Told ya. Tottenham fans are eyeing up Lookman. Won't be too long I'm telling you. The boy wants to play. He's keen as mustard and is going to learn quick. He's going to be a superstar in telling you. And we're just letting him sit on the bench.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

{Ed0333's Note - he does look like he has something about him. I’d be chuffed if he was a Liverpool player Mowfee. I think your right he’ll have a stellar career.

19 Jan 2018 06:51:03
Mowfee82 the reason he is sitting on the bench is because he isn't ready to start games yet we have to be careful with him as he comes on makes an impact then starts the next game and has a terrible game yes he is keen all young players are but we will do what's best for him and and the min that's mostly as an impact sub as for spurs wanting him that won't happen as they will use him the same way we are and before anyone says he is homesick I think that's press crap he is playing with all his mates from England so I'm pretty sure he is happy where he is.

Agree3 Disagree1

19 Jan 2018 09:35:02
We did a similar thing with Davies when he first came on to the scene so I'm not concerned. Lookman is still developing his game, its much better for him to play against tired players than fresh so being a sub is building his confidence. If you look at the difference in his performances when he starts and when he comes on late in the game you can see how much more effective he is. Both he and Vlasic are in the same position we need to be patient but they are great prospects and will get their chance to shine in the not to distant future I hope.

Spot on Blue79. Could not agree more.
The homesick thing passed me by and I went on a Google search and found it was a little article from early October and no more follow up a since. The fan groups have somehow kept it alive. I'm sure any young person moving to a new place has a little settling to do. It's a nothing story.
If actually assume the kid his loving life. He has jumped 2 divisions and is surrounded by inspirational pros. He has played about as much as I expected, maybe a little more considering his age.
I think he should be proud of his contribution so far and more than satisfied. Even these links must be a real lift to the boy. He is going to be a big star. And he's at the best place for him now.

Good write up on the sky sports website about our season and apparently a segment on soccer Saturday definitely worth a watch, looking forward to the weekend and our game though that wait before the team selection is always a killer will we have disappointment or see the team and think yes we can win this.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

19 Jan 2018 08:54:16
Of course we can mate.

Agree1 Disagree6

18 Jan 2018 19:57:18
Look, it is what they call the silly season, and this Vardy rumour is as silly as it gets. 1. Leicester wouldn't let him go 2. why would he leave a team that is better than us at present and won the Prem season b4 last. Where these rumours start from is beyond me and worse still people buy into it. Listen if it does come true, I'll never doubt a rumour or Newspaper ever again hahahaha Bonkers!

Believable1 Unbelievable6

18 Jan 2018 20:37:53
So why would on earth would anybody leave liecester for everton? Mate no, just no :/ probably the worst post I've ever seen.

You're starting to sound like me Blue-tit.

18 Jan 2018 21:16:10
hahahahaha, good shout but alas. like you i think we are the big club. However sadly, where is he more likely to play in Europe right now, would he get a game with us in WC Year with a front 4 already of Bolasie, Tosun, Walcott n Siggy or Rooney?

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Jan 2018 03:24:51
Vardy would walk into Everton's front line. If his competition is Rooney and the headless chicken twins named Walcott and Bolasie, Vardy would bet his wife he would start every game for Everton.

Agree4 Disagree1

19 Jan 2018 06:56:40
im guessing Buzzer is another Leicster fan who believes since they won the league and 1 place and 4 points ahead of us they are a bigger club funny how that forget they were in a championship a few seasons back it's a shame how their fans have gone as I used to like Leicster but they are becoming deluded as kopites as for Vardy he isn't coming we have just spent 27 million on Tosun.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - buzzer is a liverpool fan bluey,...enough said..

19 Jan 2018 14:42:59
I think he's probably right though. the Bolasie and Walcot thing isn't valid but Vardy is better than our strikers. It's just a fact.

Good luck at Hearts to Steven Naismith, wish we would have had him this season!

Very much so. A decent footballer and an even more decent man.

{Ed025's Note - great man glen, if only there were more like him mate..

18 Jan 2018 14:07:27
Theo Walcott thanked the players, management, fans at Arsenal on his social media account, A bit of class from him, even before mentioning his ambitions with us, take note Barkley.

Believable7 Unbelievable9

18 Jan 2018 18:05:42
There s a difference Theo is leaving arsenal on good terms Barkley is leaving under a cloud.

he will be good addition for us mate.

Don't worry Irish. the bitters will still be banging on about B×××××y next transfer window.
Tedious and frankly embarrassing.
Get over it.

I've got to try and revert back to a more defensive structure with the team again and try to get those clean sheets that gave us so many wins when I first came here.

From big Sam after he bought a striker and wide man. Hope it doesn't mean we going to sit back and hope for 1-0 wins with 3 defensive midfielders.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

18 Jan 2018 14:32:06
Not sure why I got thumbs down. Just quoting Sam and that we need to utilise our new players going forward. I'm worried Sam will go back to 3 dm's and my team would be

Pickford
Kenny
Keane
Holgate
Martini (unfortunately)
Gauge
Davies/ Rooney
Bolasie
Siggy (no 10)
Walcott
Tosun

With dcl, lookman or basic to come in off the bench.

Agree1 Disagree2

18 Jan 2018 14:41:10
Geuye not gauge and vlasic not basic. stupid phone.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2018 16:11:20
Having no shots on target in the league in January does not translate to 1-0 wins.

Agree0 Disagree1

18 Jan 2018 16:57:34
True glenn. But if Sam wants to be even more defensive, we'll be lucky to even leave our own half.

Agree0 Disagree1

18 Jan 2018 17:16:50
You just cannot be defensive at home to West Brom who will no doubt come for a point anyways, if he does, he is just putting 2 fingers up to the board who have backed him by bringing in 2 attacking players.
Its all well and good being defensive when needed but Saturday is an ideal game to attack and get the confidence in the attacking play to get the win, personally I think he will start with Tosun, Walcott and Bolasie with Sigs, Rooney and Gueye behind them and we will win comfortably 4 nil.

Agree0 Disagree2

18 Jan 2018 18:08:06
Sam's job is done got us safe now he should try something he never done and play attacking football.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Jan 2018 18:16:51
I hope so blue but 4-0 after 4 games without a shot on target is bit optimistic. Going for 2-1 myself.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Jan 2018 19:53:55
might wish to tighten up again so as to free walcot and Tosun to have a go, for me at home I would have a 3 of Bolasie (left) Tosun and Walcott (right) . I would also replace Martina at LB with my GrandSon (Liverpool Supporter) .

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2018 20:18:16
So what we are predicting is that Sam will pick a side that looks nothing like any side he has picked for us before. That side will gel immediately and overwhelm a West Brom team whose improving performances have culminated in a first confidence boosting win under Pardew last week at the same time as we were losing 4-0. What odds do you think I should take about that coming off?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im hoping that sam is talking about shoring us up defensively and with the new guys up top have an attacking threat playing on the counter glen..

18 Jan 2018 20:59:44
So we are hoping to pinch 1-0. Far cry from 4-0.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2018 21:41:54
I'm still going for 4 nil Glennk, the first win under Pardew in how many attempts? Yes we may not have had an attempt on target in January as you say but then again that can't be true as I'm sure we scored at Anfield on 5th January but I'm not here to pick holes in your 'facts'
West Brom are piss poor and we should be putting them to the sword and with the attacking players at our disposal we can do that, so let's set the negativity to one side and be optimistic for a change, its West Brom for Christ sake not Barcelona!
4 nil to Everton, Tosun gets the first, Walcott a brace, Sigs with a 30 yarder to make it 4 nil with 5 minutes to play.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2018 21:55:58
Just noticed you state no shots on target in the league Glennk so apologies, the rest I stand by.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2018 23:02:29
Don't understand how stating facts is negativity. I would be delighted to see free flowing football culminating in a 4-0 win. However, evidence based optimism is by far the best sort.

Agree2 Disagree0

19 Jan 2018 06:26:47
Fact is our attacking players are much better than West Brom and if we use the pace at our disposal we will hurt them as they have nobody at the back that has pace.
I just feel after the performance or should I say non performance last week the players will be wanting to put on a display and show that they can play football and we don't need to be boring, another way of looking at this game is how poor we were against West Brom boxing day and they couldn't score then, nothing has changed for them, us on the other hand, we have a proper centre forward and another player as well as Bolasie who can run at you with pace in Theo.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2018 08:29:14
The evidence for this attacking cornucopia being the torrent of shots we rain in on goal and not the fact that last time we scored the most advanced player in the move was a centre back. Worry not though we've dropped the indisciplined maverick.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2018 14:45:10
Im sure the commentators said that the most successful passes at half time (can't remember the game but a few weeks ago) by an Everton player was Pickford. Anti football
Hope this weekend is a shot in the arm and stuffs my negativity for B S. dire footy down my throat.

Hi Eds,

Are you aware if Bayern would be willing to let Bernat go if someone came in for him?

They have Alaba first choice and Bernat has hardly featured. If a club came in with say 20-30 million (which i think he is more than worth in the current market) - would they consider letting him go?

I think he is top drawer. Young, rapid and great ball control. He has the pace to both beat a man and whip balls in but also to recover if out of position/ covering team mates.

No brainer for me, would seriously strengthen us.

Cheers.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i believe if the money was right then they would sell JMW, he is just the type of player we need imo mate..

18 Jan 2018 12:34:36
If we can get vardy then wonderful. Tosun looks good but doesn't seem to have the pace to run in behind defences like vardy does. Can't see it happening so Walcott and bolasie will have to do that job and cross the ball to the big man.
Praying for a link up similar to limpar, kanchelskis and big dunc.

If newspapers are to be believed we will end up with more strikers the no.10's :)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Jan 2018 12:15:00
We will need them as we clearly can't defend!

Agree0 Disagree1

18 Jan 2018 13:22:31
what a silly comment Blue-tit.
Dont you realise we would have to buy 24 more strikers to have more than the No 10s at the club.
have a word with yourself.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Jan 2018 14:34:38
Haha good one Smit. Ricktee then we would be purchasing for the wrong reasons. You can't just buy youraelf out of positions, investing is vital yes but it is not as simple as that. I still don't believe we have utilised the players we have fully despite the huge imbalance. New LB then wait until summer or we could end up having loads of players to get rid.
