Ed, did we end up signing the Duffus brothers from Cheltenham? And have we signed Rory Donnelly from Cliftonville, or has he opted for another club?

Breeno {Ed025's Note - as far as i know breeno, the deal was done in november, but i have heard nothing since..and the last i heard, it was between us and swansea who got rory..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thanks Ed.
Any info on the Duffus brothers eg. Age, Position? {Ed025's Note - courtney and tyrone are both playing for our U16,s..courtney is a striker, and scored the other day..not heard much of tyrone..

If this Connelly kid has any sense he will sign for Swansea, don't get me wrong im a big Everton fan, but i think Moyes will ruin the kid just like every other striker we have had.

Agree0 Disagree3

So their playing with George Green.
One thing i'm looking forward to is, in atleast 2 years, we will have a very talented, attacking team because if Moyes is still, hopefully, in charge he'll have no real choice but to play some of these young lads if they are as good as Barkley has been.
Just think about it Ed, we could have:
GK-Howard (34)
RB-Coleman (25)
CB-Jagielka (30)
CB-Rodwell (22)
LB-Baines (29)
CDM-Fellani (25)
CAM-Barkley (19)
RM-Green (17)
LM-Tyrone Duffus (17/18?) -if he's a winger
ST-Donnelly (20)
ST-Courtney Duffus (17/18?)

And thats not knowing if we have any good, young defenders or if we buy anyone between now and then. Its a very young team, but if they live up to their potential and are the same as Barkley, who adapted very well to the Everton first team and Premiership, they could be top six material or even better.
What you think Ed? Evertons future is definetly bright and in safe hands. :)

Breeno {Ed025's Note - we are famed for our youth policy breeno, the fact is we have a lot more coming through, not all will make the grade but it is very promising...to see youngsters coming through is brilliant, i just hope we give them a chance and are not preening them for so called bigger clubs to come and steal from under our noses!..

Moyes has said he had a spring in his step after bringing donovan back an securing barkley on a long term contract! Lets hope he shows his new found 'spring' with a positive team selection on saturday! {Ed025's Note - lets hope so mate..

Saw this on Skysports Transfer Centre : Paper Talk. It was down as being in the Sun, not sure how credible it is.
Everton are ready to battle Sunderland for Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic.
What you think Ed? Any truth in it?

Breeno {Ed025's Note - if its in the sun breeno...its probably lies...but he is a good player, and i would welcome him to goodison..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Sounds like agents bigging up their player for a windfall. If he is linked with us though you can bet your bottom dollar Genial 'Awwy Wedknapp will gazzump us out of spite.

They say good things come in 3s! Fellani signing, barkley signing could the third thing be the sale of the club? :-)
Not saying that donovan returning is not good news i was just refering to more long term news.

Hey guys I know what some of you are saying that why bother with Donovan when we will only have him for 8 weeks, remember that old saying:

Better than to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all.

In other words he WILL improve our team for eight weeks, this WILL then have prospective owners that were interested in buying us possibly wetting their pants a bit more, this WOULD then bring in more money for players that would inprove our team.

We all know that Donovan will inevitably return to MLS but let's get on this band wagon together and enjoy some good news about a player that is willing to relocate to a friggin freezing country to play in a deceprid stadium for eight weeks and clearly has a soft spot for our great club.

LA temperature 20 Degrees
Scouseland weather 2 Degrees

With Donovan coming in, this will
prove to people who doubted us to
sign anyone, also it will lure in other
players.

Out:

Bily (£5-6 million to Russia)

Rodwell (£20 million to Chelsea or
United)

Stracqualursi (back to Tigre)

Total: £25-£26 million

In:

Holtby (£5.5-6 million from Schalke)

de Jong (£6 million from FC Twente)

Onouha (on loan from City)

Total: £13.5-£14.5 million to banks

Then we would have sold a lazy
winger who we don't need, and got
money from Rodwell. Also, we have
a creative midfielder, a striker and
a right back!

Our team could be:

Howard

Onouha Jagielka Heitinga Baines

Coleman Fellaini Barkley Drenthe

Donovan de Jong

Subs:

Mucha Neville Distin Osman Cahill
Saha Vellios

Reserves:

Hahnemann Hibbert Bidwell
McFadden McAleny Wallace Duffy
Green

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Why isnt holtby in your team and your having a laugh if you think johnny is better than distin, i would only let rodwell go if moyes guaranteed ALL the money to spend

Agree1 Disagree2

What about Holtby that you've just signed for £6m?

Agree2 Disagree1

And why the hell would you sell rodwell, the lad has got better and will only improve more, god im so glad that some people on this forum would never get to manage our club bevause we would sink faster than the titanic

Agree1 Disagree0

I wasn't concentrating.

My team would be:

Howard

Onouha Jagielka Distin Baines

Donovan Fellaini Holtby Drenthe

Barkley

de Jong

Subs:

Mucha Neville Heitinga Osman Cahill Saha
Vellios

Reserves:

Hahnemann Hibbert Bidwell McFadden McAleny Wallace Duffy Green

Barkley has signed a new four and a half year deal with everton! We may see him play more games for us now! There has to be something good going on behind the scenes for fellani and barkley to extend there contracts! What do you think ed? {Ed001's Note - he never really wanted to leave, I doubt it would matter whether anything is happening or not. All he wants is to play football.}

Signing Landon is quite a coup for the club. I don't think the greatest player who has ever played for USA, and the best player in the MLS in the prime of his career would join any old club.

In times where supporting our club becomes frustrating we should take pride from the infectious nature of it. We may be skint, but revered and covetous we remain.

Lets jus say David moyes did walk out or get the boot who would like to see an Everton ledgend take over he is out of work now and knows football inside out its Andy grey what u all think

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Don't walk out Moyesee, wouldn't want anyone else (at present)

Easy answer for me fella

Your he knows alot about football but naff all bout management! I would be happy for him to manage my sunday league team though :-)
If moyes left i would like to see martinez or maybe even irvine!

Agree0 Disagree1

Andy Gray had his chance years ago. He turned it down, (very publicly), & we had to endure loads of red-nose p*ss taking. So, no way. Anyway, it would be really difficult to replace all the female staff who would probably leave!

p.s. Well done Ross, & welcome back Landon.

Id quite like to see Ian Holloway given a go. Certainly no doubting his attacking style.

Ed! Where do you think donovan will play? Wing,behind the striker or as striker? Also i read in here that teams are only aloud to loan players at a time! So im guessing denis is off bck to argentina! And if moyes is after lukaku on loan would that mean drenthe off aswell or we buying him? So many questions ed :-) {Ed001's Note - personally I would expect Donovan to play various positions, dependant on the opposition.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I posted about the two player rule last week mate and I am guessing that Denis is off or we will sign Drenthe permenant, hope it's the latter and we get Drenthe on a contract. I know Denis has not shown much but I would rather get Drenthe tied down to a five year

Hi ed, can anyone explain the exact rules on how many loan players you can have!! Can't find a definitive answer anywhere, with Landon coming in by my count that makes 4 dier, drente, strach and Landon!!

I know there are different rules regarding over seas loans an domestic loans, but I think I'm correct that you can only have 4 in total at a time.

Kurajan {Ed001's Note - you can have up to 4 on loan at a time. So someone will either have to become a permanent transfer or leave.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Hey Ed, pretty sure that you can have four in TOTAL over the season but can only have 2 at a single time, in other words Drenthe signs up or Denis is given the boot
