Evening chaps. United fan here. So sorry to hear about grumpy’s passing. I’ve never posted on the Everton page before but I come over from time to time to read about how things are going to get a more rounded perspective of all things football.

Something which always stood out to me was grumpy’s posts. They were always full of knowledge and passion for the his beloved Everton. With myself only being 23, I found it so interesting to listen to the experiences of someone that has so many great stories of football in a far simpler time. A time where footballers were gentleman and played for the love of the game not the £££s. This platform has been such a great experience for myself in being able to connect with football fans from all backgrounds, cultures and societies. And that is what makes football so special. Grumpy epitomised all this. I read his son’s post further down the page and what a beautifully written post. He will be missed on this page. RIP Grumpy.

So i read GrumpyToffee's final post before his passing, and the responses, and I could Instantly tell that you Blues are as much a family on here as us reds are.

Firstly, my condolences go to Grumpy's family because he was clearly a great father and a wonderful husband. My own father undergoes tricky surgery next weekend and even the 1/ 1000 chance of failure has me incapable of sleep. Your mum and dad are people you never think about losing until faced with the serious prospect. Knowing how I feel even with just a 0.1% chance I could lose my father, I can't even imagine how it must feel if it actually happened. I hope you are all as okay as can be, and I hope GT finds whatever he would've wanted in whatever afterlife there may be.

Secondly, I offer my condolences to the rest of the Everton posters. As I said, I can see you are a family and that the loss of GT has affected you all. I hope that you all find your own peace at the loss of an adopted brother. You call yourselves the people's club, and your response to losing a fellow supporter is evidence enough to me that you deserve that tag.

You'll Never Walk Alone, lads. We may fight and have some pretty tasty derby games, but my best mate at school was a toffee and Ed025 is a proper legend on the Liverpool page! Football and it's rivalries? They're pretty small and insignificant when you really think about it. We are all human and we are all loved by someone. RIP GT.

I had to check what year it was after Sam's interview. Job done after reaching the mighty milestone of 42 points. It's like he took it straight out of Moyes yearly qoute book.

Job done, Jesus. Remember when job done was the last game of the season? Instead he thinks just reaching this total is it. He couldn't be further from being qualified to be an Everton manager.

He should be sacked immediately with a statement like that. Why bother going to anymore games?

I absolutely hate him being anywhere near our club.

My feelings exactly bluejohnuns I can't stand the arrogant gum chewing tosser. Made a living out of getting to 40 points and winning nothing.

Totally agree BJU. I can’t believe what I’m seeing right now. It’s so depressing. And the lack of understanding of the club is just upsetting. To come to struggling Swansea side and play as if we were the team in troubl is just not good enough.

The main thing for me is that he had the opportunity to try something new in the last 3 games because we were safe and all he can produce is the same rot that got us in this mess.

He’s a fire fighter that’s hanging around weeks after the fire was put out. Go home Sam, there’s nothing to see here.

I saw that and just thought bugger off. One thing you will never hear from him is Nil Sat is Nisi Optimum. We all have our time and place but this isn't his. He just doesn't get it.

After supporting and watching Everton for 72 years I hate to admit that I enjoy watching almost any other team playing including Liverpool. We have to be the most boring team in the premiership. No passion, no desire, no interest, no talent, no plan, no strategy, no anything unless getting a point from the likes of Swansea is a plan. I know that it is important to retain our position in the top flight (just look at Leeds) but this is an entertainment business, their has to be some balance between the two needs. Moshiri has to make changes otherwise I fear for our future, lose the supporters and the way back is going to be difficult. The fact that we are now second best to Burnley who are now best of the rest, says it all.

I feel exactly the same Mike. Don't see any identity what so ever. I miss overlapping full backs and forward runs from midfield to support the striker. One can wish.

Got to hold my hand up here, if Morgan keeps playing the way he is then I'll be more than happy. Another good performance today. Thought Jags has been class lately but not feeling it with Rooney. Just seems to allow massive space between defence and midfield and it just let's teams run at us.

I agree with that Joe. I've been a critic of his this season but the last couple of games he's been back to his best. He needs to carry on like this now.

Disagree, both he and Rooney slow the game down. With Rooney in paricular in his role, the other less experienced team members look for him. We are safe now Mr Moshri, time for a positive move, no more hesitancy please.

Ducks your spot on. doing nothing. that's nothing bad and nothing good is not playing well. don't post too often nowadays, but the with Rooney, Schneiderlin midfield has no teeth and no pace. never wanted Rooney. didn't get it and didn't get carried away when he scored the odd goal. and Schneiderlin. apologies but when your team ( and I include Mgmt and staff) lacks guile, grit and ambition, it's easy to look ok. the lads pants. his quality when he first joined was to bring calm to our side and slow play. which was needed. but all our play is slow now, so his role is pointless imo. Our midfield needs gueye and Davies or a fit McCarthy not pedestrian players. Dare I say it if our midfield had the same grit and intensity as some of the poster support on here they'd be top draw!

Big Sam very happy with the away point and his job is done as he says. He has kept is from relegation and that is all he is interested in.
Please please please, get this charlatan out of our club. The ambition this man has is filtering down through the players.
Swansea like most other teams we have beaten this season, should have won. Why on earth he takes of an attacking player and puts a defensive one on, when were drawing and have nothing to fear.
This can simply not continue.

With the remaining games left, we need to rid Sam and bring in Silva now to give him the remainder to look at the players.

What will happen is we will wait until the summer for Fonsesca, that deal will fall through with him either staying or headhunted by another club, that then leaves us going for a few others, before finally settling for Silva, by that time, the World Cup will be in full swing, hard to buy players until tournament is finished.

That then leaves us little time to get players in as well as look at the current squad.

If we are to have any chance the next season, we need to act now and give the new guy a chance to assess the squad, with the remaking games left.

Two thumbs down already, let’s see what happens in the Summer and if we do indeed end up with Silva after being knocked back by other managers then eventually get Silva.

That could have been a few weeks to watch the team play first team matches or try out formations and different players.

I will say no more on the matter until we land our manager in the Summer, personally I have a feeling it will be Silva.

Silva, for me at least, is another Martinez. Starts off well but his managerial frailties show in the end. I would settle for anyone if it means SA is out of the hot seat asap though Nev.

i don't understand, why does sam speak with great certainty that he'll be here next season, am i reading too much into this, could it just be he's just trolling everton and winding the fans up on purpose at this point? he literally hailed ings and solanke as one of the greatest attacks this season, i genuinely don't understand.

Just watched Big Sam and he reckons he is very happy with a point what planet is he on we could easily have been beaten by 4 or 5 goals or even more, he has to go went can't be watching this dross next season, that was truly awful.

That was dull wasn't it. We had very little threat going forward and were second best in most areas of the pitch. I've had more excitement watching paint dry. I can't wait for this season to be over.

Apart from the goal, pretty much same old for same old for us. Not too sure why we play a midfield 3 with Gueye pushing, feel like there is more cover with Gueye next to Morgan and Rooney allowed to free roam. We need his creativity but his legs aren't there so it's putting us under pressure. Goals a goal anyway, mad what happens when you attack. Build on it second half blues.
