Though is was a good result, I though we badly missed McCarthy today. but hey Onwards and upwards.

we would have lost that last season under moyes. COYB

I agree, McCarthy would have made that victory a bit more comfortable. I love Osman, but he is better in an advanced position. We need a DM in January badly.

Agree0 Disagree0

When is Gibson back? I know we can't rely on him for a full season, but if he's on the bench, not playing 90mins every week, he's a top back up for DM. I'm more concerned about our lack of strikers. Blue Lee

It's started utd preparing a bid for Barkley .12 months ago might have been worried but why would Ross sign for moyes when he clearly halted his progress, plays in a position were rooney plays, and most importantly he's playin for a club he loves under a manager were he's clearly flourishing in a style of football that suits him .

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the ref made sure we missed McCarthy. He let Parker and Sidwell continuously run through the back of our players not even giving free kicks let alone the bookings they deserved. McCarthy does not allow anyone to bully us. he's hard as nails and fights for every ball. He has quality too. Such a good signing your right we really missed him against Fulham.

I was looking at clips on utube to compare past and present players. I was looking at the first players I watched from the boys pen Roy Vernon and Aex Young and realised that the game that clinched the title 1963 was Fulham at home and thought we could get the same scoreline of 4-1 and maybe it could be an omen that we could win the premiership. I am regreting I did not have a bet on the score but I think were in with a shout. Todays game shows that we need reinforcements in jan, for injuries and to rest players, some players looked tired after such big games.thgfest

Todays result was impressive. For me, this match showed the importance of the winnng habit RM has brought in. Easy to have relaxed and fail to grind out the result against a team in the bottom 3. These type of wins are easily forgotten but are the foundations of playing European football soon. Great result from the boys in blue. Love ya!

Football is a fickle old game. IMHO we didn't play well at all today, but still scored four goals and on paper it looked an easy win but Fulham put up quite a fight. Anyway, 2 good away results followed up with a very good home result puts us right in the thick of it now, if we win out next three games it's possible that we could be top! COYB!

One very happy but still.

Swansea City away will be an intriguing challenge - as will our other fixtures during Christmas and New Year - not least because RM will surely have to rotate the squad during this busy period. I'll be especially interested to see what team & bench he'll put out against QPR in the cup game. We seem to have kept the great team spirit - and, by and large, the good defensive qualities - yet very pleasingly added an attractive style of positive play. Just wish our squad wasn't so lacking in depth - and therefore also wish we were free from injuries.

Well here we go at last 'they're' sitting up and noticing!
Martin Keown just been on Final Score saying the blues are well capable of winning Prem!
We down to 40/1 odds (from 80/1) and that's worth a fiver punt from me!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Aaah - even a dyed-in-the-wool Gooner like Keown must have some "once you've been touched by Everton, etc." in him from his time with us. I also liked the comments from his co-analyst, Garth Crooks, that RM "is a good manager because he always improves players". I don't think I've ever heard Crooks speak in such a positive way about anything to do with Everton!

Ratings: Howard-7-made some good saves and is at the moment the most in form goalkeepet in the league. Coleman-6.5-goal was calm but didn't tackle at all and put in some poor crosses. Jagielka-7-calm again but had 2 really poor headers that put us in danger. Distin-8-solid and made some great interceptions to limit berbatov. Oviedo-7-good all round today and on current form doesn't deserve to be dropped. Barry-9-passed the ball without looking at times haha, great tackling and work rate, best signing this season. Osman-7-took his goal very well but was too slow on the ball at times and was outmuscled on several occasions but was tidy when he had time. Deulofeu-6-didnt cause any problems and gave the ball away at times, let's hope he's back soon though. Barkley-7-overran too much again and gave the ball away too much with silly flicks, played better when he dropped deeper late in the match, he will get better with experience. Pienaar-8-thought he was very neat on the ball and was very confident in possession, good run for him recently. Lukaku-7-didnt score but didn't have any service, worked his socks off and tried his best but didn't happen for him today. Mirallas-7-good on the ball and just came on and looked exciting and looked interested. / Mike-Ox Long

Totally agree with that post ox. Deulofeu tried too hard to impress and so didn't. missed mccarthy. but great result.

It's great that Barkley is getting his opportunity under a manager like RM. One Barkley's undoubted talent, strength, enthusiasm, and desire is matched by better decision-making (that'll surely come with experience), then IMHO he'll be the complete number 10.
KevinM

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Mike but I have to disagree with you on Barry's rating. I'm his biggest admirer but a 9? Seriously? I thought besides his goal, that was his poorest performance to date, so I would have given him a 7 rating. He was unusually misplacing passes and over-hitting passes through most of the game, although he progressed in the later stages of the match.

At last, just been having a debate, sick of people slagging osman off when there were worse players than him on show today, can't we just rejoice in a good comfortable win when we didn't play our best COYB

Agree0 Disagree0

IMH(umble)O, RM will know exactly how to rotate Osman in and out of the first team and know when to sub him and also know if & when to use him from the bench. Osman's 300 Premier League appearances to date are indicative of how well he has served the club - and how much he is rated by the managers he's played under. As long as RM sees fit to select him, them that's good enough for me.
KevinM

Agree0 Disagree0

Ossie is a giant for us. Being critical I think he sometimes gives the ball away in dangerous areas. For that reason I don't like seeing him playing the McCarthy role. Stick him anywhere across the 3 behind Lukaku and he is still such an effective, positive player who can unlock a defense or pop up with an important goal.

It's normally fine for me but recently I have struggled to find a stream that plays for more than 30 seconds without buffering. IM a long time reader and first time poster. i'm in work today and can't make the game, does anyone know if its possible to watch todays game thru streaming on your fone? Thanks in advance

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Depends what phone you've got but you need a browser with flash. Most android devices support flash and are available for free, iphone requires photon, or skywire which you have to pay £1 or £2 for. Puffin supports flash and is free but I've never tried it so can't confirm whether it works or not.

Ok so we are nearing the half way mark in the season and Roberto has proved a lot of doubters wrong. I can honestly say I have not seen an everton team play this good since the 80s. We attack from all angles. The 3 new player's have made such a difference and young Ross is getting a game. Moyes may well be a good motivater and has bought some excellent players. But tactically lacks it when it comes to the crunch. The test will come when we have a blip but this manager will one day end up the barca manager. Hopefully after he brings us some silverware first.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Haven't posted to a long while but this post caught my eye.
Having watched the ultimate team from the 80's many times I have to agree with most of this post; however I thing Roberto will be around for a long time to come.
He just gets Everton and what it is to be part of Everton. I can only see Roberto going if he's asked to go by the club.
