Man Utd looking to make +150 million on kit sponsorships alone. I'm not knocking Chang in anyway, but blimey, we're in Europe now, surley we can do better than that. And unless there's a Billionaire Thai tycoon somewhere in the back ground preparing to come in for us (taking his time laa) I reckon we need to make ourselves more marketable. Come on BK! We need investment otherwise we'll fall behind.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We have always been miles behind in terms of sponsorship but that kitbag deal has made it 10 times worse

What does Kitbag actually do for us anyways??

Apparently the Besic deal is dead in the water. Bill has just been told he's a Bosnian not at Bosman.
Sorry Bill.

{Ed025's Note - good one that rick..

I love Joe Royle and even picked his name to be confirmed ( in the 60s the Irish priest was so pleased I had picked 'Joseph the carpenter' and I didn't dare say it was because of Joe Royle!). But please, he's 65 years of age, no European experience and this strikes me as a, 'job for the boys'.
RM's choice? Sorry but this appointment disturbs me. Is Bill telling RM how to take us forward?
A bizarre appointment.

What channel? Not on sky and Ed you heard anything on Galloway?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - George Galloway's politics are not for discussion here.}

Ed002: show some Respect - geddit? ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You are right, what a nonsense. I grew up in a politically difficult time where folks were looking to change things in America. We had Vietnam, Nixon, Reagan as Governor, the National Guard going in to Berkeley - and these mothers are screwing around with different hip party names. They are a joke. I bet they wash their feet.}

Hey Ed any truth Besic will be having a medical tomorrow?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I cannot answer questions about when medicals are scheduled and why would anyone care. Stand outside until you hear the nurse say "cough please".}

Ed002: oooh, matron!

More movement within the backroom staff as Big Joe comes in to look after the youngsters. Smart move I think, vastly experienced man who will help in the development of the next generation. He is steeped in the tradition of our club which will also benefit the kids. Pleased with this signing even though it isn't the CF we all crave. He'd probably still score more than Kone though :)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Can't understand why only two weeks ago Big Joe was apparently employed as a consultant at Norwich, and now he is our scout and youth development person, pleased yes, confused yes, did he get paid for his two weeks down in Norfolk?

I can't remember who posted a few days ago that Joe Royle was returning - even though he'd taken a job with Neil Adams at Norwich City - but it's just been announced on the club website that JR is indeed returning to work with the development of our young players, so a big "well done" to the poster of a rumour that has actually come true!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That would be me. Thanks.

Here's a selection of some of todays transfer shenanigans and will we / won't we rumours. Apparently we have enquired about the availability of:

Adrian Tameze - French defensive midfielder, about to leave Nancy (the poor girl!)
Christoph Kramer - young German defensive mid, replaced Khadira in World Cup
Joe Gómez - 17 year old Charlton defender
Salomon Kalou - getting on a bit, but had a good last season in France

And apparently Demba Ba is off to Besiktas on a season long loan (must be wealthy / dumb enough to pay his high wages)
Anyone hear any rumblings of truth or a load of Michael Ballacks to any of these?

You'd think, with the blues off to austria that martinez may have made the besic signing wouldn't you?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jul 2014 20:06:29
Yes, however he plays his club football in Hungary next door to Austria so should be easy enough to complete a deal - if we are interested

5 live games for the blues between august and November, that's pretty good for us :-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That's just Premier League. I imagine that our six UEFA Europa League group stage games will also be live - hopefully on free-to-air channels.
Depending on the draw, we might have live Capital One Cup matches as well.
This looks good for the fans who can't get to the midweek matches or travel away (especially in Europe) because of work and/or expense.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't you stream Sid? I live abroad but never miss a game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Steverton: which streaming site(s)do you use?

Eplsite.com Sid. U got to find and click all the crosses to remove the ads, but after that the stream is decent.

Agree0 Disagree0

I usually go through wiziwig.tv plenty of streams on there.

Forgot all about him.
Reading have decided not to assign a squad number to former Holland winger Royston Drenthe. The 27-year-old penned a two-year deal with the Royals when he moved from Alania Vladikavkaz last summer but now appears to be surplus to requirements under Nigel Adkins.
Would we have him back :-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Forget him again! not good enough for Reading says it all!

Agree0 Disagree0

LOL - that's a good one!
A DM reject being brought back by RM.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sod that he never used to turn up for training that's why he was sacked, to much trouble.

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't have left Everton under a darker cloud. Even his teammates politely described Drenthe as 'a bit of an eccentric' and 'quite a character' both said in that way when you mean to say that he was a proper knob.
He also turned up to training drunk and abusive, apparently abusing staff and inanimate objects, the loveable old rogue, then promptly got dismissed the same day. That's what I heard anyway.

Don't mean to be negative but. Swansea have stated they haven't received any bids for Bony, meaning Liverpool aren't close to signing him as the rags stated, therefore they may want Lukaku. and I think if Champions League is the offer, he may take it.

On the brighter side, We are currently the bookies favourite so something may be going on.

Hi Ed what's your take on the Traore situation do you think we will get him again this season

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - if we dont AB, i dont think it will be the biggest loss mate..

It will be the biggest loss in terms of shirt size! - Ba-bump-cha! Ting! Thanks, you've been a great audience! :)

So, we have Kone (unproven at Everton due to his injury absence) and McAleny, Long and Hope (all also unproven at Everton due to inexperience at Premier League level) as our currently available centre-forwards. I'm not classing Naismith or Mirallas or anyone else as an out-and-out centre forward.
IMHO, unless RM has a tactical plan to play with a false number 9 - and rely on goals from the rest of the team - I hope he can bring in a more-experienced effective goal-scoring centre forward or two into the squad. Trouble is (obviously!) that we don't have big spending power, so it'll have to be some negotiation for us to get the likes of Lukaku permanently. Another year on loan would be great.
If I knew the answers, I'd be a successful manager and not just an opinionated fan usually drawing wrong conclusions and viewing all Everton matters through blue-tinted glasses ;-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - join the club sid.. :)

14 Jul 2014 11:51:47
Considering all the speculation about our interest in centre-backs and defensive midfielders, I could imagine the likes of Duffy and Fancisco Junior leaving the club, or at least going out on loan again, if we sign any of those rumoured players. What do others think?

Forgive me for being a pessimist but all this talk of Besic signing for us has gone on for a few days now and how much of a gem he is but am I the only one who thinks someone else is going to swoop in and take him from us? why can't we just sign someone fast without 6 days of news that he is signing because he then goes to someone else. example sissoko signing for Everton ends up at the RS. Hearing some traction about Lukaku but who knows with Everton. I suppose its why we love them! they just love to play with your emotions
