Agreed wholeheartedly, but I'm disappointed we didn't sign six players today.

Exciting season ahead.

I have faith that RK will sign only the right players to fit his plans.

Hi Ed don't know if you have the seen the piece from Royal Blue Mersey, hope you have what a brilliant piece of journalism which makes a change to most of the stuff that has been written, I see on here that there are still the doubters and the usual moaners but this is the true Everton that is happening aren't I glad Mr Moshiri came our way and also the way he praises Bill RK and SW long may it continue, GuernseyBlue.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i too believe the club is in a good place GB, it may take a bit of time till we are up with the elite mate but we are certainly going in the right direction..

17 Aug 2016 16:40:33
Artical saying we would have to pay 20m for docklands site, but if the local aurthority where to grant everton outline planning consent for housing on the goodision site and surroundind land, then this would cover a considerable portion of the 20m if sold to a developer!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

17 Aug 2016 17:04:51
I assume that's 20 mill for the land then a good 300 mill for a new stadium. It takes the pee really, a modern stadium/ retail park, look up the Friends Arena/ Mall of Scandinavia in Stockholm could eclipse the trafford centre and be the retail, dining mecha of the north west.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Aug 2016 18:54:45
Its prime land in Liverpool and one of the most famous waterfronts in the world. I thought it was going to be more, a lot more. This actually makes it more realistic.

The big problem with this area is that we can't have retail. We won't make much money with just bars and restaurants. Retail brings people at most times of the day and 7 days a week which fills the bars and restaurants. More people means higher rents we can charge that feeds the sites business which aids the cost of the stadium and surrounding site. Also, helps massively with commercial enterprises.

We can't have retail because of L1.

It's complicated beyond belief and I don't know anywhere near yhe ins and outs of it but with any development it comes down to maximising the area and creating a consistent and busy area.

Housing and even a hotel could help which peel is looking to do. Whether they think a stadium is going to help this I wouldn't think so as this would devalue the properties if its housing but might help the hotel.

I wonder what protests we may get from the Echo arena if we use it for anything other than football and it treads on their toes. Like L1 we would get similar protests from them on use of it.

Basically only god knows.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - but gods an evertonian john so we should be ok mate.. :)

17 Aug 2016 20:28:35
Tbf John you raise some valid points but the Echo arena has limitations with regards to capacity. Boxing for example can sell massive amounts of tickets and could out sell the capacity the Echo has. Suppose if we throw on an athletics track we open the door for these sorts of events. There are a lot of sporting events we could utilise the stadium for without the need for retail, and therefore still bring in the revenue. The docklands site is what I want as an evertonian as it will be the best stadium in our city and at the heart of the city were the original football side belongs.

17 Aug 2016 21:03:43
Long time since I've posted. Before we all get excited about the Docks project, ask one question. Will the Council give permission for this, Walton Hall Park or even a re-development of Goodison. I wouldn't hold your breath. Everything we have wanted to do at Goodison has always had to be carried out within the Goodison 'footprint'. Council have fell over themselves time and time again for those across the park, but for Everton nothing. I've even heard that they still haven't given permission to tart up Goodison.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Aug 2016 00:59:16
When both Walton park and redevelopment of Goodison was put on the table our bank account was very different. I for one don't care if the mayor sits in the second row of the park end every home game they are still a politician and they are a*******s and it's all about the money. So now Everton can pay more or less whatever the mayor or whoever it is that decides that stuff the made up price that they think we should pay. Think some parts of this city still want us to be the poor relative that nobody takes seriously but we have got the cash and we have got the man that has the brass balls to push through whatever is put in the way to get it done. I have always be Loud and proud with my support for this club so I suggest to all blues that have not got the memo yet cheer the f up good times are here to stay.

Considering how well Koeman's name is known on the World Stage, it would seem strange - that if a fair percentage of rumours are supposedly true - with his names inability to attract that Marquee signing.

17 Aug 2016 16:12:18
Wonder if that's why moshiri made that stateeny the other day, about wanting more. Basically telling bill to spend spend spend and get the signings done.

Agree1 Disagree1

17 Aug 2016 21:06:46
It is easy to spend spend spend, a lot harder to get the right players in it will take time. We have to become a team in the top half of the table first to be become more attractive to top players.
It took Man City ad Chelsea a few years to become top Euro teams after the money came in and it is harder now.
We will do it but maybe not just yet guys.

Hey lads Sunderland fan in peace!

Just curious is there any concrete source for the McCarthy Kone swap deal or is it just what people are after. I know Sunderland have been linked with McCarthy but haven't red anything about a swap deal?

Also Everton fans what are your opinions of McCarthy? Any good.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

17 Aug 2016 14:20:27
FTM I suspect they are just rumours I rate McCarthy and RK will probably not want to let him go as he is being used as a RWB cover while Coleman is injured. He played well on Saturday so RK may well keep him there if he uses a back 3 again. McCarthy started his EFC career really well but went of the boil last season as did the majority of the team. So if we do sell him whoever gets him will be getting a quality player.

Good luck for the rest of the season except for two fixture of course.

17 Aug 2016 14:41:26
Cheers Sa90. As long as we keep Kone I will be happy. I have no doubt that McCarthy would have been am improvement on carts and would compliment our midfield very well. You to mate hope yous do well for the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2016 21:09:19
McCarthy may be a better player for Moyes than he was for Martinez as Moyes is a much better manager and a new club could be right for him.
All you Sunderland fans trust Moyes and your days of relegation fears will be behind you.

I would love it if everton could pull off a double deal with Lyon for ghezzal and lacazette. Would really show we mean business and then Joe Hart on loan, with a view to buy next season if we guarantee some sort of European football. Failing lacazette I'd be very tempted to throw money in for slimani, or both if rom goes, he's unbelievably good in the air with 2 good feet, looks really suited to the Prem from what I've seen of him. I also think we should get zyiech from twente. Their finances are in disarray so he's going to leave this summer regardless of wether it's us or not. You may think I'm deluded but there's no way I think Koeman would of left Southampton with out guaranteed transfer funds. We've all heard about this 'warchest' and with the stones money and possible likely sale of rom it should be achievable. The majority of players these days are mercenaries and with that squad I truly believe we'll be pushing for top 4.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

17 Aug 2016 13:44:55
Cant argue with any of that tbh. Lacazette is not as unrealistic now as it would have been 3 weeks ago imo. However i still think the chances would be slim. If i'm being picky i'd rather keep rom than slimani but a good replacement if he does go. Futures bright lads.

According to arseblog who are a respected blogger, Usmanov is ready to sell his stake and join his pal at the mighty Blues, now I know it could be bollox and all i'm doing is reporting a rumour, just before some people start moaning.

Ive always thought this could happen and am quietly confident it will, there were huge rumours from Russia a while back, also Farhad only buying 49.9%, then again I love a good conspiracy theory

Ed 2 I would like to post your comment myself if you don't mind mate, as follows

(Usmanov will not be buying into Everton)

😄😄😄😄😄.

17 Aug 2016 11:45:50
I read the same thing Murf. Can't see any future for Usmanov at Arsenal seeing that he is not on the board and has no relationship with Kroenke, but who will buy the shares? Maybe Kroenke but it is a lot of money about 0.3 to 0.4B pounds and I am not sure why he would want to do that seeing that he has full control now. It is going to be interesting to see how this pans out. Would be great if he did come to Everton though.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2016 11:47:30
Although I don't pay much attention to media gossip if you look at there business history and relationship, I still think there is more from this takeover/ Investment than what we know Moshri has bought controlling stake is what I understand with rest sat on board we know Moshri is pulling the strings but it would not surprise me one bit if Usmanov did join let's be fair he is a wealthy man and we are talking one of richest in world, who is stuck with 30%shares with no say so when you look at facts this all makes sense let Moshri sell his stakes take over Everton while usmanov can have no say don't forget they still have ties and are still business partners it's not like Moshri has gone it alone they still run other companies together. Future is good either way Moshri will be good for us but if Usmanov came in we could be talking an elite club.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2016 21:27:42
I'm a red and I'm probably the only one who actually wants use at the top again like ourselves. Hate the fact Manchester are trying to get top of the tree domestically and worldwide. Merseyside is where football was made.

Now, do you really want usmanov?

Your doing ****ing boss atm actual owner with a clue about football, sets out a plan and achieves it. Our owners wanted there plan and (they have been great) but didn't have the nuts to just do it. Ended up with comollis, transfer comitees. And so on.

Moshri looks the absolute business.

Just for a second look at what usmanovs leadership is doing dwn at arsenal. Yes Wenger has his way of working but aslong as there making money there is no pressure on him to actually win the league etc, now want to spend to achieve. INVEST.

I wouldn't want him in moshris ear.

You would have more money but would it get spent? Would it not just be for the shareholders.

I have the arsenal argument every year when people say there successful. Every year we all believe we can win the keague, all the cups, buy all thee players and so on. There's is we will finish 4th. They already no there season. The fans are dead, no hope.

Steer clear moshri lad your doing a good job.

All the best this year lads. Just smash the mancs and cockneys for us.

17 Aug 2016 22:43:06
To be fair supermane, usmanov hasn't got any control at Arsenal which is why this rumour keeps popping up. He wants to be on the board and he wants to spend cash but Kroenko (think that's his name) just won't entertain the idea. There is also a long standing relationship between usmanov and moshiri, they have been business partners for a long time. I would be elated if he sold up his shares in the gunners to join us but I don't think it is about to happen, just rumours due to the fact the two men are friends mate.

Fair enough spud lad. My entire post was dedicated to kronke.

Be boss if you get this fella then.

Really jealous of how its all clicking into place for you, but happy at the same time.

Haven't had a proper derby for ages. Forget us winning, Rodgers and Martinez sucked the life out of both teams. Spirit, fire, passion.

Koeman and klopp. Barkers vs hendo. Should be heated, lively and a proper f**king derby.

Good luck again for the season.

Still don't want use above us though. Sorry 😉.

Exciting rumour on Everton first news about Usmanov potential to sell up his 30% of Arsenal and buy in with Moshiri (I assume over the next couple of years) depending on Kenwright's plans etc.
This would surely be incredibly exciting and really put us amongst the elite.
I'm so delighted at how the club is moving forward whilst seemingly doing it in the right way. COYB
I'd also like to echo other people's pistols recently about Bill Kenwright. He has had so much stick over the years and I think a lot of people are going to owe him a big apology. When you think back to the Johnson days.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane says James Rodriguez will stay at the Bernabeu this summer.
That now leaves Isco or Julian Draxler as the possible signing for Everton after former player on Twitter Danny Gabbidon suggested the other night that Everton were after one of three players.

Can anyone tell me why we haven't moved for Begovic yet? Reckon he has to be the best target in terms of goalkeeper, surely! Howard still not replaced and I would take Hart ( think he's just short of confidence) but reckon Begovic would be a cheaper option and as good if not better.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

17 Aug 2016 09:16:39
I feel if we take Joe Hart you will see a different goalkeeper. He hasn't really been challenged at Man City and I think he will have a point to prove if he were to move to us. I really think we could get the best out of him.

Well it's a good job we're not in Europe this season because that third kit is embarrassing. So hopefully we'll not have to use it too much.

Two things that need to change.

Unbro. Yes they have a rich history, but they're a brand in decline.

Chang. A junior shirt should be no different from an adults in appearance. No booze and no betting please. That way there is no difference between what I wear and what my children wear.

I do hope that FM is going to look closely at this.

I would take Jo Hart. The lad is a winner and we need that sort in the team. He's certainly not passed it and can still learn and improve.

If RK wants him then I'll trust he'll be good enough.

I think an initial loan deal with option to buy would be the best option if we could get it. Guy was iffy in the euro's and I wonder how he'd cope with more shots reigning down on goal, certainly have more work to do playing for us than City.

Hi all, would like to see us sign 3 more players Sissoko 30m with Galloway going to them on loan. Kone from Sunderland in a straight swap for McCarthy and Sliman for 22m. TBH personally don't want Hart he has been poor for the past 15 months and shows no signs of turning that around. Stekelenburg deserves a run in the team could turn out to be like Van Der Saar was for United both left from Fulham as Stek was only on loan to Southampton. With all these new signings I think we will need to off load a few players, Kone, Gibson, Cleverly, McAidey and Niasse. If we get Sissoko I would listen to offers for Lennon about 4m.

Believable3 Unbelievable3
