{Ed025's Note - there could well be simo but my guess would be after the season ends mate..

Apparently he's made a statement saying it would be hard to leave psv so we will see watched them today against Ajax and they were outstanding.

Hard to leave until he see how much money he will get at Everton, he will be here next season.

Hi Ed 025 out of interest mate who would you like to succeed Sam as our next manager, i probably know what you are going to say anybody including Micky Mouse lol, just seeing Newcastle today and their great win against the Gooners what do you reckon on Rafa, i know all this and that about Small Club etc but if he came in and the money that would be available to him and couple that with his experience he would be a good shout surely, nice to hear your views mate cheers ps Fonesca for me.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - fonseca for me as well GB..

15 Apr 2018 19:07:36
Fonseca would be good but I fear he will/ has better offers from Clubs with more European Credence than ours. My choice if we could prise him away is Dyche. As to the rumour of Rinola engineering our summer recruitment as others have said, I suspect if true the bloke would bleed us dry.

Fonseca for me GB I just want some stability, very good interview with Tim Cahill today if you get chance watch it about how we've lost out identity.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2018 02:34:46
It's Fonseca for me too, followed by Silva or Dyche. Another one, from left field would be The Wolves manager, Espirito Santo who has them playing good football.
To be honest though I've been looking at Kendall and Shankly's managerial careers before they took over Everton and Liverpool and they didn't stand out. Someone though knew them and saw that they were a little bit special. Unfortunately I don't know any of the candidates that well and I'm not sure I could detect the thing that could make them special
I just hope someone at Everton is closer to it than me and that they get on and do it soon - we can't afford the mess we had when Koeman left.

After watching our next opponents Newcastle today, and being a fan who wanted Benitez I decided to have a look at some stats, this is because Newcastle have played a game less than us and can overtake us with a win when we meet them.
Sam has taken 27 points from a possible 60 since he took over. In that same period Rafa's supposedly inferior Newcastle have taken 26 points from a possible 57. Since the turn of the year we have taken 15 points compared to Newcastle's 19. This is the type of manager we should have went all out for when we needed a new man, and not the fella we have now.
If Fonseca is first choice, I hope if we fail to get him we can go for Rafa and give him the project that he wants .

Believable0 Unbelievable1

15 Apr 2018 17:19:40
BG those stats just prove that SA is a complete tool and should never have been allowed an interview he was a panic appointment and one I hope in the summer is confined to history.

Agree4 Disagree0

15 Apr 2018 19:47:34
Domino effect for me, had we left Koeman until the Europa league games were completed, then appointed Unsworth until the end of the season, I have no doubts he would have bettered Sams results, got us playing attacking football, like his West Ham game, then we could have focused on our next manager in the Summer, without another payout.

We panicked and now getting the end result of boring dross football.

I've just read the news about Grumpy.
Thoughts and prayers are with his family.
A true blue.
I will definitely miss locking horns with him but I am sure he knew we are Evertonians through and through and all wanted the same thing for our club.
He fought on to the end and that shows all you need to know about the man's character.
RIP brother.

Hey everyone, only just heard the news about GT. Devastated reading all the posts and especially the ones from his son. Just shows what a cracking fella he was judging by all the responses. He's going to be sorely missed on this site with his input and unconditional love for the club. May he rest in peace.

Everton will link up with agent Mino Raiola to improve their recruitment in the summer. The change of personnel will also see the departure of manager Sam Allardyce and director of football Steve Walsh. (Sunday Mirror)

Allardyce says his time at the club has already been a success, after Saturday's 1-1 draw at Swansea saw then move to ninth in the Premier League. (Sky Sports)

imagine spending 200 million pounds in the summer, drawing against (to be fair we should have lost the game judging by how "well" we played) the mighty swansea city languishing in the bottom half of the table and then gloating about what a success your season has been

i'd love to see some of this fascinating logic sam would have used to rationalize this in his head.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Apr 2018 12:53:02
Hey Ed, speaking of Raiola, if the reports are true in what capacity would he be able to "improve" Everton's recruitment in the summer? If he is bought on board will he be involved in negotiating deals for players or helping identify targets? I'm struggling to see what his expertise can bring to the table.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Mino R is a "super agent", a facilitator who might, if the circumstances suit him organise a high-end player or two moving to Everton for a while. Just to be clear, he would not be a member of the staff or joining the club, he would be in the position of providing advice and removing very significant funds from the club in terms of his fees. With a Director of Football likely to arrive in the summer, I agree with you that it is hard to see how this would work if it were to happen. Mario Balotelli anyone? }

15 Apr 2018 09:47:01
Hi all, Liverpool fan here just want to say how so very sorry I am to read about your GT. RIP sir! - no matter who we support, rivalries and what not, we are after all only human and when things like this happen rivalries don't come into it.

I can see how respected he was around here and what a man by the sounds of things. Condolences to the family and to you guys over here.

Massive respect to everybody for showing a huge amount support to the family at this difficult time, it just goes to show how close everybody is around here / across the sites. What a great community, a community I'm sure GT was very proud to be a part of.

Take care all.

Having had a season ticket now for over 15 years, I am worried by the fact that I no longer am looking forward to in talking about or watching an everton match. The system/ s we are playing are of the most prehistoric I have seen in my 32 years. The Manager seems only interested in 'the job' and lacks any ambition or care as to what I believe the fans want to see. I can't speak for anyone else but what I want to see is an aggression and a want to win attitude. I am desperate for a change at both player and manager level. I know that both Fonseca and silva have been mentioned for a long time in the press, but what are other peoples thoughts in regards to changes that need to be made at our club.
CROSBY.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - for me CT everton is a scrapper, it needs overhauling from top to bottom as the whole club stinks of mediocrity, moshiri while being a godsend is as green as grass and needs better advisement as some of his recruitment has been poor, the current manager is a joke and should be first on the list for the chop closely followed by all the coaching staff and jobs for the boys hangers on, then all the players need assessing and quite a number be binned as its obvious that a lot of them are just not good enough, well thats my take on things mate..

15 Apr 2018 10:04:25
We need to stop being the old boys club too many older players come and take the money and not perform. We need a manger who buys into the the whole Everton thing like Martinez did but with a plan b too haha.

United fan in peace.
Thought Fat Sam has always been the wrong person for this club with history. Given his history with the national team he was never going to revive Everton’s strength.
Look what Benitez has done for Newcastle. I would have thought Everton would have gone for Benitez although it’s still not too late.
I hope Everton come back again after replacing this waste of time manager. Good luck.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - sam is the wrong person 666 and this has been apparent from the start, raffa is realistically a non starter at everton after his historic rant where he called everton a "small club" but we do need a new man at the helm mate..

15 Apr 2018 10:47:41
Agree with ed mostly but i would have walsh in top of that list.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Apr 2018 10:54:13
I agree with you Ed. The use of Brands and Raoila also seems like a promising step. I do believe a major overhaul is necessary particularly as in regards the hangers on. I was thinking in particular the role of Duncan Ferguson at the club. I find it hard to believe that he has lasted on the coaching staff despite having had four managers since his arrival on the staff.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i dont have a problem wit the old boys CT but i do want a clean slate for our hopefully new manager..new broom and all that..

15 Apr 2018 12:29:37
Why is there a problem with Big Dunc. His commitment to the club can't be questioned. I'm not saying he's brilliant or anything but why slate him? He's a coach as far as I can see and I presume doesn't make the big decisions. Probably given plenty of instructions on how to carry out the coaching. In my humble opinion he's one of the few who genuinely care about the clubs best interest.

Agree3 Disagree0

15 Apr 2018 13:12:51
I am not doubting Duncan'love for the club and yes he is a coach the same as Jan kluttenberg was under koeman and as Craig Shakespeare is under Allardyce. The first having left at the same time as the manager and the latter more than likely leaving when Allardyce finally does. Alan Kelly left when unsworth stepped down as caretaker manager. To be fair Duncan seems to be having a lot more involvement in conversations and desicions on the sidelines under Allardyce than what he has had under previous regimes this is of course just from my view of the dugout.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Apr 2018 15:02:17
Fair enough CrosbyToffee. He is hardly number two to anyone. But I take your point on him getting involved. He obviously has to prove his worth like anyone else. I hope he does by being a proper chance. If he doesn't then obviously he shouldn't be at the club. The shake up in the summer will probably determine his future for the foreseeable.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Apr 2018 15:50:19
Didnt Tosun come out and say it was down to Dunc training with him on a one to one basis that got him back in form. Trainers as far as i see train the lads but they can only train the squad that Walsh has put together. Its then Sam who picks the team. that's why i think Walsh is the main culprit. He put this squad together and neither Koeman Unsworth or Sam seem to be able to get anything out of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Apr 2018 18:09:56
Can't disagree with that Ray. I do believe that Walsh has struggled massively at everton and a number of his signings have failed to live up to the money we spent on them. I would certainly be interested to see how Brands coped in the Premier League particularly with Raiola pulling the strings with regards players coming in.

I see the Echo say Scheiderlin had a better game against Swansea but really. what does he do for us?
What is his role? What other midfielders does he resemble?
He sits just in front of the back 4, he gets by passed by the opposition most of the time, just look at our defensive record. He can't seem to pass anything longer than 10 yards and most of the time it is backwards or sideways. He has no pace. Apart from the goalkeeper he gets into the opposition half less than any other player and never into the final third
Is he as good as Ferdandhino, Matic, Henderson, Dier, Dembele, Kante, any other defensive midfielder in the Premiership, even Championship? What is his purpose? Am I missing something - what does he do for the team?

That is two fair games we have had out of him since the beginning of the Season, perhaps his confidence is returning. There is a good player in there somewhere. Perhaps the summer break and rejigging of staff at all levels will see a turnaround of many players form. No good us moaning and whinging at this stage though. For me I wrote the season off as soon as we were safe. More importantly though recent events (Grumpy) demonstrate that in perspective it really is only a game.

His passing was terrible for all us on this site, but since his passing, the love shown for Grumpy is unreal, not just from us Evertonians, but from Liverpool and Manchester United fans too. Can I just say respect to all that have been on this site to pass on their condolences. I'm sure I can speak for us Evertonians in thanking you fans for the support shown to Grumpy and his family.
