Hi ed told you 2 weeks ago about jelavic. His heart is, nt in the club should sell him to west ham and get 5m +diame. Then buy a defender rolander or. Alderweireld. Would also get rid of the crap. Naismith, anichebe, Duffy, heitinga.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Since when was duffy crap? he's not been given a chance to prove himself yet!

Agree0 Disagree0

Anichebe, Crap?! Are you an person? Although he didn't get the goals you would hope for from a target man, his hold up and link up play was fantastic and he was a key reason we scored so many as a team. Duffy hasn't been given a proper chance yet, but has impressed me whenever he has played, as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you're living on a cloud Vinny. "get rid of the crap". Duffy is not crap. And if you're judging it by Sunday's FRIENDLY MATCH then you're the most unfair person on this planet. If you are judging it by one match, most of our team is crap as no player had a 100% 'good game record'.

It isn't Duffy's fault that Moyes thought "After Rooney got sold because he was a great young player, I will play no young players ever again. That way other teams don't see how good they are. "

What are everyone else's thoughts on Duffy?

Agree0 Disagree0

Heitinga wants to go, so let him, but the others I feel I need to defend slightly mate. Duffy was poor in the Vienna game, but he's young and still got good potential. Jelavic will benefit from playing in a more suitable position and fed more by the players around him, which will happen a lot more when paired with Kone. Big Victor just had probably his best season and, even though he's not got a great finish, each time I saw him play at home, he was strong, committed and held the ball up well. He gives us a different option tactically and if it could only sink in how terrifying he could be to a defence, he'll build on what he did last season. And Naismith makes a mean cup of Bovril. Can't have the lads missing out on that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't you remember how Duffy played when we had an injury crisis a few years back and showed such maturity when he was only a teen, jheez some fans just love to hate.

Agree0 Disagree0

I love how he says Jelavic's heart isn't in the club. Now I don't know 100% about him, but the fact that he ended his holidays early so he can travel up to Austria to see the boys and watch them play, hardly represents a player that doesn't want to be here.

Don't think Duffy is crap either, he is young and a CB, they take time to develop, and need consistent game time, which is why I would think a loan would be a really good move for him at this stage, get him consistent game time, and then we can see if he can make the grade or not.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep agree with the last poster, he came back off holiday early and headed up to Austria to be with the team and travelled home with them. Doesn't seem like a player who is disilusioned to me.

Hi Guys,

I don't like our new assistant manager, Jones.
I have studied body language, as a hobby and a job (Sad I know) and this fella brings up all sorts of alarms for me.

Very defensive, as if he's got something to hide.
No passion, no excitement, no. Umph!

Just my opinion anyway

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I completely respect your opinion, but did Steve Round have any "umph"?!

Agree0 Disagree0

The lad has been with Roberto from the start, no offence mate, but I would take Roberto's judgement on the lad over yours.

Agree0 Disagree0

He does sound incredibly thick in his interview. He couldn't even pronounce Jelavic's name properly.

Does anyone know when the new away kit and alternate kit will be announced? Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Usually week or so before the season starts

Would love if our big signing was Xherdan Shaqiri from Bayern Munich. He's strong, fast and skilful, plus would probably cost around 12 million. Bayern are willing to listen to offers for him aswell. Does anyone know of any interest? I know Liverpool are supposed to be interested. Would be amazing for us to line out next season with Shaqiri at RM, Deulofeu at LM, Fellaini and Gibson in CM and Mirallas playing behind Jelavic or Kone.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

12 million?! I think you'll find Munich are looking for double that. Besides, he will be a future star for them, so a loan move to Hamburg is probably more likely.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a chance but would be unfathomably happy if we pulled this off
Quinny

And dump Pienaar - Bainesy's best link up - on the bench.

Nice thinking.

Who do we all think we'll get for a replacement for Baines if he leaves? For me, it's Aly Cissokho

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hasn't cissokko stalled abit since his early promise

Agree0 Disagree0

Bryan Oviedo.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's regressed, if anything.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Dandan. Oviedo looks good on the ball each time he's been let out of his bubble wrap to play. Besides, it's what he was brought in for in the first place, wasn't it? He's certainly talented and while Baines is outstanding, I think we already have a natural successor to him (one day) in the form of the plucky Costa Rican. I'd like to see Baines and Oviedo link up more, like Bainsey and Peanuts - who looked like he was running out of ideas at times last season.

Ayone think Martinez should ask/tell Mirrallas to be a bit less greedy?

Mirrallas is great when he scores from a slim chance by keepig the ball himself, but he often does not pass when he should

it's a fine balance - but I think he is just slightly on the greedy side to the detriment of his teammates sometimes- like the fluffed chance against Vienna when he tried to round the keeper instead of passing to teammate on pen spot

Believable0 Unbelievable0

But then messi looses the ball the most in europeon football so yes can be slightly greedy but then you sometimes won't get the goals he scores

Agree0 Disagree0

Do they say the same to Messi or Ronaldo?

I want to see more of Mirallas on the ball and running at the opposition

Agree0 Disagree0

I would want him to do the the opposite. Let mirallas run free so he can score those goals and so what if he loses the ball a couple of times when most of the time he produces. He is quality.
Blue kaz

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Del Boy is the same if not worse for being a bit greedy but then again I like it when we have a go. We have been quilty of trying to pass our way in to the net sometimes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kev is good but he ain't messi or Ronaldo - it's just keeping a tally of goals scored through being greedy vs missed chances gone thru not passing

He'd be perfect for me if he just reined it in a bit - like some chances are 80% chances, so go for it - some are 60% so still fair dinkum, but its the 20-30 % chances he should look to pass on I think but still one of our top players so not having a go - just wondering if he needs to tweak it a bit?

Agree0 Disagree0

He got 9 goals and 6 assists last season the same as Baines in assists. Hardly greedy!

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't think Moyes did Super Kev any favours when after he played well, he went on to tell the press that Kev had to toughen up. Some might see this as a gauntlet thrown to encourage him, but I thought it was just plain ungrateful and rude. He'd been playing in the PL less than half a season and despite arriving with an injury, immediately showed his potential. Martinez will get the best out of him. I reckon he'll be the player we'll all be worrying about another team bidding for this time next year.

I can't wait to play the rubbish across the park it will be the first season where I think we will have a go at them for all the great things Moyes did it was the 2 games I feared the most because we never seem to get at them we are always to cautious

Would anyone sign Javier Saviola on a free? I would, top class on the ball and only the same age as Ossie so has a good few years left in him yet. Views?

Just wondering if people would sell jely and of so what for personally I want to keep him but if 8m+ offer came in I'd sell and reinvest in someone like aubemyang.
Quinny

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He has gone to dortmund

Agree0 Disagree0

Aubameyang has gone to Dortmund around 2 weeks ago, if you mean Pierre-Emerick

Awh I've been on holiday so missed that would still sell jely for decent money though

Just got tickets for accrington tomorrow night! Anyone got any team news?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Kone might make his debut

Agree0 Disagree0

Might be a similar line up as against Austria Vienna. I know that we're still without Stones, Barkley, Lundstram, Long, Garbutt, Kone, Deulofeu, Coleman, Heitinga, Howard and Jelavic for various holiday / international duty commitments. Be good to see Vellios given another shot. He played well against Vienna. So did Oviedo, so it would be good to see him cement his place in the squad. Peanuts needs some competition after some of his performances last season. I'm still keen to see more of Joel in goal (. is there some kind of chant there in the making?!) as I genuinely believe we might have picked up potentially one of the best signings of the window so far. Could be the Michu of 'keepers.

I think we should go out to destroy teams

Joel
Coleman jags distin baines
Mirallas felli gibbo delefou/piennar
Kone jelavic

Joel playing it out from the back, fullbacks providing width as the wingers cut in creating mayhem with kone creating space for jelys one touch finishing

Quinny

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think we should try to win the league!

play all the other teams in premiership home and away and in each game try to score more goals than the opposition. If Martinez sees sense and follows my simple but effective plan then we'll have more points than anyone else at the end of the season I reckon.
Moyes would never have tried it, he was too negative.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2013 12:42:47
I love Leighton Baines, and I think he's our best player by some way. But for a 28 year old, would you rather have Siqueira (who I've not seen much of, but is apparently good) + £14mil for him?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Never seen the other guy but baines is the best LB in the PL and arguably the world who also created the most chance from any player in any major league. I wouldn't even pick up the phone for less than 20m.
Quinny

Agree0 Disagree0

Siqueira is 27, so there's not that much difference there, but there is a huge difference in their ability. He's very good, but he's not in the same league as Baines.

Not a rumour but does anyone no wot the perfect firmness of a epl clubs pitch is

Believable0 Unbelievable0

In the middle, between mushy and rock hard is usually the best

Ever Banega has been told he can leave Valencia as they need the money.
With the Honda deal looking dead I for 1 would like to see Everton put a bid in

Southampton have offered £7.6 million

S1878

Anyone remember Moyes trying to sign him on loan and it fell through? Think it was about when we got Johnny Heitinga. Apparently he was described as 'too weird for the EPL'. Whatever that means.

Moyes has gone down so much in my view, he is using inside information and knowledge of financial works of our club to try and rob us of our best players on cheap.
if he cared for this club as he said he does he would look elsewhere

Toffeedeano

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good post deano tp.

Agree0 Disagree0

Every manager does it, they go back to the club they have left to poach players

Agree0 Disagree0

Managers like to have players they know can perform in their style

Agree0 Disagree0

So would u say the same about RM getting players from Wigan the same way?

Agree0 Disagree0

How do you think Wigan feel as Martinez has done the same? Most managers go to former players because they know their realistic financial price and have worked with them in the past. IMO Moyes is still a great manager and I won't change that view anytime soon

Agree0 Disagree0

Re Martinez and Wigan is not at all a similar comparison to make with Moyes and Everton. For one Dave Whelan openly stated he wouldn't prevent El Bob from going back for Wigan players and actively encouraged it.
Secondly, Kone asked for a transfer, Alcaraz was a free agent and Joel Robles came from A Madrid.
Moyes allegedly 'bid' for Baines when he was still technically Everton manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nothing wrong with it if you show the former club some respect. Kone had a clause in his contract and we activated it. Alcaraz was out of contract, so wasn't a Wigan player, as was Robles who was back at Atletico.

I wouldn't have a problem with Moyes if he wanted to get Baines and Fellaini, because they are terrific players, but give us their true valuation, 12mil for Baines is simply a piss take from Moyes and shows no respect to the club that gave him a chance in this league, he knows the valuation of Baines, but is trying to pull one over on us.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2013 10:19:46
I'm a Manchester United fan who has a lot of respect for Everton ( my brother supports them for one thing) but I'm sensing a lot of double standards here. Moyes is going downhill in your view as he wants to sign a couple of your players and is using his knowledge of their contracts etc, but it's perfectly acceptable for Martinez to do the same thing to Wigan? I mean its not like he didn't take advantage of knowing about Kone's release clause is it?

Maybe before slating Moyes etc you should think about what your own manager (who I also respect a lot, especially since beating City in the cup) is doing? I mean how many Wigan players has he signed and how many Everton players have we signed?

Finally, I would like to say you are doing a great job Ed0025.

MEF

p. s. good luck for the coming season and I hope you finish above the LFC yet again :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Final poster, if you actually read everything written above, you will see that the two situations are completely different. We only signed one Wigan player and we did that by activating his release clause. Moyes is trying to poach our two best players at rock bottom price despite knowing full well he would have never even entertained the idea as manager of us. Take your double standards comments elsewhere.

Most of my mates are liverpool fans it does my head in when they say we've had it now with martinez. let's not forget that brendon rodgers came from swansea with martinez, s style of football. think the liverpool fans forget about that just because they have more money to spend. ryanfromleic

Few papers linking us with Toby Alderweild from Ajax, really rate him think it be a great signing. Would like to see one more attacking midfielder/right midfielder come in. Probably gomma wait on a player or two to leave first now tho. COYB

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Would his signing mean Heitinga out and possibly Duffy out also but on loan?
Would it mean a back-three? {Ed025's Note - for me sid, toby coming would see johnny going, but duffy kept as back up..

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Heitinga is gone regardless if we sign this lad or not.

Of course, if we could use Heitinga as part of the deal to bring this lad in, would be absolute cracking bit of business by the club, because this lad can play and would suit Martinez's style perfectly, and besides, he is Belgian, nowadays can't go wrong with signing a Belgian.
