This is the way I see the Sigurdson situation. Koeman sees him as a major part of his putting together a top 6 side. Is Sigurdson worth 50 mill? Put it this way, Man City wish to improve so they went after Walker, is he worth 50 mill, imo of course not, but in order to improve and get the man they wanted, they shelled out. If Everton are serious and wish to back Koeman in his judgement, well you can see where I am going with this.

50 million has nothing to do with Everton. We are so disrespectful sometimes. 50 million is the minimum Swansea will accept for a player who they think can keep them in the league which is worth in revenue closer to 150 million.
I don't even get why Koeman wants him. In a limited squad size in midfield we have Schniederlin, Gueye, Besic, McCarthy, Barry, Davies, Klassen, Rooney and as it stands Barkley. That's ridiculous for 3 positions max in the first XI.
I'd rather put that money and whatever was left for a striker in to buying the highest end no9 we can, even if that costs 70-80 mill. We can this season cover all other areas with youth and squad players. We don't have a 9. Give Arsenal 30 mill for Giroud and give the geezer the rest of the Sig money in wages.

You could take Besic and McCarthy out of that team as they have hardly played any football for the past two years. It sounds like Barry will go this week and Barkley too. So after that Sig seems like a must.

We still need a striker, CB and winger after that but Sig is the one we are looking to unlock defenses and galvanise the forward area. Just like Swansea he could mean £150mil to us in the CL in his time at the club.

Svenny. A striker worth that money won’t come to us. We’re not even in Europa proper yet. Sigurdsson is top quality, he has proven this over the years, and he wants in. If he joins and scores 10, along with Rooney 10 and 10 from Sandro we have already bettered Lukakus contribution. Might not happen I know, but not out of the question either. All that for a transfer outlay less than what we sold Lukaku for.

Strikers we have been linked with by papers in past month

Giroud good prem goalscorer not going to happen

Welbeck has lot pace but is quite injury prone

Kalinic didn't do well at Blackburn but had good two years in italy

Dzeko proven in prem and seems to recaptured his goalscoring touch at roma

slimani great record at sporting but struggled for leicester last year

Bast dos has good record for sporting but could have same problem as slimani

Benteke good goalscorer for villa and now palace wasn't given fair chance at Liverpool


All strikers are big target man but just wondering who would be one you want most for me be giroud then benteke then dzeko.

Might be on my own with this one but what about Ulloa? He is a target man who causes defenders grief and Rooney and Sandro could play off him.
Out of the list, I would go Slimani. I feel Leicester play to Vardys strength of balls over the top and Slimani was often played out of position to accommodate this style of play.

Agree milomj, think Slimani for me. Has a lot of pace and energy. Him and Sandro would cause defences a lot of headaches.

Does anyone think TV from Barcelona is a good move, he's going to be another Gibson, 1 game out for months, I no it says it could be a loan, but to me sounds very desperate, would like to see a positive move, this is like taking someone else's rubbish, I no on his day he's good, but he can play more than a couple of games before he out again, once the transfer window closes we are stuffed if he gets injured.

Said it from the start. We offered 40 got it turned down, then we offered 45 (48 in some circles) apparently gentlemans handshake and then we (again apparently) decide to play silly buggars. We knew Swanseas asking price, we either pay up or run away with our tail between our legs, just like Levy habitually does to us.

Ye did not go well for him at dortmund and sevilla but he is goalscorer. Ed 25 who would you like to bring in as striker if it was your decision.
