Re Osman versus Barkley. if you all read my post, you would see I said both Barkley and Osman will have a role to play this season. I think Barkley came in and did a pretty good job. I also think the opposition are getting wise to his abilities now. Likewise I think those who say Osman is past his best may have a point. That does not mean we should discard his talent. I played in the Wirral Sunday League (yes that high a standard) and am happy to say that Osman is a million miles better than me. I take your points about playing for England, but anyone who does play for England must be pretty good in my view. Certainly better than any poster on here. To say one player is brilliant and the next is crap, just says to me that the person saying it knows nothing about football.

You seem to have a pulled back on your view that osman should be starting ahead of him, no one is disputing that osman has been a good servant for the club I think your mixing that up with form and actual ability, he was playing good and got a call up but a call at 31 dosnt make you a great player if he was he would have been in the squad before.

Theres no question that osmans better than any poster football wise but a pair of eyes and 13 years of being a season ticket holder i'd of thought I would be able to notice a good footballer when I see one

Well I think Osman has been a great servant to EFC. We do not have too many lifelong Evertonians these days and when one comes along I cherish him. Tony Hibbert was slagged for his abilities for years, but I adored his tenacious tackling. Phil Nevilles tackle on Ronaldo changed that game. I am not saying Osman tackles at all, but pointing out that a great football team has many types of player. I don't remember saying Osman should always start before Barkley at all. I thought I said there was room for both. Not sure where you got that from?

Degsy . be honest and answer me .which of these teams do you think osman would get in . arsenal . Manchester United . man city. spurs. chelsea . lpool. iam tailking about right now. no oh he"s coming to the end of his career rubbish just a straight forward answer.look forward to hearing from you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Degsy your argument was that osman had played for england recently and barkley was being talked up for suttin he isnt, maybe i'm putting 2n2 2gether and getting 5 but your was basically saying ossies better, he's not mate, play the kid with the big future who can beat a man and shoot with decent power.

to end the discussion barkley should be starting and osman coming on in the final 20/30, just because you have been at the same club all your life that dosnt mean you have a pass to the starting line up

coleman-donegal, jags-sure its sheffield united or now us but I've heard rumours about arsenal and utd being his boyhood club, distin-psg, baines-liverpool until 15 then everton since, mirallas-standard liege, barry-brighton I think, osman-everton, mccarthy-celtic, barkley-everton, pienaar-ajax cape town, lukaku-anderlecht, not 100% on most of them but these are the most likely or the ones I've heard

Jags grew up supporting Manchester United as he comes from Manchester. And i'm quite sure that Osman was a Liverpool fan as a boy.

Ed, just been scrolling down posts and seen one where you mention that the site particularly doesn't like hostility between clubs. I feel the need to apologise for my cutting Chelsea outburst a week or so ago. It was meant as banter and to get a bite from the other Ed but could easily have been seen as abuse. So if I did offend I'm sorry about that. Everton posts from now on :-)
Hank {Ed025's Note - no biggie hank...its just a way of stopping trolls on the site from being abusive and disrespectful towards other supporters mate..

Seb {Ed025's Note - they are all decent players seb, and would certainly improve us, but so would a lot of others out there, im sure bobby has his own targets who he will looking to bring in mate..

Yawn, International week again so posting a memory of best/worst own goals for or against us.
Mine is Sandy Brown's diving header that put Liverpool three up against us in the1969 Derby (it was a nightmare moment but with the ball flying into the top corner. an absolute gem!).
We got our revenge later on in the season however, winning 0-2 at Anfield and going on to win the title.
So any better own goal memories?
