Hi ED , Another young prospect signed today, and with a great look of future prospects coming though, it looks really good for the next 10 years or so....can you ED or any other blues shed some light on the lad we signed today, i know nothing about him...

BATTO EFC {Ed025's Note - joao silva is back , after being loaned out, he is 20, and a left footed 6ft 2 centre forward, very good in the air , and good on the ground, he is a very good prospect, although i dont expect him to figure much this season batto..

Believable0 Unbelievable1

I think he meant the new signing Ed {Ed025's Note - ok ...sorry

Agree0 Disagree0

ED think you will find that the player we have signed today is a different player than Joao Silva, his name is francisco junior i think {Ed025's Note - my bad..

Agree0 Disagree0

He was talking about francisco junior, the portugese defensive midfielder, used to play in the benfica reserves then he was in the man city youth system
EFL {Ed025's Note - yeah i realise now mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, I think he means Francisco Silva Junior {Ed025's Note - i realise that mate ...cheers..

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he meant Francisco Junior Ed...

(Hehe, just kidding, I can see that you're getting annoyed at the repitition) {Ed001's Note - it is needed, it must be remembered that 025 had his telegram from her maj years ago now and he forgets anything that happened more than 5 seconds ago......}

Agree0 Disagree0

I told you all about this deal and all I got was - not heard anything, not now, end of the season etc...........

with the departure of our landon a few days away(gutting) who do you guys think to take up the rm role? Myself i think Moyse should give Drenthe the chance to step up but if he fails then i think the time is right for Jose Baxter he had a good loan spell and seems to of grown up a bit. He is setting up goals and scoring for fun in the reserves he will add a different option to the head down runs we get from shamus. stokesylaa

Check out Everton reserves win against Newcastle today on Everton TV.
6-3 we won, Gueye got 2, Coleman got one on his return from injury, Baxter, Joao Silva back from a loan in Portugal and Ross Barkley scored a top class chip. Worth watching just for that
The reserves are playing excellent lately, 5-1 winners last time out against Man United and 6-3 today, me and my son watch them a lot the future of everton is looking great.... Gueye, Barkley, Vellios, Baxter, Bidwell, Duffy, Garbutt, Forshaw, Mcenely, Davies, plus the likes of Rodwell, Coleman already in the first team.
Well done to the reserves and Alan Stubbs, doing a great job.
MikeTheBlue {Ed025's Note - cheers mike..

Shed some light on this please {Ed025's Note - i dont claim to be "in the know" but my guess is that royston will stay, and so will denis...peanuts is a different situation though, i think he will want to stay, but a lot will depend on how much spurs want for him!..

In 2012/13 if we only sign monales, Staq and Pienaar on loan il be happy. Even one fresh face can have an impact. My team would be:
                              Howard
Coleman.   Jags.     Hietinga.  Baines.
Gueye.     Gibson.     Fellani.   Pienaar.
                            Barkley
                     Staq or Jelavic

Need to build a team around feli, Baines, Barkley and pienaar

Credit where credit is due Mr Moyes
I came on here a while back calling for your head in addition to several players
Throughout the difficult last few months you have stood you ground and not responded to the growing criticism
I believe that offloading Bilyaletdinov & Saha were key to the mood in the dressing room and it was a gamble bringing back Piennar but it seems at this early stage to have been a masterstroke
I still believe thst Steve Round instills a certain level of negativity amongst the squad and indeed the tactics but i am sure you know what you are doing
I have to say that the player that has impressed me the most of late is Big Denis...he seems to have the two qualities Evertonians demand...Honesty & Hard Work...If we could have combined his work rate with the skill of Saha we would have one hell of a player on our hands...but i would take Denis over Saha any day of the week
One final note...PLEASE do NOT sign Drenthe...he has pace but that is about it
He fails to spot a pass as he is only interested in the glory for himself...when he does pass it never reaches the target
he is not good enough to warrant a permenent Royal Blue shirt on his back (and he is a miserable git)
Lets keep the momentum going and turn over Blackpool Saturday!
Big Nev

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Spot on Nev. It's also good to see Moyes with a smile back on his face.... It's been a while.
Without being too critical, one thing Denis needs to work on is to look up a bit more when he's on the ball. Just a touch more awareness of his team mates around him and the lad's a beast! Tevez-like, without the attitude.
I'm trying my best to like Drenthe but, as you say, he does appear to be very selfish. There's still time to sort that though. If anyone can knock that out of him it's Moyes..... Maybe he needs a slap from Big Nev?!

Wizard of Osman

Agree0 Disagree0

Sadly, I agree about Drenthe. If only he could repeat his Fulham away performance every week !

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair play to you mate for coming out and admitting you have changed your mind... But I personally think anyone who was calling for Moyes' head needs to give their head a wobble! No money + no new players was always going to equal a dodgy season. A couple of new faces has rejuvinated everyone at the club.

Moyes has to stay at Everton and bring us that silverware that he really does deserve!

Looking forward to Saturday... 2-0 Landon and Barkley.

Maiden

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on Big Nev, only thing for me would be to lets give Drenthe until the end of the season to see if moyesee can get the talent he does have out properly.

Degsybluenose

Agree0 Disagree0

I think drenthe would play better as a striker or just behind the front man / men. He's being used as a winger at the moment, when he can't cross or pass...... that's where using him as a striker would be benificial -he's greedy = strikers are greedy, he's got pace = strikers have pace, he's one footed = most great strikers are one footed, he doesn't like to track back = all the best strikers "goal hang"

Gods Doctor {Ed025's Note - if a pro footballer cant pass, or cross...should he really be in ANY team?..

Agree0 Disagree0

Pass = yes they should be able to but you can teach that / cross = not really unless your a winger or wide man....... never seen some of the best players cross but they could score goals. my point is, lets use his "talents" = PACE - we saw he nearly scored against Chelski by using them very talents, luckily (For them)Chec had the brains to see it early and was nearly on the halfway line to clear the danger.

I don't think Spurs will come in for Moyes because he is too negative and they are set up to play attacking football plus transfer package would be too great. More likely go for Klivert or Huidink, more there sort of tactics and experience in europe too.

When having your daily browse on EvertonRumours (as you do cos' it's great) I saw the comment about Munich being interesed in Heitinga. Just thought i'd ask people's opinions on him now as he wasn't that popular with most blues fans until this season.
I personally have always liked him and don't think we are in need for any extra defensive conver once Distin hangs up his boots. Heitinga has clearly shown how quality he actually is now that he's been given the chance to play week in week out and I believe Jags will find it very tough to break back into the side once he returns to full fitness, especially since he's not been up to standard with his usual self this season.
What do you think Ed025? Do you think regardless of Heitinga's performances that we need an experienced new face for CB? Or would you say Heitinga's easily fits the bill for the starting 11 now and when Distin retires?

ToffeeJack. {Ed001's Note - I don't know about 025, but personally I think Heitinga is a very solid and useful player, with the ability to cover a number of positions, which is particularly useful when a club doesn't have unlimited funds. Also, I have to say, he seems to be a genuinely decent guy, with a genuine affection for Everton. I wouldn't sell him.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I totally agree with ye Jack

Degsybluenose

Agree0 Disagree0

I had a disagrement with a lad in the Street end last year against Blackburn, when Heitinga was subbed for Rodwell. I thought it was a bad move because Heitinga is a more solid and experienced defensive player: the other lad just crowed that he preferred Rodwell because he is a "better player". Cue Rodwell losing possession on several occassions. I really rate Rodwell, but you need to recognise each player's qualities and limitations. Heitinga is a great defensive player, especially at CB.

Agree0 Disagree0

When Distin retires we need Chris Samba from Blackburn he is quality and has a similar playing style as Distin.
