Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

Despite everything negative that has been said, I'm still doggedly putting my faith in Martinez during this transfer window, as he can't possibly foresee how a player will fit into the team when they arrive, but his transfers have been decent in several examples. When he first arrived, we were desperate for cover in Defence, badly needed a new striker and a reserve keeper. Martinez went and sorted those positions from, naturally his former club (which is very common amongst managers, having worked with players they work well with before) and we got Alcatraz (I know), Kone (I know!)and Joel (Getting there), along with Doofy Loofy (There we go!) to add a touch of wildcard flair. Regardless of their contributions since, Martinez did solve those problems straight away, with relatively little expenditure. Next came McCarthy (Give this man a new contract NOW Bill), Lukaku (Tank driven by a concrete footed squirrel) and Barry (picks up yellow cards like Sonic the hedgehog picks up gold rings) - some had their doubts, but excitement abound and we had a highly competitive season (remember that?!). After that fans were crying out for the permanent signings of Barry and Rom, which, sure enough, happened. McGeady (Chubby sprinter with Riverdance ankles) was a gamble, as he has shown signs of flair in his career (typically better for country rather than club) which didn't pay off, but again, not a huge deal of money spent. Let's not forget some of the youngsters he's signed like Galloway and Henan, who appear to be developing really well. My point is, So far we've got the uninspiring (but at least keen!) King Clevs and the return of the Doofmeister himself and fans are already grumbling. Bobby's had a bad season, but he's not an idiot. He knows what's needed and surely has his targets. Plus he knows he has to win over the fans, so I expect at least one decent surprise this summer, especially if he follows the pattern of previous windows. Also, we've helped revitalize the careers of a few players over the years, so why not Clevs? Chin up blues!

Good post that, I totally agree :-)

17 Jul 2015 22:32:21
Totally agree with the original post. I know we are all entitled to our opinion and rightly so, but with the negativity from some posters it makes you wonder if they would prefer it if the team does badly simply so that they can call Martinez a failure.
We all know that last season was poor and for various reasons, not simply down to the manager. The same manager achieved a record points tally the season before and he should start this season with a clean slate rather than be the subject of ridicule before we have even kicked a ball in anger.
I firmly believe that Martinez is capable of turning things around and no, this is not blind faith. The manager deserves the backing of every supporter going into a new season, after all we all want to achieve the same goal. So, Martinez will have my full backing going into the new campaign, as will every player, regardless of whether I rated them or not before they joined us.

Posted last week praising Delph for loyalty

My mistake, it was a load of tosh, money talks and there is no loyalty whatsoever in football

Believable3 Unbelievable3

17 Jul 2015 19:25:26
And the worry for us is stones is only on 30 grand a week imagine what will be going through his head now.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jul 2015 20:37:57
Said it before and will say it again. Agents would go out of business if their charges showed any loyalty to their clubs. Delphi agent probably broke out into a hot sweat when he said he was staying at Villa. So a little chat with City about showing they really want him (more money), and off the player goes with more money in his pocket, and a nice fat wedge for the now happy agent. Oh forgot to mention the real reason he wants to sign of course is he wants to win trophies?

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Jul 2015 23:47:04
stones will stay take 40m for us to even consider imo

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 00:33:32
Perhaps the fact that Villa are selling their only decent forward has made him realize that blind loyalty does not equal ambition. We can expect similar problems if we let Stones go. The likes of McCarthy will question their futures.

Agree1 Disagree1

18 Jul 2015 00:42:28
What do poeple expect? he's knows he will never get a chance to sign for a champions league team again so why do poeple jump to loyalty when poeple leave clubs.

He's not a life long villa fan wernt brought up with the club in his heart so even though we know it's to fill the home grown quota why do poeple think a player wuddent think of moving from a club that won't win a thing to a club to one that will challenge for everything, get some perspective he ain't moving to someone with less ambition and with all due respect may not get the chance again

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Jul 2015 11:48:07
So apparently we have rejected 20m for Stones, we CANNOT sell him for anything. It will show the clubs ambition if we let him go for cheap (25-35m or something like that). Kenwright, don't you DARE even think about it. Do not think about any player swap deals. Please, we cannot lose him, get your balls and swing them around the room shouting 'NNNNOOOOOOOOO'. If we sell him, I'm done, honestly, was not bothered about Rodwell or Fellaini but I will be gutted and really pissed off if we even consider letting him go. Dig deep Bill, I don't give a rats arse about all your other (many) faults just please stand your ground on this one and DO NOT SELL HIM.

So I take it you're not sitting on the fence on this one Swan. Love your post mate. And totally agree with you. This kid loves it at Everton as do all our young players.

I don't think this will happen and I desperately don't want it to either

Agree1 Disagree1

17 Jul 2015 13:57:18
I agree Swan. I wondered why we were interested in Evans. He's rubbish. We need to keep our best players and not sell them.I just hope that Kenwright has the sense to keep him.

30million plus ivanovoc minimum

Agree0 Disagree1

17 Jul 2015 22:58:23
If sterling is rated at 49 mil then stones has got to be around the 40 mil bracket .Thiis is typical mouriniho tactics gets the captain to rate the lad publicly then throws a low bid in to try and unsettle the player will then try an d throw in a few squad players in to the deal and then ultimately pay the price .When Jose has his eye on you he will do whatever it takes to get him he sees stones at the back for them as there future and even if we do resist this year it will only be a matter of time before there back cheque book in hand .I hope we can keep him as he is starting to look the real deal but if he does go it has to be major money to take him .

Agree2 Disagree1

17 Jul 2015 23:50:47
lol love it swan

18 Jul 2015 00:47:26
Whether we like it or North stones hasn't been part of the first team, played in as many England games or participated in any champs league games as rage em or plays the position that brings most rewards and plaudits, he has immense potential but that's it at the min so talking 50m is ridiculous, between 25 - 35 is we're he falls but I wuddent sell for that whether the board will is a different matter

Agree0 Disagree2

18 Jul 2015 07:59:54
Luke shaw went for 30m mike and he had only had 1 season in the prem and hadnt had nowere near the stats stones had last season. IMHO £40m-£50m is the going rate as with the quota on English players in your squad/team coming into play, if you don't develop your own you pay over the odds. Just look at Sterling he went for more than city paid for aguero, and isn't half the player aguero is.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 14:42:53
Lovren went for 20m

All the so called blues who decided to use any rumour to slag off Martinez must be feeling pretty stupid now! Post after post y'day evening slating Martinez simply because a journalist decided to make up a story about us being intrested in Johnny Evans. Surely most of you are old enough and wise enough (maybe) to understand that rumours sell papers. Yet a lot of you decide to use any rumour to have yet another go at are manager. It's embarrassing reading through half your posts, why not wait until we have actually signed a player before sending in your posts claiming 'this is the end for everton' its embarrassing to slate your own team but even worse to slate your manager for being linked with a player he has no interest in!!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

17 Jul 2015 12:17:05
He also denied interest in McGeady too.

17 Jul 2015 19:11:19
I agree how dare fans have an opinion about the way we played last year, after all we were nothing short of mind numbingly boring, I agree poeple jump in too quick sometimes but if you think he covered himself in glory last year your wrong and fans have the right to air it

So how much will it take before we cave in to Chelsea I reckon 25 mill with add ons.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

17 Jul 2015 11:52:16
Hopefully for nothing but I would not be suprised with 25m and someone garbage like Bamford or Mikel on loan.

Just read they have come in with an improved figure of 26 million.

Aye 26 mill is that for 1 leg

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2015 11:10:03
will we be the Southampton this season and sell all our better players ed we are going to find it hard to turn down bids the players will surly want to go and play for teams like Chelsea and work with jose I know 20m is not even close when u think that clown across the way went for 49m and he only plays for 10 games a season hard times coming for everton fans the cash will be spent badly that's if we get any from the tight board.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

17 Jul 2015 17:46:05
Would u really trust muppet Martinez to bring in quality players even if he had the dosh.

dont think we sell anyone maybe miralles mmmmm lukaku, mccarthy, deulofeu, galloway, henen great buys three players you mentioned cost nothin barry robles decent buys for basically nothin kone injuries, will judge this season pretty good signings imo more to come let's just wait to see we will make two good signings before window shuts i'm sure also kept garbutt happy

Well in Martinez for squashing that rumour about Evans so quick 👍

Believable3 Unbelievable0

17 Jul 2015 10:38:46
Yeah but the bad new is that he also stated he is not after a new striker in this window WTF!

17 Jul 2015 10:24:21
Martinez has come out and said there is no truth in Everton pursuing Evans. Just goes to show you can not believe anything written by the papers

Believable1 Unbelievable0

17 Jul 2015 08:41:33
If this Evans rumour is true god help us.I don't have to tell you how bad he is you've seen it first hand when he plays (if he's fit) What the hell is happening to our once great club,we are now reduced to buying other terms injury prone cast offs that no other team would touch with two shit@y sticks.Where the hell is all this sky money going? Ppockets being lined or what? to the detriment of us falling behind not just the big four but teams like west ham, stoke, swansea

17 Jul 2015 08:36:29
. well that's a big relief.Bobby has come out & said we're not signing Evans this morning & dismissed it as lazy journalism. all is forgiven then for now!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

17 Jul 2015 08:04:11
Evans rumours have been dismissed! Every man and his dog said it was nearly done, so goes to show we can't listen to the papers! Let's just see what happens

Believable1 Unbelievable0

17 Jul 2015 08:01:02
Martinez says in press conference that we have no interest in signing evans from utd

Believable1 Unbelievable0

17 Jul 2015 07:48:51
Looks like all this Evans lark was just lazy newspaper talk thank god. Bob has turned round and said the back up CB will be Galloway and Browning to be fair I'd prefer this to buying a donkey like Evans let's save are money and spend big on the ACM/No10 plus as fans we are always asking for youth to be given a chance it would be hard to up root jags and stones to be fair and we ain't spending 8mil on someone to sit on the bench (I hope).

Believable1 Unbelievable0

17 Jul 2015 10:49:42
The way both Browning and Galloway performed against Stoke both were a much better than Evans anyway, so it not an issue for me. Also liked RM stating that we are building a team around Jimmy Mac which if we are going to sell, which I don't think we are, bumps his price right up. Two good interviews for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2015 07:09:00
Please tell me we are not signing Evans Ed? he's awful. What are we Manchesters retirement home? Poor summer once again the manager ain't a clue I'd of booted him out after last seasons comedy series.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Everton spoke to United about him, that is all. Judging by the comments over night, I would think that the price was too high with his injury history.}

17 Jul 2015 06:54:04
WTF is going on at my club spurs going to offer lennon and cash for jimmy mc and we are again linked with that donkey Evans and to make matters worse the dark side are adding some quality looks like we're shopping in pound land ffs

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I don't believe there is anything in the McCarthy rumours right now. Everton are not looking to let him go, along with Coleman and Stones.}

17 Jul 2015 03:06:05
Living in the states I have virtually no access to any source of rumors; but I have heard our very own Statue of Liberty has been relocated to the Goodison grounds and is now facing Old Trafford. The plaque has been changed to read: "bring of your wounded, your injured, your underachievers . ' Oh dear, my mistake, it is only Johnny Evans showing the lads his vertical jumping ability.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

17 Jul 2015 07:11:05
What pisses me off is that United know when they have a mediocre player they can just sell to Everton because we stupid like that. Bloody ANNOYED.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jul 2015 02:40:45
I'm probably going to get stick here but! Is Evans as bad a deal if he signs? I'd put him in the same bracket as Gibson.if he signs at least let us judge him before a competitive ball is kicked, same with cleverly on that matter.let them play.if bad then fair enough but let them have a go first.it's doom and gloom recently on here,so let's have chin up,stand proud as blues and get behind whoever signs for us.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

{Ed025's Note - the sentiment is good dentie, but i think supporters were expecting that with the sky money injection that we would be looking at some quality signings, i know its still early but the omens dont seem great mate..

17 Jul 2015 07:18:34
Well said Dentie

Agree2 Disagree1

17 Jul 2015 01:20:24
The summer break left me feeling that RM should be given more time after I wanted him gone last season. However, his signings/proposed signings so far make me think that I was right. The longer RM stays the more likely we are to implode. Awful signings + awful tactics = awful season. We'll be in a real battle this season.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

17 Jul 2015 01:19:28
I think that the vast majority accept the we do not have the same budgets as many other sides, losing out to teams like w/ham and stoke is humiliating enough, but then going on to spend what little we have on dross like evens is almost a sign of insanity. Apparently he is to replace that great c/back he brought from wigan and we all know what a success that was. I want martinez gone, but, he is just the public face of those idiots in the boardroom, until we get rid of them we will continue to struggle to achieve anything.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed003's Note - I know my job is to be an ed but could you at least check your post before sending,thanks.}

16 Jul 2015 23:11:46
evans rumours are getting strong ed any truth in them I was over the moon when dann signed a new deal I think I would be happy if evans signed a new deal with mancs as well

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - It looks like it will be done.}
