There will be a change in the board room.
There will be a change in the roster.
There will be a change in the manager.

So the question to ponder for the next two months is. who?

Other posters and Ed's have greater insight, but from my standpoint, do we want to bet the house on an up and coming manager like Silva or Fonseca?

Or do we want someone who has managed at the top levels, won silverware, and has been in the PL.

From what I can say, and this is my opinion, destined for thumbs down for certain, but I would rather buy Rafa off Newcastle.

1. PL experience
2. He's done wonders at Newcastle despite a cheapskate owner.
3. You know exactly who you are getting and the style of play and management.

The margin between 8th and relegation fodder race was too close this year for comfort. We can't hand the keys to a rookie or inexperienced driver.

The team needs wholesale changes (roster and strategy and tactics and execution) . The only fellow I can think of big enough to do it is some like Rafa (or similar experienced manager) .

RM and RK and SA (he kept the team up in reality, though calling it "not pretty" is and understatement) were short term sucess with eventual failure) . No more roller coasters, get a solid manager with experience.

And bring Lookman home. Tosun up front and Walcott on the other side. Gylfi to feed them, Gueye and Davies in the middle, and Coleman, Holgate (or someone else) , Keane, and Baines (perhaps someone else) . Pickford in goal. Not a bad starting place. but not a top ten roster for next year.

I'd say Holgate to start over keane if we bought another centre half in, think he's already better than keane who looks like his level is similar to Williams, teams that sit back and are pummelled with long balls in.

So a season that promised so much has finally ended. We now sit and wait to see what the next chapter is at our beloved club.
I feel that SA will be relieved of his duties and we will have a new man in charge before the World Cup.
I didn't want Sam and never thought we were in danger as much as was being made out, what we need now is a new man with fresh ideas but most importantly with an emphasis on attacking in games rather than not conceding.
I have a feeling it will be Marco Silva in by the end of the month as he is not tied down so is a straight forward recruitment.
I look forward to next season and go into it with no expectations and all I ask is for the club to be going in the right direction on and off the field, and that's forward, without SA.
COYB.

Yes I have a feeling it's Silva. I just don't get a good feeling with him though. Nothing against him at all. He's supposedly declined offers. Well if that isn't calculated. I still fancy Fonseca. But he's supposedly going to West Ham. Only just entered the race "supposedly"

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2018 22:29:05
If you believe all the rumours West Ham will have Emery Pellegrini Fonseca and Silva all replacing Moyes!

The CEO, out
The chairman, out. (hopfulley)
The manager out, (almost certainley)
The coaching staff, (gone with the manager)
A list of players longer than your arm out.
Ok, it's been a pig of a season, but we live to fight another day (how much of that we have to thank sam for is a discution for another day) but the important thing, is we start with almost a cleane sheet, but also with an owner who has shown his commitment by buying further into the club.
Finally let's not rip into each other, we have a chance to build something great, total comitment behind the owner.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - we need to start again jcw, get behind the new manager (if that happens) and give him time, this is not an easy fix at all mate and we as supporters need to show patience and loyalty because i can tell you now it will be a long road, i think if we see commitment and endeavor from the players then that will be a good start and hopefully we can add quality and entertainment along the road..

13 May 2018 19:59:20
Not sure how you can still think that SA will be retained after this season, Ed. I know it's not confirmed but the writing's on the wall, no?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - it may well be hugo but some within the club seem to be happy with the progress under sam, obviously moshiri will make the final decision but nothing is stet in stone yet mate..

13 May 2018 20:16:09
In danger of being left behind with that mentality. Have a word with them for us, will you?! Haha.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - if it were up to me hugo i would be having a word with me steel toe cap boot mate...right up their jaxi,s..

13 May 2018 20:23:18
Good posts above. long road ahead surely but big Sam was always temporary. An 18 month contract from the beginning makes that obvious. Good times are ahead. The club is progressing, I'm excited for the future. We have some very good young players with additions coming in and retaining some players the future is bright.

Agree1 Disagree1

13 May 2018 20:36:29
Think they'd get the message; can always count on you, mate!

Agree1 Disagree0

13 May 2018 21:38:08
What worries me is that the ones in the club who like Sam, will like any manager who spends little and saves them from digging deep into their pockets. They need to go if they cannot match the visions of FM. We expect our club to be challenging the top 6 and collecting silverware along the way. FM appears to want the same. Hopefully when he increases his shares things will be better at the top and that wanting to challenge will flow down to the right manager and players.

13 May 2018 22:31:17
If they can’t see the writing on the wall regards large Samuel I will spray paint it in big bold letters for them!

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2018 17:01:37
So much for my predicted 1-1. That was complete and utter rubbish. West Ham were better than us all over the pitch. They tackled better, passed better, they defended and attacked better. This season has been one of the poorest I can recall and I for one am glad/ happy/ extatic that it's finally over. Fat Sam needs to go, as do some of the players, and the board needs to act fast. They should imo start the cull fist thing in the morning.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

13 May 2018 17:16:00
Got to give it to West Ham. They played well. Arnautović was a pain in the butt all game. Everton struggled first half Gueye I swear spends most of his time on the floor. Niasse's goal was a class piece of control assisted head by Schneiderlin. Their first goal I thought Pickford possibly could of done better. I'm no goal keeper saying that. Their 3rd goal probably a contender for goal of month at least. I've repeated this so so many times, but we faf outside the box. Our build up play takes so long the opposition have all their men back. Our attacking play needs to be sorted. Every season it's the same and you can take it all the way back to Moyse. I really do wonder about Duncan Ferguson and his strategy. Season over now let's see what's happens next.

Personally I hope that’s sam’ Last game. Thanks for stopping the rot but I don’t want to waste the money the club has, on future Sam signings for another manager to come if and not like those players. I know that’s the case with all mangers and what they inherite but I definitely can not see anyway Sam could be at the club longer than next season so why wait. He has done the job needed but it’s so poor to watch then yes I’d rather run the risk of the unknown even if it’s relegation (my worst fear really) but attempt to have an attacking mind set, go at teams and have Try and impose ourselves, with balance obviously, we aren’t city.

Anyway I think I’ve digressed, for me Sam out (but thanks) on with an exciting period for the club. Oh and Rooney out but with love and thanks.

Finally I’d just let be to see us have a visible plan, putting the right people in the right position (not a chief scout as a d. o. f)

Enjoy the break everyone the madness will soon be upon us again.

Preston Blue, got to agree about Rooney out with love, what a great guy took a 50% pay cut to join us, how on earth could he manage, i swear i saw his missus at a soup kitchen in Croxteth, he must be on the bones of his arse.

In the circumstances that result surely makes up the minds of those with the task of appointing a new coaching team.

Awful again. TD ran like a wild man but I feel the flip flops are on and the players are quietly praying for a change.

Feels like a wasted year but if the club learn and cut out the errors, it could be a priceless experience.

Won't be buying the DVD.

It feels like Everton have become this year's joke. the board, director of football, manager, team and fans. yes we've played our part. especially at home ( just my opinion) . I've witnessed the great sides and seen the bad sides. the really bad depressing sides, and although we finish top half this season, to me it feels like the worst season ever. the club seem are analogous to a blind man who can't find his own a! se hole. They need leaderdhip and direction, and then maybe I, and others like me will regain their faith. so disillusioned!

Potentially good news - This could be the last 45 minutes we have to suffer of Sam Allardyce!

but we will still be left with the same rubbish players cos believe you me its not all nobhead sam those players are a fuking disgrace to this club and I hate everyone of them and would gladly drive them out of the club.

13 May 2018 21:04:44
calm yaself alan lad not every player is a disgrace some care, coleman, tosun, gana, jags, Baines you can see they try and put a shift in too much dead weight but to say you hate them all is a bit drastic.

Livescore has our team consisting of 8 defensive players inc keeper and 3 defenders on bench. that's it sam, give the fans value for money.

Last game of the season today and if the Hammers are up for it it could be a good game, but I'm going for a mediocre 1-1 draw.

Hope everyone enjoys the break and the W/ Cup and comes back with renewed optimism and enthusiasm regardless of who is manager next season. COYB.

Allerdyce i'm ok with leaving. But Sammy Lee I'll be sad. I love his raw passion in the side line.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

13 May 2018 14:16:22
Has he brought anything else to the team though?
Passion is one thing but what he does in training is anyones guess.

13 May 2018 13:31:43
Hopefully Alladyce last game today. Also went Tranmere game yesterday and they showed passion and great team spirit after going down to ten men. Fans were loud as well one thing noticed is when they went quiet, Mellon turned round to them and was ushering them to make more noise at the game that we need as manager for Everton someone who cares about club.

Further to my post below it is now being reported that Mr Moshri will be making an imminent decision about getting rid of Big Sam and also that Bill could be stepping down, could be an exciting period for us fans in the next few days, fingers x please.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

13 May 2018 13:04:39
I thought Koeman was Moshri's man. I read that Moshri pressing the panic button brought Allardyce. Why the excitement at the prospect of more Moshri decisions?

Sunday rags saying Wayne could be staying for another season at Everton, being said also that Bill has convinced other board members it would be a poor decision to let him leave, and saying Big Sam will be paid off for the remaining part of his contract, also massive shake ups are planned for the Chairman and also the board, Please let this be Big Sams last game for us, and we can look forward to a great transfer window and great next season, under new management whoever it is and we can get all behind them.

13 May 2018 11:37:46
Top scorer this season. Would need another goalscorer to replace him.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 May 2018 12:40:40
He scored 10 goals before Sam came, and has scored 1 since we've had Sam as manager. I would say that we should question Sam's ability rather than Rooney's. I agree with Degsy and still think Rooney has something to offer. The best managers can find a way to utilise the best players. Rooneys legs may have gone but ability-wise he's the best player we have.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2018 13:29:03
Thought he was awful this season but so was everyone don't think he should have come back but now he is here would like to give him one last chance under a new manager maybe just maybe he can prove me wrong.

Agree0 Disagree1

13 May 2018 08:22:36
Last day of a very long season today.
And then the intrigue starts. Do we keep Sam or does he get a pay off?
Who comes in if he goes?
When/ Will Brands be announced? Media seem to think it's a done deal.

Shakhtar Donetsk season doesn't finish till the 19th so if he's in the frame I can't see anything happening till after that.
Silva is sat doing nothing so should be appointed quickly.

One things for sure, next week is going to be a pivotal week for this club.
Let's sign this season off with a good win.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

13 May 2018 08:35:39
Or of course nothing might happen and we all wait for a change that will happen at a later date? Don't shoot me down but knowing EFC it is a possibility!

Agree0 Disagree1

13 May 2018 09:14:11
Moshiri will surely have to back or sack him with all that is going on.
Sooner or later someone is going to have to start selling/ buying players for next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2018 09:18:43
Been looking forward to this day for quite a while Smit let's get the final whistle blown and then see what happens. Hopefully Sam to go, Brands in, new CEO and Moshiri to get Greens shares so he has more influence as as much as I like Bill he needs to step down now. Roll on next week and some important questions being answered.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2018 09:48:34
With you all the way Smit mate, may it happen sooner rather than later.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2018 09:54:54
It might be all to do with brands appointment, once he's put into place then it will be sacking and hiring, some managers might not be happy being under someone and like to be incharge of transfers themselves, then that changes the out look on who we have as options as our next manager.
