Hey Guys,

Been reading through the recent posts and seems that (perhaps), understandably after the semi disappointment, the negative DM and BK haters are making some noise again.

Anyway I see a lot of people referring to our bad starts to the season and predicting (rather negatively) that it will happen again next year. After all its the Moyes way isn't it? He's such an incompetent, negative manager who is afraid to take chances!

Well, I disagree and for one very good reason... NIKICA JELAVIC!! If you look at our team for the last 5-6 seasons and almost through all of Moyes time at the club the one thing we have really lacked is a consistent goalscorer!
Duncan... injury prone and never played enough games, Campbell... a great player but not an out and out goalscorer and already quite old when he arrived... Saha... quality but injury prone, the Yak... one fantastic yr then crocked...
The list goes on Anichebe, Vaughn, Radsinsky etc. nobody who has found the net on a regular basis... In fact our most regular scorer has been Cahill and he is not a CF. In fact I had to go all the way back to Tony Cottee when trying to think of our last great striker(with an honourable mention to Paul Rideout) What we have missed is a poacher, a striker, a centre forward... Jelavic is all of these things and more, the kind of player that will get something out of nothing and score goals even when the team is playing badly!
And this is why I am convinced that we will not start badly next yr! So let's have a bit of belief... You are all very quick to accuse DM of lacking belief and of being negative and yet you seem to display the same attributes... beaten before a ball has been kicked..!!

Applause mate..well said and totally agree with you, keep peanuts on permanent and another 1 or maybe 2 quality players and were there for next season.I believe next season we will make our mark in the prem.mark my words lol..

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Westy hope we are right! Personally I can't see much transfer activity in the summer after our transfers in Jan, but Pienaar is a must and then hopefully Barkley will make his mark next yr! After that I would like to see a good, pacey RM and I would be happy enough!

Has anyone seen any sneaked/leaked pictures of the new kit?
I know we've only just agreed the Nike deal but I'm sure talks would have been going on for a while and I've seen leakedimages of the new Man U, Barca and Arsenal kits online (also sponsored by Nike) so just wondering if anyone has seen anything.
I've been looking on the net daily but nothing found so far.
If anyone does see it will they post a link please?
Cheers,

I like that kit, the design is very similar to Barcelona's kit this season. {Ed025's Note - lets hope we play like them mate!..

Ed,can we get in Europe if Chelsea win the champions league and we finish 7th? {Ed001's Note - no.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If we can get a good start for a change next season we can get top 6, we need to remember the season starts in august not december!!

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - your right bez..we need to do our transfer dealings early, so that we can integrate them into the squad pre-season, in the past we have waited till the last minute, and that has cost us!..

Agree0 Disagree0

Only if they finish 5th

Agree0 Disagree0

I have an idea why don't we have a xmas party in august. We can fool the players into thinking it's xmas so they start the season well.

Will ross barkley end up at united in a year or too?ive heard there is very good relations between both clubs and with us signing gibson do they have an option on barkley? {Ed025's Note - no mate...fergie and moyes are mates but when it comes to business...they both want the best for their respective clubs..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

We will have a fantastic midfield next season with gibson and fellaini flanked by barkley and pineaar. (hopefully)

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - thats if he plays ross, bez?..and if we sign peanuts..

Agree0 Disagree0

We must sign peanuts ed, if we don't i will despair, he was made for us and he improves baines contribution as well

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - the problem is financing it bez..if there is no kitty...we WILL lose him!, and that will be a tragedy, so come on bill.....dig deep!!

I really think now we have Jelavic, all we are missing now is SPEED!! Especially in attacking area's.
How slow are we? Fellaini and Gibson, whilst there solid Midfielders are slow getting forward.
Pienaar for all his class, technique and creativity is slow.
Osman- slow
Cahill-slow
Coleman- headless chicken
Gueye- average
Straqualersui- slow
Anichebe- good over 10 yards( if he runs)
Jelavic- FOX IN BOX

We very rarely if not ever play on the break, if we break, we slow the play down, allow the opposition to get back behind the ball and numbers in there box and we kind of pass it around until we get into a crossing position with either who ever is on the flanks or if Baines comes on the over lap.
I can only think of once this season, we broke quickly piled forward sliced through the opposition midfield and scored a goal vs Aston Villa away and do you know why?? DONOVAN! That's why, he has pace and he is direct he recieved the ball from Tim Howard, looked at Gibson, looked at Cahill, ignored them flew forward and played a great pass to Anichebe who scored.
Look at the top teams they have quick players in the starting 11

We have Distin and Drenthe (who wont play again)

In the summer- get some pace!! Moses, Rodellaga, Jarvis, Hoillet,

Is fox in the box a speed? ;)

we dont need to go out spending millions if moyes actually done what he says he does and give the young players a chance i reckon we would be doing just fine,

Barkley - everyone in england now's what he can do why wont moyes play him we are dying for a creative midfeilder he would make things happen playing in the cahill roll

Vellios - seems to score when ever he plays

Duffy - rock solid when ever i have see him

We have got the talent there but he wants to stick to his players but there getting older he needs to start playing the young players he brags about, and another thing everyone has got their own opinion on the drenthe sitution but what ever he has done he is a world class player on a free transfer the only player in a blue shirt when he get's the ball actually looks like making a goal. Off our current youth and reserve players who do fellow blues and also ed025 believe can actually "make it" in the first team in the future??
I believe Duffy and Barkley are ready now if not defo next season.
Anyone else? Green? Lundstum? Dier? What's happened to Vellios, anyone know?
Gueye, still needs to improve but looking promising.
Baxter, doesn't do it for me?
Hallem Hope looks a like he has great potential.
Anyone else have any opinions? {Ed025's Note - for me, barkley is the stand out player...gueue needs to toughen up a bit. and baxter needs to gain a bit more experience, maybe on loan to a championship side...the others to me, need quite a bit more time, vellios as i hear it , has had a falling out with the manager, and has been put on the back burner until his attitude improves..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Heard Vellios has had a fallen out with Moyes about his ego.
Baxter- agree not good enough for the premiership.
Barkley- Need to unleash him next season, has bags of ability and physically strong enough to deal with it.
Gueye- needs to improve overall game

Fransisco Junior Silva looks a good prospect

Hi everyone, havnt posted since the let down on Saturday, been for too emotional, at times i felt like going out back and sticking my head in the dirt.

However, i've been reading a lot of posts calling for Moyes and Kenwrights head, now im not advocating for or against this but heres a few observations ive made!

Moyes: is a great manager, we are very lucky to have him, he's been a great servant for 10 years and i firmly believe that without him we certainlty wouldnt be were we are today, we may even have been relegated, however in Moyes 10 years his tactics have become predictabe and so have Everton. We often have no plan B, and more often that not resort to hoofing the ball 60 yards. We have a times struggled to break weaker temas down, and have come to rely on set pieces for too much! But most notably is our inability to kill teams off, or rather our lack of interest in killing teams off, there have been many occasions were we've had a team there for the taking or gone 1-0 up and we just sit back, our negative approach and attitude allows poor teams to get something against us, Moyes seems to go into games with the intention of not losing rather than with the intention of trying to win. My problem is, that after 10 years of plying this tactic, it still doesnt work but yet he still persists with it. We also never turn up for the big occassion, this has got to be down to man managment and motivation.

Kenwright: Again i feel that have been lucky with Kenwright, he's blue through and through, and look at what has happened to a number of other clubs in recient seasons. When i saw his interview before Saturdays disappointment, he was crying live on tv giving the interview, i could see that he feels exactly like we all do about the club, and i was bursting with pride to be a tooffee.
HOWEVER ive just listed all his good points and not one of them relates to financial awarness, managment or simply running a football club. In his time in charge our debt has doubled, weve become a selling club, we've had numerous high profile calamities (kings dock, no new oweners, the 2 lads who nearly bought the club from a bed sit but to mention a few). If he was not such a massive supporter would there not have been bigger and more protests against his reign!

So there you go, i personally feel that if no money is given to Moyes this summer he will walk, wether it be to Spurs or not is another question. As for Kenwright, who knows, we still have no prospective buyer or investor, and who'll want the job(if Moyes goes) knowing they have no money.

Im still going to be bitting my nails though and kicking every ball while watching them, after all we Toffees are born not made!

Kurajan

Believable3 Unbelievable2

I just feel you reach a point with moyes where it might be beneficial for both club and manager to have a parting of ways, he maybe need a new challenge and we could have someone with fresh ideas and a more attacking style to breath new life into the club, rodgers, martinez and lambert would be my shortlist. Ed 1, in your opinion should we replace moyes?

Bez the blue {Ed001's Note - in my opinion, only if there is significant investment. While I think Moyes has taken the club as far as he can, I also don't think there is anyone out there that could do any better with the resources he has at hands. He could do with being a bit braver against the bigger clubs, then he could actually get a regular European spot.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Bill is an actor and therefore trained to cry to the camera

Agree0 Disagree0

If you watch Corrie you will know he is not a very good actor. He genuinely loves the club, even if it is a bit OTT to cry as much as he does. Still, I hope he can find a buyer soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

How are we lucky to have moyes then? We took a chance on him not the other way around.

Agree0 Disagree0

The negative feeling that moyes is soul reason we are not relagated is bafaling we have been in the top flight longer than anyone with some great managers to assume we would get a dud if he left is baffling at best

Went to watch the reserves last night versus Bolton at Leyland. Went with my mate who's a Leeds fan & both agreed it was a good watchable game with most of the play on the ground & some good movement from both sides. We should have had more than the one goal, but that was due to some good saves by their keeper in the first half. (Blame myself there - when he ran out both me & my mate laughed at how small he was for a goalie. What a good shot stopper he was!
Right, onto the good & the bad. Negatives first - I was really disappointed with Velios & Silva. More with Velios who looked like he felt the game was beneath him. Silva did a bit more running, but neither looked like taking advantage of some great approach play in the first half. That leads onto the plusses. I have to admit that I didn't really rate Jose Baxter before last night, but he was head & shoulders above anyone else on the pitch. He made some cracking runs & passes and showed first team standard vision. Ross Barkley had a great first half but faded a bit in the second, good performance nonetheless. Honourable mentions for Shane Duffy, Davie Weir & young Tyias Browning. Great finish by Hallam Hope for the winning goal, too.
All in all, not bad in front of a watching David Moyes.

Pienaar is the biggest priority for me this summer.

All in all would love to see those signings, can't see it in a million years though and I would be happy with Peanuts and Landon and not sell anyone

Here we go again, lets get rid of Moyes, hang Bill etc etc, get a grip will ye, next thing the Blue Union will get on the bandwagon again and we know what that done for moral.

Let's get behind the team and put the crap behind us, nothing we can do now except give the lads some support.

We have a chance of finishing 7th after an awful start, let's do what we do every year and pick ourselves up and start again,

If we get no financial support in the summer and have to sell anyone decent then I agree with getting on their backs, but for now with four games to go let's stick together.

I am distraught over Saturday like any other fan and it will take me a while to get over it but come on boys and girls it could be a lot worse

Believable12 Unbelievable1

Yes lets keep the same set up and start poorly again next season and win nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't know you could read the future by saying how we would start next season, if we get Peanuts back and add another couple of creative signings to Jelavic then I cant see a bad start, but you must be a fortune teller to already know we are going to start badly, negativity here we come - oh yeh whats the lottery numbers for Saturday

Agree0 Disagree0

There's no reason we should have a bad start again. The good run we have been having recently (semi-final excluded) has come from a way of playing that I've not seen from us consistantly for a long time. Getting in their faces, closing them down constantly, forcing mistakes and generally busting a nut from start to finish! We've got the winning formula right there and we've seen that the players are capable of doing it. All we need is for someone to give Moyes a slap and tell him that there isn't a cut off point in the game where the attacking should stop. All this 'sitting back at 1-0 up' business is the thing that needs to go. Football is an entertainment business and we pay good money for that exact reason... Carry over what we've been doing recently into next season and the fans will be lifted which will lift the players which will win us games! Positivity breeds positivity.

Wizard of Osman

Agree0 Disagree0

I think people have realised the key to the start of the season. We need to do our TRANSFER BUSINESS IN THE SUMMER, too many times we have done it on deadline day, and it generally isn't a good day for Evertonians, but if we have a good summer i.e. sign Pienaar and hopefully 1 or 2 more, add to the fact we have Jelavic and Gibbo, then I think this might be the season where we get it right.

Wonder what we will be like if we got off to a good start, we really haven't had a good start since our Champs League season where we started on fire if I remember correctly.

Agree0 Disagree0

This all sounds so nice and cosy..But the problem is Moyes and his negative tactics nothing will ever be achieved under him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Guys we have to keep an eye out for Koppites coming on and winding us up with get rid of Moyesee and hang BK, if there was ever a time to wind us up it is now. I am devastated by the weekend and we bottled it against the Koppites as usual but it doesn't define what we are and how good our team is getting - get over it and move on.

I personally would never sell Moyes as I love the guy, I know his tactics are sometimes baffling but where we have finished and the quality of players we have on a shoestring budget is nothing short of a miracle.

Like Wiz and the poster below him have said I agree with, lets get some creativity in this Summer (EARLY ON AND NOT WHEN THE LEAGUE HAS KICKED OFF) and have a great start next season.

Man utd are there for the taking this weekend too so don't go thinking we will get beat by them.

Oh yeh does anyone know exactly what happened with drenthe at the weekend, keep hearing different stories - Ed what do you know. Also heard he will be signing for the Reds - SO WHAT - BYE BYE, your loss.

Degsybluenose {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware there is no interest from Liverpool and he is being punished for disciplinary infractions, of a repeated nature.}

I don't imagine for a moment that Moyes will be sacked as Kenwright believes he can do no wrong. But I'd hope he leaves before the likes of Distin, Neville, Cahill, Osman and Hibbert inevitably hit the decline and need replacing. With a new manager, under a new brand of Football, I feel this team can do better than what it currently is. {Ed025's Note - no argument from me mate..
