What are the chances that after the FA cup match Moshiri invites his best mate Usmanov over for dinner have a smoke on the Hookah and after downing a few Vodkas convinces him to buy the remaining shares in Everton and sell his arsenal shares to Kroenke. Cause I'm sure Moshiri will say to him. Once you have been touched by Everton there is no greater feeling and no turning back. He could also make a decision or two as well. I guess I'm just getting more greedy now.

I reckon (my own conspiracy theory) this is already the plan Aussie, we will know soon enough though if Usmanov sells his shares, now that would send us into meltdown as there is only 1 thing better than a Billionaire investing in your beloved team, when 2 Billionaires do!

. Hahahah. bloody typical that, think we can now kiss goodbye to any idea of Bobby bull being dismissed this summer. blue Bill is still clearly in love with him. mind you, it's not his decision now it's Moshiris being in the majority and he thus far has said nothing. personally, I reckon Bobby will still be our gaffer at the start of the new season and he will be given til Christmas to turn our league form and placing round and if he doesn't (which he prob. wont) he'll get sacked between end of Oct- Dec!

Cheers for the edit there, Ed; wasn't aware you could post links.

Heart did sink a little when Kenwright said that, but as much as he might think the sun shines from his backside, it isn't his choice to make anymore. Not had a proper look, but did anyone see Moshiri's face when he said? Seemed to stare blankly in to the abyss.

I'm now sure i'm in the minority in wanting Martinez to stay. Even after getting to another cup semi people complain about him. Have some patience will you! Stones is young and makes mistakes, would I want him sold? No
Barkley is young and has bad games, do you want him gone? No
Even Lukaku who's now everyone's hero was having a few bad moments earlier in the season. All young, all should be allowed to grow and learn.
Why then do we expect a young manager to not make mistakes, have bad games or get decisions wrong!
I mess up at work sometimes and don't expect the sack. We could win the cup which for me would be a great season. I'd take silverware over finishing 4th everyday. The league form will take care of itself once confidence is up and the whole team believes again. Just give it time, we've waited this long after all!

Good post indio77, problem are club has is that the fans are turning into the same as newcastle and liverpool were they want instant success. Kendall altered a lot in his first few years and has to learn under constant fan pressure. in the end the new investor will decide if he trust martinez with his cash. Kenwrights delivered the investment let's allow martinez a chance to deliver the silver. The support yesterday when we got right behind the team from the start made a huge difference.

Young Manager making mistakes! The blokes CV in the Prem prior to arriving at this great Club was a constant fight with relegation. Am I pleased we are on a Cup run, damn right I am, am I pleased we play good football and defend well in the Cup, damn right. Where is our bread and butter! The Prem and can anyone seriously tell me that in that we have progressed.

13 Mar 2016 21:54:38
To be fair he's had two years to learn and still hasn't. We're also not an up coming club. We're an established football club that when he took over were one step from being a CL team. Since then we are 12th now from 12th last season.

If he is learning he should be learning somewhere else. He can come back when he's the finished article.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Mar 2016 21:22:37
With all due respect Indio, none of our jobs can be compared to that of a manager of a premier league club. It's good we are in our second semi-final of the season, and RM has to take some of the plaudits for that, but these games detract from the mess we find ourselves in when we look at the league table. We should not be in the bottom half of the league two seasons running, not with the squad we have. So, if he can take the credit for getting into another semi-final, although that doesn't guarantee we will win in, then he should also take the heat for our poor league form.
Alwaysblue, I'm by no means trotting the path of a red or bar code supporer, you can't have a go at others for having a different view to yourself. Answer this mate, would you be happy to win the cup this season and, under RM in the coming season or so, finish mid-table? Our league campaign is, as ed says, our bread and butter, we should be finishing consistently higher than last season. I'm no fan of RM but the stats don't lie.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Mar 2016 08:19:25
His CV before joining us was constant relegation fights, but also a fa cup win.I'd say he is improving as a manager then.one cup semi final gone and one to come, and to be fair, there's not a lot separating us from the top 6 or 7 places.he doesn't want to be sacked, and I noticed on Saturday that he learned to defend a lead.maybe the penny has dropped and he is listening.all I know is that when we get behind the team,we are on fire.best away support and we get results.moans and groans at goodison, and players seem to hide away.let's just get behind em,home and away and we will do alright.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2016 11:18:22
There shouldn't be anything separating us from the top 6. But there is plenty - 9 points to be exact. That's why we're in 12th. every team outside the relegation zone let's in fewer goals than we do, they don't drop anywhere near as many points from winning positions as we do and they don't repeatedly do stupid stuff like taking men on in their own half when defending a lead in the last minute. In other words, they play to win, even if some teams are not good enough to do it. And as good as we can be going forward, so can Leicester, Spurs, City and Arsenal.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Mar 2016 11:22:16
Also, I don't care what business your in, if you're getting paid as much as Bobby, and you keep repeatedly making the same mistakes that cost your company and openly refuse to change, then you should expect the sack.

On the Everton app, some saying they don't want West Ham, seriously we are better in every department, they beat us with 10 men after a bad sub by rm.

I got no worries who we get, I fact West Ham would be good, put McCarthy on payet and game over like at Goodson.

We would batter them imo, we do every year

We are Everton we should not think like this teams like West Ham should not worry us

I can't wait till next year and forget this one.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

13 Mar 2016 17:27:30
Emmm, Luk said Mourinho didn't want to sell him. It was Lukaku who wanted the move and Mourinho reluctantly let him go. Just like Cech.

There was too much competition at the time for Lukaku to get a proper chance. As far as I remember at some stage last year Lukaku said he'd love to play under Mourinho in the future. That's what ignited the rumours of him going back to Chelsea.

If anything Mourinho coming to Everton would convince Lukaku to stay at Everton. I think we'd have a better chance of holding onto to Lukaku if Mourinho came and the team got more investment.

Not a chance in he'll Jose is coming to us. I don't want him either. The chaos he causes is not what we are after.

We need a Wenger type manager who can bring through the younger players. He is all about the here and now.

Agree1 Disagree1

13 Mar 2016 20:28:13
I agree BlueJohnUns Wenger is probably the best manager I've seen in terms of doing the best for a club in the long term.

However which do you choose that or the success Mourinho brought to Chelsea, Real Madrid, Porto and Inter Milan. No mean feat by any manager. Not many can say they had the success Mourinho brings in such a wide variety of countries and teams. Its no coincidence he won all he did with these different clubs.

I'm not a lover of Mourinho's personality or anything personal about him to be honest. What I am a lover of is the success he brings and the added point that it may encourage Lukaku and Stones to stay.

Ideally it would be Wenger type manager with winning the premiership. I know he has done well by winning FA cup and consistently qualifying for champions league which is no mean feat either. Wenger is very consistent in finishing top 4 in premiership even more so than Utd.

I'm not loosing the run of myself. This is all hypothetically speaking. If Mourinho gets offered Utd job he'll take it and lap up all the attention that comes with that.

All I want is success at Everton. Don't really care who is the manager if he brings trophies.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes toffeepaul. People that put him down all through his tenure won't recognise the fabulous work he done in getting our new investor. I know its early days with our new man but it looks like it is all positive.

Big Bill took time out not only from his busy schedule but from his own personal health problems. An unbelievable gentleman, icon and role model for anybody.

Stadium named after him is the least that could be done to show some gratitude to BK. He layed the groundwork for a bright future. If we do taste success in the near future a lot of it is down to BK.

My only wish is he remains healthy and gets to see Everton become successful. That would be the icing on the cake imho.

I admit to not being RM's biggest fan and would like to see a new manager at Everton. However, listening to a few conversations in the pub last night he has certainly changed the general view of Everton to many neutrals.
In the past, if the teams that are still in the cup this year were there, the general concensus from a neutral would be that they would want to see an Arsenal/ United final.
It was good to hear last night that the majority of footie fans were all hoping for an Everton/ West Ham final!
I'd settle for that - get revenge for last week, then tempt Slaven Bilic to do what he did as a player, leave East London and come back to Merseyside!

I will probably be slated for this comment.
Firstly I want to say a big well done to the team and the atmosphere was superb.
Now I have to say all week fans have been quing up to say (and correctly in my opinion ) how RM must go .
If we win evryone seems to ignore the vast majorityof games that we have lost points is due to RM and nobody else but then a loss and evryone back to being critical .
MY QUESTION IS IF WE WIN CUP BUT FINNISH SAY 12 TH IN LEAGUE WILL ALL BE FORGIVEN?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - not for me trebor im afraid, the league is our bread and butter and should always be the priority, yes a cup run is great but we need the intensity shown yesterday week in and week out for me mate..

13 Mar 2016 11:05:11
we defended well yesterday which made a real difference, question is was this a one off or can we take that into every remaining game? Then you have to question why has it taken two seasons to sort this out? I think this is what will determine his future, if we go back next game to the shambles against West Ham then the knives will be out again!

Agree3 Disagree2

13 Mar 2016 12:56:50
Trebor football is fickle, one minute your the next best thing a few months later your sacked, Gary monk was next England manager at one point then sacked. Football has become a revolving door and players and managers are in and out quicker than ever all swapping clubs despite not being good enough at the previous one, football is fickle and always will be.

Agree2 Disagree1

13 Mar 2016 16:29:46
I would still hope that if we won the cup and finished badly in the prem he Martinez will be sacked.
I believe that we will finish in about 14th or 15th place and that a good reason to sack him.
I have a bet I placed in August that we would finish 15th or lower at 40-1.It is a bet I hope to lose as I love Everton but I admit that for me Martinez is a very bad manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Mar 2016 16:31:26
It came as no surprise, despite our erratic league form, that we beat Chelsea. The way RM plays the game is better suited to knock out competitions, he's done well and surpassed expectations even at Wigan. I agree with ed, although these cup runs are good for the fans, the league is, and should always be, our main priority. It helps that our domestic cups offer a route in to Europe but how many teams have finished lower than tenth then won a European trophy?
Even if we go on to lift the cup, if we don't finish in and around the Euro places then it has been a bit of a backwards step. After all, RM himself promised champions league when he first sat with Bill. At this moment, despite a talented squad, we are further away from that now than we were when he took control. Winning the cup would still be papering over the cracks imo.

Totally agree. We shouldn't be scared of any of these teams. Without Bobby's genius in the last 15 last week, we were way better than West Ham. Palace and Watford are even lower in the league than we are. Man U are crap and totally flattered by their league position (as usual) and I reckon we could do a job in one game on Arsenal - they have the same potential as us to be flaky at the wrong moment. Let's get off the soccer for a moment but am I the most biased person in regards to what Everton do in the community as the best club anywhere in the world. We award a lad goal of the month who has cerebral palsy, or seamus Coleman donation 5,000 pounds to a lad in Ireland who has a rare disease, or Leighton Baines call for Stem Cell for a young lad, or speedo mick being invited by Everton for his cause ( which I am going to donate) as my father here in oz was in palliative care with cancer and passed away earlier in year. I am sure Everton will chip money in. There are so many stories. I love reading all these stories. That is why Man City deserve all the bad luck they are having
now for abusing our most disadvantage supporters.
