BREAKING NEWS
Got a feeling Mr Drenthe will be playing his football in Liverpool next year, but not in a blue shirt..
Drenthe could talk to any club he liked outside of Spain from the end of January, we believe he has done so and in depth talks
The midfielder has also purchased a house in Hale and submitted planning permission for an extension, odd for a loan signing... {Ed025's Note - dont believe all you hear!...

Possible signing in summer - Matija Nastasic - v promising Fiorentina defender from Serbia - would be available for about £4 million. This wld be all our likely transfer activity (as well as perhaps Pienaar or Straq full time) unless we sell a big player(s)

Good evening fellow Blues, I'm after a few some ideas and suggestions if anyone can help me please?
I was recently listening to the new Paul Weller album, which includes a track called Study In Blue.
Personally, I think it's the best track on the album and I got to thinking about other songs with the word Blue in the title with a view to putting together a compilation album on my music player.
Apart from the obvious classics such as New Order's Blue Monday (which was very apt after the last weekend) and Bowie's Blue Jean I was wondering if anyone else out there has any other suggestions. I think if I could come up with a few, say 20 or so, it would make a cracking album to listen to during the summer break when I'm having serious Toffee withdrawal symptoms.
All suggestions gratefully accepted.

Hallam hope has cane off the bench for the reserves in the 89th minute and scored to make it 1-0 against bolton, The lad usually only plays for the under 18's but he seems to score at every level (including international), one for the future definently!

The talk this morning in the Liverpool Echo in Alan Hansen column believes that David Moyes should quit Goodison. Does anyone think he will quit and move to a top 4 club in the premiership. {Ed025's Note - who is that lily livered idiot to tell anyone what to do..if he had any bottle, he would be involved in the running of a side...and not as a smug pundit!

Well said Ed025. Can't you tell 'handball' hansen is queen kenny's mate with comments like that. This is the same player who handled the ball off the line in one of the first derby's to be played at Wembley in the 80's. The eejit is RS through and through and has just used his column to have a cheap pop at Moyes. Personally I think he's shi**ing himself now; firstly because we're going to finish above them in the league and secondly because after watching the way Chelski played on Sunday the RS should get their ar*es kicked in the final next month. If both these things happen then who's the better manager? Moyes, who spent next to nothing but spent it wisely or queen kenny who's spent a kings ransom on vastly overated players and only got a tin pot trophy to show for it?

Yeah but Steve, he's right. You're stuck with a dismal record in the PL (especially in the context of the money you have spent), you have a meaningless cup and are about to get badly embarassed in the FA Cup Final. Oh yeah- and as a statement of fact- we are above you in the PL. What is pathetic about that? What's pathetic is being stuck with nothing better to do than excite yourself of other teams forums.

Comments like that from Hansen don't surprise me, he's red through and through and takes every opportunity he can too have a cheap pop at us, he is constantly degrading and belittling us on Match Of The Day.
He is just HOPING that Moyes goes incase Everton receive investment because he knows and everyone knows Everton with Moyes and with Money will be very dangerous.
Crawl back to punditry Hansen because that's all your good for

I personally think now is the time for Mr Moyes to pack his bags and head off up North where he wants to go, back to Celtic. Thank you for the past ten years but what for. You have had ten years to build and make a team worthy of challenging for Europe. You had Europe in the palm of your hand at the weekend. What did you do. Same old same old. 4.5.1. With no imagination. Score a great goal and then park the bus. Remember mr Moyes, you are a Scot, not an Italian. this is England and Everton. Score and score again. Not sit back and let those Reds attack. They're not called lucky Liverpool for nothing. Why didn't we attack and finish them off. Because Mr Moyes wanted the bus to stay where it was.
We all know that LFC always raise their game when playing us so why oh why didin't we raise ours? A great opportunity to get to the FA Cup final with a guarantee of European Football next season, win or lose. Really don't think he or the boys wanted it.
New blood please from the top to the bottom. Mr Kenwright. Please sell for what it is worth and not what you want. Give new owners a chance to buy at the right price and invest.
Thoughts please!!! {Ed025's Note - as you know, im not davids biggest fan, but lets be fair, with the financial constraints put upon him, he has done a great job, but i do agree that we spurned a great chance last saturday, and it was down to negative tactics and lack of self belief by the players..
Believable6
Unbelievable5
Who else would you have come in and do the job then? Coz I think if moyes was to go we would be battling relegation year after year again as no one could of done and still do what moyes has done at Everton, so be careful what you wish for, you would rather us keep making steady progress with moyes or get a new manager in and it goes t*ts up and we get relegated!!

TEAM AGAINST MAN UNITED
Howard
Hibbert Jagielka Heitinga Baines
Barkley Fellaini Gibson Pienaar
Osman
Jelavic {Ed025's Note - hibbo, jags, and leon would not be in my side..
Believable2
Unbelievable3
Hibbert= Better and quicker than Neville so perfect for against Young/Nani/Valencia
Jags= Mobile and reads game better than anyone so perfect for Man United's intricate passing in and around the box and plus Distin needs a rest.
Osman= Provides more attacking threat and is more creative than Cahill behind Jelavic, so would have him before Cahill at the moment. {Ed025's Note - hibbert...nice guy, loyal...never be a footballer as long as hes got a hole in his a***...jags, good player, not very quick, not as consistant as distin, poor distribution....osman, lightweight, inconsistant, goes missing too often...just my opinion..
Agree0

He will not play Barkley never mind start him! Gueye will be playing there

Hibbert is a great player, bit harsh on him Ed, done nothing wrong? And Heitinga reads the game MUCH better than Jags mate. {Ed025's Note - i like hibbo, hes just not a premiership footballer for me...and your right about jonny!..

personally i would start playing straqualursi with jelavic and also throw ross barkley in behind them because for me timmy cahill looks like e has lost his fight and desire also if i was moyes i would give drente one more chance as it kill us evertonians to let a talent like that to go to the reds**te and him to come back and hurt us like a certain mr rooney also come on chelsea in the final make us blues happy in the final cos only for distin makeing a schoolboy error they wouldnt be there anyway we had the game under control till then are well we will have to do it all again next season lets all be positive blues and get some sort of a result at old trafford on saturday gibson winner hopefully ha ha come on the blueboys moysey go out and attack the mancs coyb {Ed025's Note - myself..i dont thing straqula is the answer..he is too similar to jelly, we need someone mobile and quick to feed off jellys fine hold up play..

if everton bring in pranjic, and adam johnson and hopefully a rb, and a cam, we will be were we want as our problem at the start of the season is not getting goals and we have jelavic now...say we have this team next year we will be top 6 easy.
GK: Howard
RB: Pranjic or Coleman
CB: Jagielka/Distin
CB: Heitinga
LB: Baines
RDM: Gibson
LDM: Fellaini
RAM: Johnson
CAM: Cahill or Barkley
LAM: Pienaar
ST: Jelavic
makings of a decent team...
Pranjic is free
Johnson 7mill
Pienaar 4 mill
i wouldnt mind trying for a new cam or rb, someone who is talented but not settled..like Charles N'zogbia or Doyle if wolves to be relegated
who would be tempted in luke young or figouria if wigan and qpr were to go down?

Fellaini wants signings,
"I would love for us to get in some reinforcements, It would make us more competitive.
"I hope that the chairman will be able to loosen the purse strings during the summer."
Me and you both Marouane... Although loosening the strings is not effective when there's nothing in the purse mate.
I just hope it's not a case of him saying buy, or I leave.

I reckon moyes will come through and realize that we really do need drenthe. For someone who can make such an impact on a free, this isn't somethin moyes usually turns down. He'll give him one last chance and hopefully drenthe will appreciate it and express his talent! (that's if drenthe wants to sign)

Mate, Moyes isn't a forgiving manager, you piss him off, then that is the end for you. He has done it in the past, and will probably do it again, that is just his managing style.
Drenthe is gone, won't be coming back, sad but true.

Moyes is too comfy in the Everton role at the moment, too negative when it matters in big games look at his record against bigger teams.

True Stef. As you say, a bit of investment is still needed, but I think it's time we started filtering through the youth. Yes, it has to be a gradual process but our team isn't getting any younger so action needs to be taken very soon. AVB more or less tried dropping the old boys at Chelsea all at once and it didn't work. I takes time. The younger lads need to play with the experienced ones to feed off their knowledge first. It's no good throwing them in at the deep end when the likes of Cahill, Hibbert, Neville, Distin and Osman retire.
A combination of fresh faces with the vast experience of our current players is the way to go for me. Needs to happen soon.... Starting with Barkley.
Wizard of Osman

I want him gone a fresh change is needed and my choice of replacement would be Paul Lambert. {Ed025's Note - if he does go?..lambert, rodgers, and martinez would be on my shortlist..
Agree0

Moyes needs that bit of investment if any manager deserves a chance to spend money its him look what he did with little money imagine what hed do with money he deserves that chance and hopefully he gets it with us [Stef the blue {Ed025's Note - with big money, comes a lot of expectation stef.. bargain buys is davids trademark, i dont know if i would trust him with a blank cheque book..

Not only that he's not an expansive manager either and no amount of money will change that.

Can any of u guys shed any light on the Europa cup placing? Will we qualify in 7th due to Chelsea in fa cup final the red s**te already winning the mickey mouse cup before.just not sure if we still have a shot at it?..thanks
Westy

Alright Westy,
Nope Europe is out for another season, we can not qualify.
There are 3 Europa League places for England, 5th in the League, Carling Cup Winners and FA Cup Winners.
So if Chelski finish 5th and win the cup then the 6th placed side in the League would qualify along with the RS. Even if Chelski finish 6th and do or don't win the cup they'd still qualify because Spurs would already be in Europe.
So our only chance of Europe is finishing 6th, which lets face it, as much as I want us too, isn't going to happen.
Hope that clears it up!

Not unless Chelsea win the champions league and dont finish top 4 right? Then there's 4 for UCL and 3 for Europa. Correct me if im wrong!
AussieBlue

If Chelski win the Champions League and finish out of the top 4 then they go back into the Champions League and then the team that finishes 4th drops down to the Europa League. So it would go to Arsenal/Spurs/Newcastle. Is that ok?

Mornin blues ,
I haven't had the heart to come and read the posts here after the weekend so forgive me if someone has already posted this earlier.
Does anyone think that whatever caused drenthe to get disciplined and dropped had a negative impact on the team and was a distraction whereas everything that happened to the RS in the lead up to the game had a positive effect that bonded them in adversity.
It only looked like us in flashes during the game. I'm not blaming the action taken against him just his actions that caused it prior to such a big game!
Big C still gutted! {Ed025's Note - not a factor for me big c..we just bottled it mate, when it came to the big stage we froze again, we need to find that winning mentality, and strength of character ..
Believable3

I don't see how the Drenthe situation affected the team, because for the majority of the first half we were the better team. The thing that screwed us over was Moyes' "tactics" in the 2nd half
