Greg okeefe said when questioned about Martinez transfer budget this year, that he has very decent amount of money to spend and also said that he has huge lump some of the Fellaini money left aswell. He then went on to say that he wants at least 6 new faces in the squad for next season and that Martinez is a fan of Bony but is not sure if he will make an offer for him, maybe I'm wrong blues but I'd say Martinez has at least 40 mill there at his desk ready to spend it will be a very interesting summer.

Not having a go at Hibbert but what's the point in offering him a new contract Martinez is not going to use him.He hardly got any game time last year even when Coleman was injured but surely the wages he is on could go towards a new signing for example sign a new right back as cover for Coleman. Look I'm not running Hibbert down he has being a great servant but he is not in Bobby's plans and we don't have 50 grand a week spare to go around I'm a bit surprised by this one.
Believable0
Unbelievable0
Id give him a much lesser contract and have him coaching the kids on the defensive side of things
Agree0
Disagree0
50k?! Hibbo will be on less than half that if he signs a new contract and Martinez had says his value goes much further than on the pitch.
Agree0
Disagree0
Why would you sign a new contract and not play.if you love the game and you can still play. surely you won't to play.everton again 3 steps forward 2 steps back. hibbo should be moved on.just look at Manchester United with Rio.he has won everything you can leagues, fa cups, league cups, champions league. senterment no chance. iam with stef spend the money wiser.if you stand still you will be steamrolled.hibbos days are over.
Agree0
Disagree0
We will need as many squad players as possible with the thursday night games soon to be coming thick and fast. Also, When Hibbo is called upon he NEVER let's you down. Not fantastic going forward, but fills you with complete confidence when defending. Sign him for an extra year I say, love the guy.
Agree0
Disagree0
Never let's you down remember the fa cup final .get in the real world. nice guys finish last. that's what's been wrong with us keeping players 2 years to long.move forward and get rid of the dead wood.
Agree0
Disagree0
Some of you talk cobblers. I will enlighten you:
1. rule 1 is never get rid until you have something better. That means now. Who is better than Hibbert as back up right back?
2. rule 2 is refer to rule 1 before you get rid of someone who you can't replace.
For those of you old enough. remember the manager fiasco when no-one wanted to manage us and we even offered Andy Gray the job (tv pundit) and he turned us down.
Agree0
Disagree0
To be fair deggs at the time I thought Andy grey would of done a fantastic job tactically he broke everything down but the only place I think he would of failed is attracting good name players at the time I actually wanted him to get the job
Agree0
Disagree0
This degsy feller is he all together with us.
Agree0

Richie, yes I am and shakey30, I am not denying he would have done a fantastic job IF he had accepted it. And that is my point, we sacked the previous manager with no-one lined up to take over. Read my post again.it says get rid AFTER your replacement is in. Who is Hibbert's replacement? No-one. Until the replacement is signing the dotted line, talk about getting rid of Hibbert or anyone should be put on hold.
Agree0
Disagree0
Degsy when do we move on. so we should have kept vellios till we brought a striker in yes or no.
Agree0
Disagree0
Richie, depends if we had someone lined up to take his squad number. Hibbert is a different kettle of fish. He is 2nd choice RB at present. If we can get a better one, then we can let Hibbert go. Vellios had his chance, but RM brought in Traore expecting him to be fit. We ended up a bit thin on strikers. Vellios should have done better I agree.
Agree0
Disagree0
Degsy fair point and in the previous point I made I was not having a go at you personaly.i read your posts and agree with most.we all want the same thing

Does anybody have a release date for the new shirts? I remember the new shirts being worn on the last home game every year for a while, I used to like that. I think EFC miss a trick by not releasing them in time for Father's Day. My kids would always know what to get me!

Possible Hazard loan doing the rounds at the moment

{Ed002's Note - Or Atsu. This is not new news.}
Anyone know much about these 2? Which would be preferable?
Agree0

Just read on the ssn website that chelsea might be offering Lukaku a new contract and loan him back to us next season as they are hoping to bump his value up

atsu is a winger, lightening and makes powerful runs, hazard is a winger who psg are after, he is one of the best talents in world football and he would be a great loa. what? oh THORGAN hazard oh right, hes, erm, not that good
Agree0
Disagree0
{Ed002's Note - You might want to find out a little more about Thorgan Hazard - there is a lot of interest in taking him on loan.}
Hazard is not one of the best talents in world football. He is just a good player. And there are plenty of those.
Agree0
Disagree0
{Ed002's Note - Nobody will be lending Everton "one of the best talents in world football" - you are one DF if you think they will be.}
Is that what I said?
Agree0
Disagree0
I haven't seen thorgan player but eden said that he is techinaly better then himself and thorgan has won the player year in Belgium so can't be that bad but read somewere that we were offered eden by lile when he was 17 for 4 mil but moyse said no big mistake

Micky hazard.

Talking of 'Hazard':
is it true that the Health & Safety regulators have instructed Liverpool to place warning signs in the Anfield penalty areas about 'Slip Hazard' because of the number of times their players have 'fallen over' in those areas?
Agree0

Ed002. How dare you question the football knowledge of the ugly duckling. Sorry, swan.

TMH is right though. TIR is TIRsome! Always just having a pop and nothing constructive to say. Seems that TIR doth protest too much, must be so disappointing being a red this season but feels to me like there is a note of envy to his whinging. The third highest spending prem team! I'd rather have the label "premiership overachievers" as with that cash the RS should surely be labelled "premiership underachievers". Running scared I think.
Tommy- please try and use you imagination and rather than just throwing stones in glass houses give us something less boring and more entertaining in the way of banter.

I hope the rumours about Didier Ya Konan are not true. I have not seen him play, but his goal scoring record is terrible. Less than a goal every 3 games in the Norwegian and German Leagues. That would probably equate to 1 in 4 in the EPL. Not good enough for EFC nor the standards we set last year. Plus he is 28 so likely not to improve on this stat. Lukaku scores 1 in 2 in the EPL at ages 19 and 20. I know who I would rather have.
Believable0
Unbelievable0
With you Degsy.
Agree0
Disagree0
How can you pass a judgement if you have never seen him play? Alright his goal record is not great on paper but neither is nasmiths but he brings other things to the team, so this guy might be the same not everything is about goals as if it is we might as well sign Darren Bent who scores goals but contributes little else.
Agree0
Disagree0
If we are looking for a forward to replace Lukaku (Assuming he isn't with us next season) then we need a goalscorer and have to agree with Degsy, this Ya Konan doesn't look great. My experience of African centre forwards at Everton hasn't been great thus far, plus am assuming another African nations cup next year, so Kone won't be available either.

oddly enough degsy, i'm with you, although I have seen him play, he isn't a good enough striker and couldn't do a job on the wings either, shouldn't look at him
Agree0
Disagree0
For free he would make a good squad filler, and obviously he won't be our number one striker target.
Agree0
Disagree0
I don't need to see him play. With stats like that, I know he can't make it in the EPL. Lukaku is likely to hit 20 per season. This guy is likely to hit 5/7 per season. How many points dropped will that be. Swan knows I go on a bit about points and goals and stats. He will tell you I am right about this one. I think Kone is likely to score more than him and Kone is injured!
Agree0
Disagree0
Mike S, if he cannot score in the Norwegian League, then he won't score in the Premiership. We could wait a few years to see if he develops. oh no we can't he is 28 and knackered anyway.
Agree0
Disagree0
He okay but prefer mame diouf on free
Agree0

It's my bet we're all getting worked up over nothing anyway as one thing I've learnt about Everton is names linked in the media vary rarely end up being true,
It's just not the Everton way.
Agree0

Mike S, now you are talking sense. Except that nightmare is coming back. I can picture him again.Brett Angell. aaargggh. refer Swan for comments.
