Don't often catch championship football but nice to see jake bidwell captain of Brentford. Another one of our academy not quite ready for the first team but forged a career lower down the leagues, just like John lundstram at Oxford.

Don't get too cocky pal every time I do I end up disappointed Chelsea are a quality side mate and are out to prove a point, I would take a draw all day long at Stamford bridge.

sorry stef no way would I take a draw, you say u would take a draw all day long as if chelsea are flying well their not and they are their for the taken they may have good players but they are not playing as a team. my god the crap teams that have taken points off chelsea so far wba drew last week and they would take that ALL DAY LONG and we are a trillion times better than them. that's not me being cocky that's me being confident because chelsea are no great shakes.2.1 everton.

Well said we are more than capable of doing Chelski as long as we can defend like we did against citeh, they ran out of ideas and imo we showed a master class of how to defend against a title contending team. Confidence confidence confidence is all we need and Mo Besic to wind Costa up.

Can't see why they would pull out especially with all the TV revenue next season well that's if we keep our premier league status lol.

Never mind the rumours, I didn't/ don't fully believe the initial takeover rumour (s) in the first place, like the stories that always surface prior to AGM/ EGM's etc, prefer to think of it as an attempt at Christmas Cheer.

Jese Rodriguez from Madrid or el shaarawy of Milan over yarmolenko.

{Ed002's Note - Sorry, that won't be happening.}

West Ham are hoping to beat Everton to a deal for Leeds' 22-year-old English right-back Sam Byram. (Daily Express)

It will be fine, he is coming to us, ignore the press, Leeds fans think this was already arranged last year.

I'll be quite happy with the Byram acquisition, if we get the deal over the line, as he looks like a very capable player. Can also play in a few positions and isn't costing an arm and a leg. Most Leeds fans seem to have nothing but good things to say about the lad. No reason why he can't be thrown straight in the team to deputise for Seamus, Stones doesn't look too comfortable at full back for my liking.
On a side note, there has been more than one dissenting voice with regards to Tim's form this year, understandably so, yet not many prepared to acknowledge his efforts against City the other night. At least show some credit when it is due boys! MOM on his 350th league appearance for us wasn't too shoddy. Yes, one game doesn't change the fact that he is in decline but at least admit he wasn't his usual flappy self! Maybe a coincidence but he looked more confident with Jags in front of him. If we sell Naisy, hopefully he will stay, then put that cash towards a good young keeper. Anyone got a preference for this position with what goalies maybe available? Forget Joel as your answer as, if TH leaves in the summer, we will still need another in that position for either first team or as back up.

Spudv MOM was the referee closely followed by Besic. Tim was acknowledged as having a good game by critics including myself, but as predicted also claimed as vindication of his brilliant selection policy by RM. One game does not detract from the many points lost by him and our defence over this season, let's see how it goes now we have Jags back.

Yes duncansmum one good performance will not make up for what Howard has done this season but there's only so much giving out people can do or listen to. I gave out about Howard but this continual giving out is getting very tiresome for me.

I'd love to see Joel in goals but have to accept its just not going to happen this season.

Tell you what if we finish 7th then Roberto will have got us back to where Moyes left off, I await the proclamation of the coming of the messiah.

Just a note of caution, we may have had a bid accepted for byram but we have not signed him. We are certainly not the only club in for him and now that we have stolen a March, others may come in. Let's be honest, we are notoriously tight in contact negotiations and on top of that he isn't necessarily joining us to go into the first team automatically, which he may do elsewhere. Personally I'm quite hopefull we will pull it off and he looks like a top signing. Pleased with how the windows going so far in that we have signed 2 well rated young players and look to be about to sign another. Will be gutted to lose naisy but understand why he wants to go.

Lets look at the youth movement RM has nutured (yes some may have been around with Moyes, but just stay with me. )

Imagine the following team (positions and starters very very approximate)

Keeper: Robles - age 25
Backline: Galloway (19) , Mori (24) , Stones (22) , Byram (22)
Midfield: Besic (23) , McCarthy (25) , Deulofeu (21) , Cleverley (old man 26)
Up top: Rom (22) and Barkley (22)

On the Bench: Browning (21) , Garbutt (22) , Oveido (25) , Pennington (21) , and Super Kev at age 28. And what appears to be a promising crop of young Academy players.

A very good 26 and under team. This IS ba very solid foundation. Yes another striker, yes a left sided attacker, and yes another keeper will help, but the foundation is set

So. a great present and a greater future team is Everton.
