I think m'vila, lacazette an tom ince would be a good transfer window and players for the future

So what happened to the likes of Alan Ball, Brian Labone etc. looks you don't go back to far Dixie Dean excepted.

been thinking about this for a while now, what do people think is the greatest possible everton 11 from past and present players? any formation

In my opinion:
southall
stevens jagielka ratcliffe baines
steven reid bracewell sheedy
ferguson dean

Mike-Ox Long

Good shout Mike although I would have picked Alan Ball over tricky Trev, Brian Labone over Jags with Alex Young over Brace.

Greame Sharp alongside Dixie.

Looking to the future for future teams from your post mike (excellent 11) wondered if any blues agree Bobby's way forward is ideal for us, but nevertheless risky.

His strategy appears to be, to get a blend of loanees (young exciting but unproven or older but more experienced) combined with purchasing young unheard of prospects for reserves / learning Bobby's system of playing (not too expensive) ready in 12 / 18mths time for 1st team.

Along with development of existing youth players and the odd multi-million pound buy in my opinion looks like his method / plan for Everton.

So far it is working tremendously well but likely to mean season to season the blues may have dramatically different teams so really not making a negative comment, but could backfire, ie once Delofelou & Lukaku return to respective clubs.

Bit of a worrier me, but really enjoying Bobbys approach and long may it continue

Do any blues agree that this appears to be Bobbys plan or do they see things differently.

Agree0 Disagree0

Disagree, he has not signed any young unheard of prospects who are learning his system.

His strategy is to finish as high as possible playing his way, simple.

If we had money, real money, we would not be in the loan market but needs must.

Rooney alongside Dean instead of big Dunc. If we are talking in terms of footballing ability. I think Ross Barkley will make that team too very soon.

Growing up in 90s I could only pass judgement on our premier league era players. i'd go for:

Southall
Hibbert
Jagielka
Stubbs
Baines
Arteta
Cahill
Carsley
Gravesen
Rooney
Ferguson

Agree0 Disagree0

Bob Latchford for me up front. Would love to have seen him play in our 80's team, the man was a goal machine. An for you young pups who never got to see him.Alex Young the best midfielder ever, pure class.

Agree0 Disagree0

Youve got to add Roy Vernon as a great striker but up front best would be Dixie Dean and Andy Grey imagine it the cavary charge who would want to face them two.thgfest
