Not just panicking on the "Rom Latest Panic", but can anyone see a way back next year for Niasse? He's not a Messi or Lukaku, but seems to know where the net is. He doesn't seem worse than say Kone and IF we manage to sell him, it'll probably be at a significant loss. For some reason RK doesn't seem to think much if him, and he seems to have most things right so far.

You started off that post so well Kingo78 about Rom. Then it went downhill. Niasse will have to play like Messi for the rest of the season before Koeman would even consider taking him back.

Seems he has his mind made up about him. He had first hand access to seeing him in training. Koeman is no fool.

I'm not putting down Niasse. I'm delighted for him. Hope he scores another 10 before the end of the season.

No one bigger than the club. we got over (in my era) some big players leaving who at the time we loved. Rooney, ferguson, arteta, felliani, gravesen, stones. Just to name a few.

Believe you me there will be life with or without lukaku. Everton right now are in the best financial situation ever an are really growing.

One bump in the road an ad fans have taken 10 steps backwards. Let's believe in the new regime an if he leaves good luck to him.

I for one think he will be here next season. I think it's all publicity to either get him in the shop window or a bigger pay packet.

However I'd be made up if he stayed as he is going to be a tremendous player. But if he doesn't we move on an upwards. Look at the way we have changed in half a season.

I believe with or without lukaku the blues are still on the right path and will still challenge next season.

That's just my 2 pence.

COYB.

Who would everyone want to see replace Lukaku when he does depart? I can't see us signing a direct replacement in terms of quality (Lacazette, Belotti, etc. ) because of our current position (no champions league) . Personally I would like for us to sign a young, promising striker (Celtic's Moussa Dembele if he would come) and a proven premier league goal scorer (Jermaine Defoe or Olivier Giroud) . I have full faith that Steve Walsh has a couple of targets in place and we will be competing for the top 4 next year.

{Ed025's Note - myself i would like either dembele or anautovic denver, but im still hopeful rom will be with us next season mate..

15 Mar 2017 20:15:30
Who knows Ed, we could win our remaining games and make the champions league. Problem solved.

{Ed025's Note - very true denver..unlikely though it is mate..

15 Mar 2017 21:21:48
Koeman said after summer transfer window, he will have us competing for top four. Should try telling Rom that if he stays one more season and help get us champions league, then problem solved, but if we fail for CL place then he can leave with our blessing and thanks for the girls he has scored since we have had him.

I wouldn't mind lorente and siggurdson providing the assists and he will get 10-15 a season. Those 2 should give us 25-30 goals a season.

If Rom does leave there is a lad in prem who is doing well and wouldn't cost anything. He scored two for Hull last weekend :-)

Hi Ed why is it when Everton do things correctly ie do their contract work, stadium move and everthing else behind closed doors we get rubbish posts turning up on here like same old Everton, if we all believed what the rags print heaven help us, i for one would like to congratulate Everton Football Club for this stance and long may it continue, we are moving into an exciting new era with our club with Mr Moshiri, instead of all this negative drivvle for goodness sake get behind the club and ENJOY the ride, it will be bumpy along the way but so what we have waited for this for a very very long time for this, GuernseyBlue.

15 Mar 2017 21:50:21
Exactly. This is a club that generally behaves with a fair amount of class and dignity. I believe we have a reputation amongst genuine football supporters for doing things the right way. We should always hold on to those principles whatever missiles get thrown at us. Which ever players leave or join our principles should remain!

Have Everton actually announced that Rom has refused the contract, or has all this stemmed from him saying to the Belgian reporter he hasn't signed yet?

hi all been reading for a while but now first post . dcl is very highly rated by rk sw and bi dunc so don't be surprised if you see him start a few games instead of lukaku.

Can I just ask why the club are so appalling at updating the fans?!?
If Lukaku has rejected a new contract, why not just come out and say that, even if it's then "we're continuing negotiations"?!?
It seems crazy to me that sites like the BBC can report things before we can get them on our official website.
The fans are the lifeblood of any club, keep them in the loop!
On Lukaku, he's been a great servant to the club, you can't blame him for wanting to better himself. Yes we might have European football next season, but let's face it it won't be Champions League, which is where he wants to play. If he leaves I'll wish him the best, as long as the club get a fair price for him and he doesn't throw his toys out of the pram, it's then down to the club to replace him. I'd take Mandzukic from Juve in a heartbeat!
If Rom goes we still need another striker as well as a replacement and I trust RK and SW to spend the money wisely on any players we bring in.
I still have a feeling Rom will sign, let's just hope the club don't give in easily and put a silly release clause in like 25-35Mil, he's worth a MINIMUM of 60 Mil in today's market!
That's my 2pence worth anyway ;)

You are presuming that the media reports are correct they may just be bull. Would you expect the club to respond to every report about every player in the media? Don't read to much into what the media say then you won't worry about something that may not be true.

Take money and batshyui (spelling) from Chelsea and get dembele from Celtic two good replacements if rom wants to go get as much as we can and thanks for the goals onwards and upwards.

Not a bad shout that mate. If he does go no matter how much we get it's going to be impossible to get a like for like replacement imo so if we can get 2-3 10-15 goal strikers in that would do me tbh.

I can't believe no Prem clubs took a punt on dembele when he left Fulham for around 3 mil :0.

I was going to keep quiet till next season but with lukaku saying he wants to leave as good a goal scorer he is I have never realy taken to him and never felt his heart was in the club I for one won't lose any sleep over him and think the club will soon move on. you never know what's round the corner it could be a blessing in disguise.

Let's face it is anyone shocked at Rom I'm not . cast your mind back to the start of the season when his agent said he wanted to leave then. Nothing has changed. Interesting game against Hull on sat.

I know 100,000 a week is a lot of money but offering one of the best strikers in Europe and a player we can build a team around that amount is an insult to a player of that quality. Moshiri should offer him whatever he wants.
