporters waving her scarf and singing along with Its a Grand Old Team, her boyfriend stood at the end of the row telling her to come on, and her totally ignoring him and carrying on singing, don't know whether it was her first game or what. Absolute classic.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

I seen it mate, I think she thought her team had won, scatty bitch, her fella was well embarrassed

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah that was weird wasn't it - she had the city scarf on and was dancing and singing around whilst everyone round her was miserable

I love a scatty bird, me!
Hopefully she's back on the market!

Agree0 Disagree0

There were quite a few city fans singing along to 'give it up' by KC & The Sunshine Band, if you look at it again, just after 'if yer know yer history' not just the scatty mare. I can only presume they enjoyed the atmosphere

perfect summer for me would be
moyes to sign (i know some want him to go but I think we will end up like villa without him) and us to buy a cb a cm and a striker.

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Perfect summer for me would be a massive oil well is found under goodison, we nab guardiola from bayern and he raids his old club barca for messi and a few others, oh and my numbers come up on euromillions

Some people might think I'm mad but if we play the way we did on Saturday we could finish 3rd? Tom

Believable8 Unbelievable4

Your right!. I Think Your mad but I like your enthusiasm!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would you think that Tom, because you seen your team dispose of the current champions and play with pride and guts and class I with you all the way mate if play like that every week why not.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think 3rd's very optimistic but I have to agree it can't be ruled out if we play that for the rest of the season

Lawrenson writes about poor refereeing decisions at the weekend and highlights the decision to not give a penalty against Felly's handball as a game changing decision.

What about the penalty we should have had for holding back Felly and the Mirallas goal that should have stood?

I agree the referee was poor and that in general there seem to be an increasing number of dodgy decisions made at the weekend having to be discussed on a Monday morning.

As a pundit he's the most biased there is - as a commentator he's a rambling fool - how is still working? he seems to be everywhere these days! Did you see him on MOTD3 dismissing Everton as a top 6 club? What a complete and utter person. (saving you the edit ED)

Here's hoping for a 'Gray-moment' or an 'Atkinson-comment' ASAP.

I'm not even going to mention the shirts.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

That man is a tit I don't listen to him anymore complete fool Alan shearer spoke highly of Everton and he was 1 of the best strikers in England at one time the likes of him I listen to and not cause he singes our praises but because he makes sense when he speaks.

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldnt agree more mate, I hate listening to Lawro, he is miserable, behind the times and a biased pundit. The ref had a shocker at the weekend, but as you say we should have had a penalty and Mirallas goal should have stood.

Alastair

Agree0 Disagree0

It says a lot that the gimp is now on MOTD 3. Let's hope he stays there, he's a very bitter man, a slob who looks like a tramp. He's loathe to give anyone credit except the RS

Lawrencen and Phil the tit Thompson for me, don't know who I want to punch more.

Shearer spot on as always, same with Le Tiss, Champagne Charlie etc

Degsy

The referee gave a free kick against Osman first before the ball hit fellis arm that's why it was no penalty

I said it last week if we beat City the mood would change and I was right, if we had of lost I said this site would go into meltdown, but we won and things are starting to look up again. Just a few things I want to say the reason we were poor against Wigan was we taught the game was won before we kicked a ball even the players were too relaxed in there pre match interview and with all this notion that Wigan were going to field a weakened team it just added to the notion that we were going to win and boy did they bring us back down to earth with a bang, now the fa cup is gone we still have a chance of grabbing 4th. The performance against City was just the tonic we needed to push on, on the down side Fellaini and peanuts are suspended for 2 games but we are at home to Stoke next and it gives Moyes a chance now to give the other lads a chance if we win that game and get something out of the Spurs match it really puts us right in there and then you have to look at the plus side Fellaini and peanuts will be fully refreshed and ready to go for the run in. Blues I am going to stick my neck out now and say it but I really believe we will be playing CL next year I seen the way our team played saturday and if they keep that hunger well then only a mad man would right us off but it is crucial we get the results in the next 2 games if we do there will be no stopping us especially with a refreshed Fellaini and peanuts 4th is there for us but we just have to stand up now and grab it all guns blazing now till the end COYB.

Life as an Evertonian I'd like a roller coaster how down we all where last week and how proud we are now. I posted per city game saying my glass is half full hopefully more people feel this way now. I have been looking at the run in of remaining games and as I said before our fate is in our own hands we still got spurs arsenal Liverpool and Chelsea it might just suit us if we can be fired up like Saturday. I think arsenal maybe our biggest threat they have the easier games. Liverpool have got to play Chelsea H, Newcastle A, QPR H last game of season possibly needing to stay up. We have a game in hand on spurs then play them ourselves in between their European games they then got to play Chelsea away, man city H. Chelsea as I have said have got to play spurs and Liverpool then their last three games Manchester United A, Villa A ourselves last game.
It's clear points are going to be dropped by these fixtures and hopefully everyone at the club had a big kick up the backside against Wigan and it may prove to be a defining moment in our season and IF we could get into top 4 and I know it's a big IF the Wigan PERFORMANCE maybe that little bit easier to forget not forgive.
