Well what the hell do I know? I thought we had to replace Mirralas with another forward and not sit back and soak up pressure by bringing on 2 holding players. Thought the boys were brillant today all over the pitch. Onwards and upwards NSNO.

Read that we are rekindling interest in kone and may be willing to look at a deal involving mccarthy. Really hope not. I really think macca has a part to play if fit and I'm not convinced on kone. Plus I know what ed thinks about swap deals so hopefully this is bs.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

15 Jan 2017 22:25:40
I agree better option around to Kone

Just wanna add. Alongside the wonderful result and performance today against arguably the best side in the league. What a wonderful gesture by the club to make Bradley the mascot and give him the day he had.
Just hope we put a smile on his little face for a day. Well done blues.

Hi Geoff good shout that mate and well done to the Club, brilliant gesture to the little lad and wish him all the very best, GuernseyBlue

15 Jan 2017 19:51:46
I think we should let Bradley Lowery come back whenever he wants to be mascot. He was mascot at Sunderland albeit for them and we won 3 nil mascot again today and we won 4 nil!

On a serious note though I am sure he is back in for treatment this week so wish him all the best!

Looks like del boy is on his way now. Miralas showing signs of his talent and hope we keep Mccarthy if he can cope with being a squad player.

15 Jan 2017 18:48:02
I agree with all that Smit666. Pity about Del. Even if he stays looks like he's going in the summer.

15 Jan 2017 19:11:51
Miralas was on form today and yes Zabaleta did stud him down his achilles and it was deliberate, have a look at it on camera.

Agree0 Disagree3

15 Jan 2017 19:29:09
Such is the intensity and pressure that we cannot afford any prima donnas in the modern days game. Players have to accept that they are part of a first team squad and that squad rotates the 11, depending on tactics and opposition.

Agree1 Disagree2

15 Jan 2017 19:55:15
Disagree, zabaleta caught him accidentally.

Agree2 Disagree1

15 Jan 2017 22:32:33
when you look at it in slow mo he actually lifts his studs down the back of his achilles, we have all played football, we all know what happens in a game.

Really happy to see rom having a good chat with lookman as he was about to come on. We have all had a go at his character in the past but personally I feel he is growing up a bit. Would be really interested in finding out what he said

15 Jan 2017 17:23:41
Football is a game of opinions and I have had my fair few. Tom Davies was exceptional today in all he did. Really excellent distribution and technique to match the drive and determination I had witnessed previously.
I think if we will continue with 3 at the back and based on Holgates performance why not, a midfield dilemma is arising and it's great! When Gueye is back what is the 3 in midfield now we have Schniederlin and McCarthy back.
I have said many times on here that Mirallas is the best player we have, I just wish he did that for an hour every game. Maybe Koeman will use him like Leicester use Okazaki and say go nuts for an hour and don't worry because we'll take you off after.
Finally Lookman. He looks like a 14 year old, although I have been told by a Charlton supporting mate that he has a feeling the kid will be the next Ian Wright. Imagine that.
What a performance. Truly brilliant today. The most interesting stat, 71% possession to City, 38% of the game played in their last 3rd 19% in ours. Brilliant

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Jan 2017 18:48:35
Great post Svenny. And fair play to you, I thought in a previous post that you were unduly harsh on Davis but his performance today certainly warrants praise. They all put a shift in today, let's hope Kev et al continue in that vain!

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jan 2017 19:22:24
We need a deep Squad, I. E. two first Team players for each position, especially the style of football RK wants to play. Besic is a cracking player but again his style means he is going to be injured a lot of the time. Probably need another 3 CB, support striker and Goalkeeper (although I don't think this is a priority in RK's mind) .

Tom Davies Rooney moment like rooneys against arsenal Tom Davies anounces he is the next big star

Believable2 Unbelievable0

15 Jan 2017 17:21:18
It was a great game today. For me this is were Koeman is showing what a great manager he can be.

How different our midfield is looking. Davies has added a nasty and tenacious streak and provided more ammunition for Barkley.

On Barkley. Two assist today but for me each week we are seeing him chase and tackle more. He must have done 10 tackles today and he never gave up the chase.

Morgan had a good run out but little Lookman looks an absolute steel if his 5 minutes are anything to go by. I literally just looked at him for the time he was on the pitch and he doesn't stop moving. You would hate marking him because you'd end up running a marathon.

What next then. Well it's more of the same. We can still catch the rest and our next few game could see us move closer.

The season we finished 5th last we were 11 points behind Arsenal in 4th with 10 games to go. We then caught and overtook them

The Grand Old Lady was indeed rocking today. Fantastic result, fantastic performance! Barkley was fantastic, Tom Davies was class, made up for him and Lookman, both probably had the best days of their lives. What a time to be a Blue. Sod the boo boys, we aren't perfect but we are definitely on the way up. best perfromance for about 3 years.

OMG! Where do you start? Can't describe what that felt like and it's been a long time coming. Stunning game plan carried out to perfection, hats off to Koeman and every single player. Tom Davies was immense and we will be a force to be reckoned with next season make no mistake.

Icing on the cake to see 7 year old Lookman making it a thrashing. Pep's heaviest league defeat ever as a manager. Always been a proud blue and it's days like this that make it all worth while. Add one or two more quality players to that squad and who knows?

What a fantastic result today. Congratulations to the whole team who put in a really solid performance of teamwork and composure.

Also, i was made up by the attitude of Rom today. When young Lookman was about to come on, Rom was straight over to the sidelines and looked to be giving him a warm welcome, and when he scored, Rom seemed genuinely pleased for the lad, really congratulating him. Has he taken him under his wing so to say. Anyway, i thought i would bring this up because he doesn't always seem keen to work for the team but this was especially praise worthy.

He followed his head and not his heart. Sadly he was the only one who couldn't see he was going to get screwed.

I feel no pity for him at all not because he left but because he chose to slag us off afterwards. For that reason alone he deserves to find himself in the mess he is in. Sunderland will totally screw up his CV if they go down,

How about this for a theory or off the grid thought. Our fortunes under Moyes lost direction once Irvine left to try Management and he (Moyes) brought Steve Round in. Irvine for me was always a 2IC, about the same as I view Martinez (a good coach that needs an overseer) , Steve Round a typical looks good on paper coach. Look how it turned out for all of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2017 23:35:08
anyone watch Hull v Bournmouth real time today. don't like to kick a man when he is down but Niasse, jeez. I am certain the guy is a ringer, because even Martinez and his staff's ability to turn a win into a loss could not have made that big a mistake. There is no way this fella could have been playing football and picked as player of the year in Russia, it just defies belief.
