What on Earth is going on?? Fellaini gets a ban (deservedly) after his terrible actions over the weekend, and people are calling for him to be sold!! Are you people right in the head? Yes he may have slightly tarnished the outlook of our club but that doesn't evade the fact he's a class player. Who would genuinely do as good a job that he does for us?? Actually I'll answer that question, no-one in our price range, that's who. Let's just move on from this shall we, and look forward to our next game with or without Fellaini. Although I will say this, if he gets his ban, which he probably will, it is time for Ross Barkley to step forward. Cometh the hour, cometh the man. This is his chance to show us what he is capable of! Don't let yourself down Ross if the opportunity arises.

BitterBlue {Ed025's Note - im with you bitter..

Just a thought, which I don't know if anyone else has raised, but in the event that Fellaini gets more than a three match ban and misses more than the Christmas and New Year games does that open up an increased possibility of taking Tim Cahill on a short term loan in January - notwithstanding that Vellios, Barkley, and others have lots of supporters calling for them to get a chance? Perhaps if he was the goal scorer of a few seasons ago, but we let him go - in part - because that side of his game had dried up.

Got a conspiracy about Fellaini. Right so maybe moyes told him to do something to get the big clubs to think he is a liability and to get him out the shop window. Also I live down south and haven't got any of the away match credit things (whatever they are) as i can only get to about 1 game a season with travelling and whatnot so does any one know roughly how many tickets will actually be available as I would love to get the Cheltenham game. Cheers

Believable1 Unbelievable9

So Moyes asked him to headbutt someone did he? Heard it all now..unbelievable.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just what goes on in my head haha obviously not true but anyway
BlueClarkey

Agree0 Disagree0

Ummmmm so if Felli wants to stay at Everton he just has refuse to leave and talk to other clubs, not chin someone to take himself out of the shop window. It makes no sense.

In Felli's defence however Shawcross was hugging him at every opportunity, especially for the second goal mouth 'incident'. If pulling a shirt is a foul then surely that is too?!.

If people think Fellaini - or any other player - deliberately tries to be suspended over Christmas so as to have "time off" then the answer is surely simple: make the player do the same training sessions (perhaps even double sessions) as the other players and make them attend all the games (home and away) just like the available players. As far as I'm concerned, only injured players (or genuinely sick - or those with serious personal/family issues) should be excused training and matches - suspended players are still employees of the club and should attend work IMHO. They've let their team mates down and should not only apologise (like Fellaini, to his credit, has done), but also keep themselves fit for their return from suspension (by training even harder) and support their team mates at matches since have to cope with their absence. Or do we just pat the suspended player on the head, say "there, there - never mind - it was all those nasty Stoke players holding and tugging and pulling and the referee not giving us free kicks"?

Yes fellaini should of been sent off and he will rightly get punished for it. I respect moyes for coming out after the game and being completely honest. A fine and 3 game ban i think. No lets move on to west ham. tough game now with fellaini banned and mirrallas also out. This will give hitzlesperger and also barkley a chance. question is would you just bring in the hitz for felli or move naismith into CM and bring in Oviedo on the wing?

Andy {Ed025's Note - tough one that andy, what i have seen of oviedo, i like...but moyes does not seem too keen, naisy looks a bit off the pace, i would personally prefer ross, than thomas....but with 2 of our best players out west ham will be a very tough game mate..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

It could be a blessing in disguise we have become predictable teams have got our measure hense all the draws you cant depend on 1 style of play which we have done recently everthing is being it to fellini ignoring jelovic and when players break through there having a go them selves were last year they were getting it to jelovic early in the box simular to cahill last year when he was injured we improved our threat in front of goal heres hoping tom efc

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd play:

Howard
Coleman Jags Distin Baines
Ossie? Gibbo Hitz Pienaar
Naisy Jelavic

I want to see Moyes give Jelasmith a go, they worked well at Rangers...this is all assuming Fellaini gets a 3 game ban...oh and is Mirallas definitely out?

Halftime in the Spurs/Swansea game. Guess its time to come on here and read all the comments from our reactionary, person fans just because we didnt win 5-0 yesterday! Wonder whose head is being called for today?

Jelavic? Yeh useless git has only scored about 20 goals in 30 games defo not good enough!!
Get real you muppets and stop freaking out every time we have a bad game!!

aflm78

Believable6 Unbelievable7

People who have opinions are muppets ? Guess that makes you one too then. And here I was thinking this site was not like toffeeweb where people abuse each other left, right and centre.

Agree0 Disagree0

No not people that have opinions, people that call for a different player to be sold after each mistake or each bad game!
Almost all of us would have taken the position we are in now and been happy with it before the start of the season and yet every time we dont play well people over-react and call for this or that player to be sold, it's ridiculous!

My comment was directed at those people who have been criticising Jelavic, not people that have opinions! So if you are one of those that have criticised him then its directed at you, IF not pipe down!!

aflm78

Agree0 Disagree0

No I've not criticised him, I happen to think he's class and works his socks off for the cause, but he's not getting the service he needs at the moment, but don't you think people are entitled to their opinions without you getting precious ?

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Dec 2012 01:31:11
Opinions are usually based on reason and logical analysis of a particular situation... Clearly this irrational and reactionist behaviour after each bad game is based on neither of these 2 criteria and therefore deserves to be criticised for being what it is utter rubbish!

Wait a minute I get it we are only allowed to criticise our players and not fans who are being irrational? Fair enough we should have about 7 more pts by now! Its not good enough sell everyone in Jan coz they are all rubbish! Is that better?

aflm78

Agree0 Disagree0

Now that is just immature because you can't impose you self-righteous, narrow minded views on everyone with an opinion. Not everyone is going to have the same opinion as you, and you don't have to agree with theirs, but it achieves nothing when you dismiss it out of hand and shoot them down at the first opportunity.

Agree0 Disagree0

Q: Is this the right room for an argument?
A: I've told you once already!
Q: No you havent.
A: Yes I have etc

Degsypulford

Agree0 Disagree0

Precious, immature, self-righteous, narrow minded?? For someone who supposedly respects other peoples opinions you're being very critical of mine, arent you?

Being a little bit of a hypocrite, dont you think?

aflm78

Agree0 Disagree0

No, what you said, basically, in a nutshell, was anyone who disagreed with your assertion that Jelavic was a top player, was a 'muppet'. A derogatory term, generally used to describe an individual who is ignorant and/or mentally challenged. If they agreed with you then they should simply 'pipe down', or in other words shut up and say nothing.

For me, this isn't acceptable as sites like this exist for people to voice their opinions/grievances as they see fit, providing they don't violate the particular site's general policies of acceptable behaviour. Stereotyping people and branding them with the above term(s) or telling people you don't know to shut up simply because they disagree with you is, in my humble opinion, unacceptable. Unless, of course, your opinion is the law.

Agree0 Disagree0

Firstly anyone who would call for Jelavic or Fellaini to be sold on the back of one or two bad games is a muppet! And btw that was used in a light-hearted way..

Secondly I told you to pipe down not anyone who disagrees with me. Your first post was like that of a child 'well if people with opinions are muppets then you're one too'... thats schoolboy stuff mate!!

Thirdly it seems people can say whatever they but if you dare to disagree then they get super defensive and pull the old 'i'm entitled to have my opinion, and who said you have to agree with me'... Well ditto!! You're defending peoples' rights to say what they think but only when they abuse our players, manager etc. You stink of hypocrisy mate!!

aflm78

Agree0 Disagree0

No, I don't belittle people for having an opinion that differs from mine. I don't belittle people...period.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok I agree. Only because you said I have to. Otherwise I'd be a 'muppet'.

Agree0 Disagree0

My final point on this matter, I defend people's rights on a daily basis, seeing as it's in my job description as a criminal defence solicitor. Therefore it's not only when 'muppets' criticise our players and manager on this site. And lastly, may I suggest you look up the definition of self-righteous in your spare time when you're not abusing people because they don't share your views.

Agree0 Disagree0

You say you dont belittle people? But you have thrown a number of insults and derogatory terms at me for daring to be critical of fans who imo are over-reacting and even in your final comment you cant resist calling my intelligence into question by suggesting I should look up the meaning of the word self-righteous and yet you fail to see the hypocrisy of this?

I have never said that people should not express their opinions but I defend my right to defend certain players(that I like) when I feel they are being criticised unreasonably. Thereby expressing my own opinion, you defend peoples' right to have an opinion but seem very upset that I have expressed mine, again thats hypocritical... maybe you should look that word up when you're not too busy defending people! :)

aflm78

Agree0 Disagree0

Guess that makes me a better man, a better human being, to defend people people rather than berate and abuse them for having the sheer audacity to have an opinion that's different to yours.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh dear! You've pulled the bigger, better man card... Guess I have really been put in my place now!!

Time to end all this nonsense! Lets just agree that you like to defend peoples' right to have an opinion, whereas I like to defend our players from what I see as 'often' unfair criticism that is born out of anger and frustration rather than logical thinking....

aflm78

Agree0 Disagree0

You're right mate, perhaps I was a little too eager to make something out of nothing. After all this isn't the place to argue, but rather a place for rational debate. Nonsense ended !

Just wondering what people thought of the idea of lampard his contract up in summer how much would it cost to get him in January a nominal fee or get him on loan I know his wages would be high but his experience would be great alongside gibbo. How much is the Belgium cb forren ? Will we still go for Odjidja-Ofoe ? Why not go all Belgium and sign benteke ? What u think ed?

Robbie {Ed025's Note - lampard will be going abroad, LA galaxy looks nailed on, forren, and ofoe are on our radar, but benteke has 4 years on his villa deal to go, and would cost double the £7m villa paid for him robbie..

Haven't heard that clown Alan shearer on motd last
night. How can he comment on Felli. Yeah felli was stupid and will be punished rightly for it. But shearer was the one who threatened not to play for England of he was punished for kicking Lennon in the head. Oh and by the way he was the master with his elbows!!

i read a article a long time ago about how some players , when the xmas period comes up actually intentionally get booked or sent off so they will be banned over xmas so they can have the time off. now am not saying this is the case here, but it is a well known trick in the football circle. {ed025's note - i actually know a player who does it every year!..but i dont think it was planned, just frustration..

We got a pen against us against city for the same thing as what the 2 cb 4 stoke did against felli all day and jelavic, well done to shawcross for the way he acted tho, he took it like a man, plus on another note surely felli hair cushaned the blow

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Not an Everton supporter, Glasgow Rangers in fact. Fellani was well out of order, however I think his frustration can be understood to some degree. Shawcross was up to what all defenders get up to in this situation. (Ostruction, pulling, pushing, etc).Yet they hardly ever get pulled up, by the referee. As the major concern for defences, when playing against Everton, Fellani gets more than his fair share of this type of attention. IMO, the only person to come out of this with any credit, and considerable credit at that, is the Everton manager, Davie Moyes. straight to point and honest to a fault. No rubbish, about mitigating circumstances, or not having seen the issue. He's bigger in personality, than in physical stature. Many if not all managers in the Premiership could learn from this man. Instead of having only a one sided opinion on everything. Unfortunatly for Everton, the day when Man Utd, come calling may not be far away, and I'm sure Moyes, is one of the very few managers who has abilty and character to succeed Alex Ferguson successfully. {Ed025's Note - thanks for your input mate, i agree with most of it, except moyes going to united, they will go for a high profile manager with a european pedigree IMO..

I'd like to see Vellios given a crack personally, he's made an impact in the few games he's come on, his 'assist' for Jelavic last week was rather fortunate but he's a big lad and I think he has a bright future

having seen the felli incidents again this morning sober and not just through one eye all i can say is what the hell was he thinking? xmas back home with the family id say.no matter what kind of provocication shawcross was doing he or anyone who plays football does not deserve to be attacked like that on the football field.ok hes come out and apologised fair play to him but thats the least he can do.it doesnt do us much good being deprived of our best player/top goalscorer over an important part of the season for who knows how many games.all this has done has given the press and media a stick to beat felli with.christ weve even had everyones favourite red pundit and total gobsh.te lawrenson saying he should be banned for 9 games.hope the fa like everyone else does, takes no notice of him.i hope the least felli gets is a three game ban then count himself lucky.jimmy

After just watching Match of the Day myself, i have to disagree.
Shawcross was all over Fellaini, Bear hugs standing on his feet the lot.
He wanted a physical game and he got one.
The headbutt wasnt as bad as people are making out either. He basically charged through him head first. Hardly the Kirby Kiss that its being made out to be!

Blue Bones

Agree0 Disagree0

The referee should take some responcibility it was like watching rugby ive never slagged stoke before but thats not football they play. if the ref had proper control fellini wouldnt reacted someone said last week dont play him up front against stoke they were proved right he cant handle a imposing centre half moyes said at the begining of the season we would play different styles now and then i admit hes been snookered with marilas injury but we need to mix it upeveryone knows our game plan thats why when velious comes on they dont now how to react to him tom efc

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets be honest, Fellaini's hair did cushion most of the blow to the face. lol. But what he done whether he was getting tugged everywhere by shawcross, is not acceptable on any playing field.

its official alan pardew is the new messiah !
remember before they played us, he described newcastle as being in a different league to everton, well if they keep losing then they will be !!! also let's not forget brenda's statement about finishing second, is that for every match day just like yesterday?...
nice one brenda...keep it up
perfect transfer window for me...in...craig gordon, striker on loan, central midfield player on a permanent loan (especially now felli is to be banned)...out...nobody, although to be honest wouldn't mind if mucha moved on as he gives me the jitters
.......................................coyb...................evertonpaul

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I wouldn't mind Gordon myself but as he's out of contract, I think Moyes would have snapped him up already if he wanted him. I agree that Mucha has to go and my confidence with Howard is also diminishing by the game. I know keepers make mistakes, but they are proving to be more and more costly and seem to lead to a goal conceded every time. What was he doing yesterday? BlueTone

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you tone howard has not had a good game all season stupid goals almost every game then has the cheek to tell everybody we dont need another keeper takin the piss or what moyes should show this clown the 16 games this season and ask him how many points he thinks he has lost us norwich at home along with his rediculous star jump for bas second goal against newcastle the free kick at fulham just to name a few al hamadis shot at villa beaver faces header in the derby the list goes on sorry. Am I missing something here yes Fellini was an person and will get a Ban for at least 4 games and we were poor today but can't remember to many times where we have played badly, but a point away at stoke is a good result any season but this year they are a solid unit, I would off taken a point before the match anyway still only 2 defeats we just need to be finding Jelavic osman could off killed the game off today and 2-0 up we would probably got 3 points. But we're 4th and its nearly Xmas but no one would of believed that at the start of season if we can end season like last year then we are top 4 stop moaning rant over

Believable2 Unbelievable1

2 things are consistent about everton and liverpool the later put presure on them selves talking them selves up finishing 2nd haha we every time we get a chance to cement our position or move higher we bottle it howard isnt noticed when he makes an error when were in the bottem half of the league but now were in a decent position hes showing hes not up to it cometh the hour cometh the man is an old saying step forward ross barcley tom efc
