Great game for the viewers tonight but two things cost us the win.
1, poor defending for both their goals.
2, awful decisions.
Neville and osman i dont rate at all. yes against the lower sides they look ok but against the bigger teams there non-existent. why wont moyes put fellaini back in midfield where he should be especially with Gibson out.

Andy

Unbelievable, one minute we are all screaming for the big man up front then the next for him to go into midfield

If you read my post properly it says while gibson is out

Just got home from the match and my phone hasn't stopped with red mates texting to say how well received our tribute to the 96 was. I must admit I did think it was classy and fitting, especially with the eyes of the country on us as well.
Anyway, onto the game. On the whole I didn't think we played that bad, we just didn't have an answer to their 2 centre forwards, oh yeah, and the referee was abysmal. I don't think I've ever seen such a consistently bad display for the full game before, and I don't just mean the disallowed goals, his entire game was woeful, there are better referees in my lads junior league on a Sunday afternoon.
Right rant over, time for bed, got an early start in tle morning.
(Very) Moody Blue (at the moment) {Ed003's Note - I had tears in my eyes with the tribute,goodnight take care}

After that performance from are 2 central midfielders I hope they patch gibbo up as quickly as possible they were shocking, move fellaini back in there and I'd even start heitinga in cm after that it just shows how short we are in that position and how important gibson is,and what a good player he is.

Right, I'm sorry for my language anyone but I'm coming home from the match and really frustrated. Andre Marriner is a bag of rubbish. It was a disgusting display by both him and his linesmen. We clearly deserved to win the game and Newcastles 2 goals come from clearances made by their defenders and found their way to Ba (jammy rubbishs). 2 clear goals were disallowed, I COULD EVEN SEE THAT THEY WERE GOALS FROM THE TOP BALCONY!! It was complete robbery and I hope that the shameful Andre Marriner gets demoted to League One where he belongs.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Andre Marriner wasn't the ref, it was Mike Jones

One of the worse decisions was after Vics goal that wasn't given, when Newcastle attacked, thank god the ref pulled them back when they were through on goal. That was an awful decision although it helped us out by stopping a certain goal.

I was very impressed with mirralas tonight I think we should try him at cm whilst gibson is out he reminds me of artetta before his injury.also I feel anichibe will come good if he can stay fit {Ed025's Note - we played well, but to be honest, osman and neville are not good enough to start, it really shows how light the squad is...they are both good squad players, but if we hope to make europe, we need players with more quality than them..by the way, we should still have won, the felli goal was onside, and vic,s header was over the line..

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Neville and Ossie in the middle are hopeless, regardless of the goal Vic is rubbishe and Mirallas needs to relax and ease into the game and not try to impress early it just makes him looks greedy, he needs to be a playmaker and take his time and the goals will come!

It's worth pointing out that "get out clauses" don't always mean that a club has to do business once the clause is activated. Sometimes it just allows the buying club to approach the player without breaching tap up laws.

In some cases the owning club can still reject the bid. Not all buy out clauses mean the same thing.

Ed I've just read somewhere that Fellaini has a 25 mil buyout clause. Is there any truth in this? {Ed025's Note - there was in his old contract...but i dont know about the new one..

Cheers Ed. I'd be gutted if there was cos i seriously think he's worth 30 mil +

Heard he had 27m "talk to" clause, as in if someone bids 27m they can discuss terms with him without our consent.

Have just bought and read big Nevs book, the bin man chronicles. Can only describe it as a must read to all true blues, a very open and frank book which describes what goes on at our great club and how much of a mis understood person he actually was! Any one else bought the book?

Lots of talk about fellaini every season. Chelsea, Man u, Arsenal, Mancity the people etc have all spent heavily on central midfielders in recent seasons. None of them have come in and made a bid for Feli.
Arsenal bought Arteta, City bought Rodwell, United Kagawa, Chelsea Hazard and about 4 other expensive midfielders -Madrid , Barcelona, PSG, AC milan all bought expensive midfielders, no one came knocking for Feli? How come suddenly after two good games this season (he was poor against West Brom) he's going to walk into one of the big teams? He has an awful injury record, injured for big chunks of the season for the past three years.
Feli has to do the business consistently over the next couple of years to be classed as a 30 million + player. He's signed a 4 year deal with us, other clubs know that so he becomes too expensive for the top sides at his age.
Feli believing his own press again, reporters massaging his ego?Dont get me wrong , i love him to bits but would rather him be a world beater in a blue shirt than a bench warmer elsewere. Get peanuts to have a word with him.

A replacement for Fellaini would be Josip Ilicic of Palermo. But last time I checked he plays for us, and unless that big bid comes in, he will stay with us. Bid comes, we crack on, pocket the huge cash and enjoy spending it on several players. Bid doesn't come, he stays with us... Win win? But who really cares. Goodison under lights, Newcastle, deafening atmosphere and fighting for the 3rd win is all I care about. COYB (accompanied with customary match day clenched fist)

A little question: what would you do if we received a £30m offer in January for Felli?

Personally, I'd hold on for £32.5m or more. Reason being, he has 4years left in his contract, meaning that if we keep him until the summer then it'd still be 3, so he'd still be worth £25m at minimum. If we keep him until the summer then we keep our squad the same this season, which should mean European football, and receive hefty money in the summer for him. That is, of course, assuming he doesn't force anything or refuse to play.

I feel his desire to play European football, as let's face it, someone with his talent is wasting at a team without European football, but he owes us respect until the summer if Moyes wants him to stay until then. He wouldn't be who he is without the help and coaching he's recieved from Everton Football Club.

What's your reckoning Ed and fellow readers and posters?

Keith EFC. {Ed003's Note - to many ifs for me,but £30m ?}
