Anyone else think that Fellaini was our Man of the match today? He was everywhere, and unlike Drenthe (not taking nothing from his performance, he was great too) he never gave away possession a lot.

JM

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I agree JM

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes but messi is the best player in the world and has also gave the ball away more than anyone in the la liga! dont take anything away from royston he wins you matches, he just loses the ball because he is more direct!

Agree0 Disagree0

Messi has Iniesta, Xavi, Alexis, Busquets ETC. around him, he doesn't need to track back for his team so he can afford to lose the ball in silly positions. I am not saying Royston did not play well, in fact it was his probably his best performance yet not taking into account the skill of the opposition. I am just saying that if he is going to lose the ball, either A) make an effort to win it back, or B) lose it deeper into the opposition half

JM

Agree0 Disagree0

True but all I am saying is that if messi played for us he would loose the ball just as much, Im not saying he's as good as messi(only if) but he does win games. what annoys me is he's decision making; its like I heard on the radio after the match, if he had a brain he'd be dangerous !

Ed you need to see the bigger picture. This is our year, spurs v $hite would be perfect. The teams left in the cup are much weaker than in 2009. {Ed025's Note - if we start talking about them mate...our page gets swamped with red trolls writing nonsense about us, and it just wastes my time..

Played well today against a team who we'll be playing next season in the league. Reduced prices and the ground was full take note BK. We should have scored 5 at least, now all we need is a home game in the last 8 and we'll be London bound. I'd like to see spurs v $hite in the draw if they get through. {Ed025's Note - good point on the ticket prices...but i dont care who anyone else gets...everton are my only concern..

Ed, me my dad and my son went to the game today and we were impressed well my sons too young to understand but he cheered, but I think drenthe stood out today he made a few wrong decisions but I think that's down to lack of experience he tucked his goal away lovley. overall we played well being 90 mins away from wembley is a nice feeling but were not there yet! Hopefully we've turned our poor start into lifting the cup and firing ourselves into the europa league, Dan

another home win and progress to the quarter final! very good performance could of scored 5 or 6 and felli could of bagged a hattrick! im liking fellani joining the striker! him and denis were awesome up top today, just not to happy with neville in midfield! but we have a few injuries so needs must! drenthe was impressive today he is staring to pass more and helping out the defence plus he will still have a run at the defence.great goal aswell! ive already mentioned denis but he deserves another! fantastic performance never stops running his hold up play is really good sometimes guilty of a heavy first touch but that will improve, he got another goal and he also created chances! we gotta sign him up!!

im was very happy with todays performance! gutted we have no game till march now :@(

Believable3 Unbelievable1

That could be a good thing, as the injured players to come back, just means there's more players to fight for a starting place agaist the Redpoop.
And with our new found confidence we Will kick the crap out of them, and that will put us 3points behind them happy days.
On the up we go:)

Agree0 Disagree0

If anything i thought gibson was terrible today and drenthe tryed too much fancy and, overall it was a great win but we didnt hold the ball very well throughout...

and im proper sick of this! get the ball pass it around, outside there box, play it all the way back to the keeper, long kick, give away!!!!!! all the time!!

J0hn80y {Ed025's Note - a bit of hair splitting there jonnny boy...it was a decent performance, and job well done..

I honestly think we will sign Donovan next January on a permanent deal, i think he wants to play the end of his career at us, he will have 1 year left on his contract with Galaxy next jan and he wont cost that much. I know he will be 30 but his energy and fitness levels can take him to 33-34 playing at the same level {Ed025's Note - what a boost that would be for us..

Believable2 Unbelievable1

18 Feb 2012 12:01:06
Hope Royston starts today.
Magaye did well in midweek though so perhaps him and Coleman on the wings?
3-2 to us, them to score first.
Baines penalty at some point. {Ed025's Note - its 7-1 in the bookies for bainsy to score a penalty or free kick...get on!!

Regarding Junior

And I ask this because I don't know the answer

As he has represented Portugal at
U21 level then surely being
Portugese and Portugal
is part of the European Union he doesn't need a work permit?

Also as he was training with City, albeit out of contract there must have been some authorisation or clearance already given for him to do that.

So if that was in place at city surely it must just be transferable and not that difficult to sort out?

Big C {Ed025's Note - its just red tape big c...it will all be sorted by next week..

ED025... Do you got the match a lot or just now and again ? I was just thinking we should all organize to meet up for a pint the next time were all at the same match !?
Be well strange to meet some of the lads and girls who post on here ! haha ! Put the face to the posts haha ! The ones who post on here regularly, we should meet in one of the boozers for a pre match pint !! What do people think !?
MikeTheBlue {Ed025's Note - work dictates when i can go mike, but i must admit sharing a bevvy with the guys on here really appeals to me. maybe later on in the season we can arrange it..

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Dont be getting any ideas Tristen

Degsy {Ed025's Note - its alright degsy...in wont be held in the lisbon..

Weve made a lot of signings Ed and as good a problem as it is, our midfield is absolutely packed!

Wouldn't surprise me if we sold one of our big players to strengthen RB and ST positions now because even with injuries were not going to find a consistant team if we plan on using all of them!

Cahill, Osman, Drenthe, Coleman, Pienaar, Rodwell, Fellaini, Gibson, Barkley, Francisco, Gueye

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yake Cahill out he's getting past it pienaar is on loan and two you have named don't have the eperience yet.

Doesn't leave much left.....

Gods Doctor

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree mate, if we get Pienaar on a permernant in the summer and we get Drenthe then i expect someone like Rodwell will be sold to strenghen defence (full back areas and another striker

Sky Sports News have said AEG not investing in Spurs, but could this be it guys. £450 million is about the right amount to put Everton back on the world stage. Short term investment of approximately £15 million to ensure Premiership survival, and then in the Summer after the takeover Moyse can go shopping, to push on for Europe and possibly silverware, then the rest as an investment in the infrastructure, Finch Farm, Goodison rebuild or new ground. What do you think the chances then Ed. {Ed025's Note - for a start the £15m for premiership survival??...its not even on the radar mate...on AEG investment, it would be good, but also not on the radar..

Believable2 Unbelievable1

When have we ever been on the world stage ? Don't get me wrong, I have been a Blue since boyhood and I'm 58 now, but I have never thought of us as global. We may have fans all over the world, but that is scousers - we get everywhere. We have a long way to go before we can claim global status, but I hope I live to see it.

Agree0 Disagree0

AEG own la galaxy if dreams come true and we get taken over by them we might get landon this summer just a thought...grbefc
