Would be ecstatic if we got Dempsey, another striker to sign on a permanent basis along with him will be a good window for me. PKBLUE

Really? Good 3 years ago, not now. Enough old men in the team, hope Robbie has others in mind.

Would take Dempsey in a shot. Was fantastic at Fulham took a wrong move to Spurs but has performed consistently at International level throughout. Would be a class addition for those months when the games come thick and fast. He can occupy the position behind the striker or play wide. He gets goals and works hard for the team. A top player on his day and one who would definitely add something to a midfield that often struggles with injuries and indifferent form.

may as well apply to get tim cahill back instead of him as they are both similar players and are at similar stages in their carrers. used to be class moving into the box and winning countless headers, but about 2/3 years past it now. CraigHuytonBlue

Where's this Dempsey was good 3 years ago come from? He is the same player now as the one who we were desperate for when he was at Fulham. To compare him to Tim Cahill as a player is laughable! They are nothing like each other bar the fact they can head a ball! In that case let's get Duncan Ferguson out of retirement because I'm sure he can still head.

To compare dempseys head to Cahills is a bit harsh on Cahill to be honest! Whilst I think Dempsey is a decent player there are many others I would rather see us spend our time on.

Does anyone know what has happened to Jelavic? when he came he was a fox in the box, but is now becoming the forgotten man. Would love to know if people think he could get back to his best. {Ed025's Note - for me, he is never going to recapture his form of when he first joined, he has lost his confidence, but even more his passion for the club, its time to get rid if you ask me, its a shame, but a club in our position cannot afford to carry passengers mate..

I kinda think it just fell for him the first 6 months, he was great at running onto to the ball and finishing first time, now he makes air kicks 3 yards out and is blowing chunks afta 10mins although poeple blamed moyes for making him run the flanks its clear now he just isn't good enough, my pet hate with him is you can gurantee if he plays 90mins he will 15 ahead of the opposing striker for offsides.

Unfortunately for Nikica he has no actual footballing skill. He can't do anything. He has no pace, his first touch is poor, he doesn't win headers, he can't hold it up, he can't take people on and other than a purple patch when he joined apparently he can't finish. {Ed025's Note - are you sure your not his agent?.. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a hard sell Ed, I've tried offloading him to James Beattie at Accrington but he seems to think he could do a better job himself up there. In fairness to him, his header to set up Naismith for the winner v Chelsea was amazing. I just think there is something very unnatural about the way he plays.

Agree0 Disagree0

I completely agree. He is completely bereft of ANY footballing ability, yet occasionally will do an almost impossible header or over the should first touch. That said, anyone who thinks he will rediscover his early form is beyond deluded, they're just stupid.
