Some supporters on here baffle me. For years they moaned about not spending any money. Now where spending it they moan about who we are buying, and for some bizarre reason for how much.
I personally don't care how much players cost or who they are. If the manager and the club think there the right players to take us forward then that's fine by me. And that includes Smalling, who I don't rate but will give my full support if Ron brings him in.
I am loving what's going on at my club. If your not then support someone else.

I must admit I wasn't sure on Pickford as I felt there were other less raw options out there but the lad does have some good stats. But once a player signs and pulls on the shirt they get my full backing and support. It's exciting times!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i must say that i have been very sceptical of us signing him ST and the price seems massive for such an inexperienced guy, but as you say if and when it happens he will get my full support and the powers that be must know more than me so its exciting times indeed mate..

13 Jun 2017 22:11:57
Lots of talk about whether Pickford is the right goalie, whether pogbas brother is good enough. too slow. However, I'm trying to look past that detail, as I believe RK and SW know the business better than I do. the inspiring thing for me is the club are identifying and chasing down their targets early, and they are showing the ambition all fans have been craving for. it's going to be a long few months until a ball is even kicked so sit back observe and see what happens.

{Ed002's Note - I cannot answer questions about timescales.}

13 Jun 2017 21:47:00
Might be because I'm an Evertonian; but, I am abit concerned that sandro rameriz has gone quiet. Would of liked a signed pre-contract but it has all the hallmarks of playing the field waiting for another club writen all over it.
Also spurs want klassen as well so I'm sure that's going to be a painful few weeks for us plus if everton want a player then as per normal west ham and Newcastle will do as well.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - He can't sign a pre-contract - Everton are not going to risk getting caught tapping up a player again.}

13 Jun 2017 22:18:58
Cheers ed, how have man city confirmed deals etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any press releases confirming any signings but they have reached agreement with the players and the clubs.}

13 Jun 2017 22:25:05
Jesus have faith window has only been open 5 days at least we are looking to buy players and I'm confident pickford klasson and Sandro will all sign ED talking about tapping up are our neighbours seriously in line for a transfer ban or is their apology enough to get away with it by the skin of their teeth and if we get caught again what kind of ban r we looking at.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There is no decision on whether or not Liverpool will be investigated but they would hope if they do it will end only with a fine and a warning - like Everton got when they were caught three years or so ago.}

14 Jun 2017 07:16:32
cheers for the reply ED i thought LFC were already on a suspended transfer ban due to the kid from Stoke or is that different scenario.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No. That relates to an academy ban that is for 2 years with one year suspeneded. This is another issue.}

In a perfect fantasy football world mbappe would come in to replace lukaku. Too good for England tonight and can see why the biggest clubs are circling, what a prospect.

Am sick of people saying were not spending because its the lukaku barkley an stones money. at the end of the day we are spending money its very hard to spend 100 mil on players an targets you won't never mind another 100 mil on top of that from players we sold what you won't them to do spend just because its there an get players we don't need i trust koeman an steve mo what there doing can't wait
For the start

Pickford is the choice we wanted then, but i confess I'm a little disappointed. I genuinely hope he is as good as the talk of highly promising career suggests, but for me there are too many unanswered questions.

I believe a keeper at a relegation team often stands out because of the sheer volume of action they're involved in every game. How will he perform in games where he see's much less action? Is his concentration level high enough to do almost nothing but still be alert and ready for a 70th minute counter attack or a shot out of the blue?
How does he react to an expectation of having to keep a clean sheet every game, rather than knowing at Sunderland goals were inevitable and keeping it below 3 was acceptable?
Is he really experienced enough for European football? - the differing styles of play compared to EPL, some god awful grounds such as in Ukraine etc.
Also, how many players have we seen with first season syndrome where they look like rockstars but then can't repeat it again? Michu springs to mind here as a prime example.

Again, i wish him nothing but tremendous success, but i would much prefer proven experience from Butland or Foster than the possibility of someone who could be great but needs to prove it.

13 Jun 2017 21:01:48
Totally gobsmacked! We've just bought the best young keeper in the Premier . Likely to be our number 1 for years. 😍.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2017 21:19:32
Have to disagree Woburn, he's a decent keeper, but for me, Butland is where are money should have been spent and he's only a year older than Pickford.

Agree1 Disagree1

13 Jun 2017 21:25:46
Sorry Worcester but I don't agree with any of your concerns. He's coming to Everton not Barcelona. Going on about concentration levels for the 70th minute and not conceeding more than 2 goals a game but expected to keep a clean sheet. He's a fantastic keeper already, with one season under his belt. Unless he loses the plot or money goes to his head he's only going to get better and better. Some people like Barkley needs constant mothering and telling off like a naughty kid. Pickford has played every international level and I believe to be a true professional. I was excited over the other 4 main targets but Pickford really did get me excited. She don't know it yet but the missus won't be reading her book tonight 😉.
I've never understood why clubs hate paying out for goalkeepers. To me they are the most important player on the pitch. If you got a top goal scorer but a keeper that let's everything in you're going to lose. Whereas if your keeper is world class but the team is struggling to score you're now expecting a point.
Pickford will be worldclass. And all these morons saying De Gea cost less than 20 million so now must be worth 90 million because of Pickford is talking utter shite.

Looking forward to the new season. Going to be our best one yet.

Hi ed

If get Sandro, Keane, klassen and Pickford that will be £80m, pessimistic view on twitter today is we must have £80m coming in for Lukaku, but Koeman would have £80m to spend before sales wouldn't he?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - You should forget the money.}

{Ed002's Note - I mean should not consider financial matters as people don't really understand the costs involved in transfers and it tends to cause confusion.}

13 Jun 2017 20:15:33

I really don't care if the money we are spending now is from the Lukaku to Chelsea deal, I'm only interested in Everton and if it is the money from Roms transfer so be it cause he is as good gone now and I really don't want to ever see him in a Everton jersey again, Coyb.

Things are starting to look good in the transfer window. I'm excited that the deals for klassen and Pickford are all but done we need to have 5 or 6 signings in before the team begin training so they can hit on from then beginning of the season. Does anybody know how the meeting with Sandro went? Would love to sign him, Keane, Gylfi Sigurdsson, and Demari Gray from Leicester.

Eds. wondering about the barkley situation. would he run the risk of incoming players displacing him unless he has been tapped up and knows his destination. because if a top six club does not come in for him, he could be left sweating on the bench at goodison or eating humble pie and going to a club below everton. do you think he has sorted out his future behind the scenes. or is his agent about to leave him red faced.?
Oscar.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - he was told by koeman that he had to sign a contract or face the consequences oscar, if ronnie gets someone to replace him then he only has himself to blame mate and the clock is ticking for him..

13 Jun 2017 13:37:34
Hi Ed 025.this is very good news indeed about potential in comings, just what R. K and Mr Moshiri needed to do, big statements of intent here, and let's all hope it carries on for a few more players and then news on the stadium, really good times to be a Blue, GuernseyBlue.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - we need to get some over the line now GB or when the window opens at least mate..

according to the daily express and the money we have bought for Jordon Pickford from Sunderland is the money from Lukaku to Chelsea.

13 Jun 2017 15:52:11

13 Jun 2017 16:50:51

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2017 14:50:34
When I actually look at it £30 is the total we will pay it's a very good deal in my opinion, as I don't think he will be on £100k a week and in 3 years if he does turn into the real deal it's a bargain and there is profit there if he does leave from business point of view he's had a very good season in terms of performance and even though relegated experience he would of had from that season will be massive, there is not too many we had lots of choice to be fair
Butland £40m
Hart £20m massive wages no sell on value and reached his peak
Forster £30m again don't think he will get any better as he's 27 i think
So all in all I think we got the best one for value out of that lot and at the end of the day apart from De Gea and Courtois are the rest of Gk better that Pickford, matter of opinion.
Just glad we are now being proactive as a club.

Morning blue fans, just wondering if any of the articles about players flying in, or talks with agents over players are true or just paper talk.
Also I'm in Cornwall so I'm a big everton fan for over 40 years so seen the bad and good times, I must admit slot on the Tele, but what's the difference about us being linked and so called talks, to what Liverpool did with VVD.

Unbelievable amount of money for a relatively unproven GK!
Whatever today's market it's a lot of money.
And however bad we can be defensively sometimes, he won't have 30 shots a game to save.
Mind you he can't half 'ping' it maybe it's a ploy so Rom can stay and doesn't have to play with his back to goal. lol.

Think of some of the blunders made this season, take them out and we could be talking the difference between 4th and 7th. This lad could make that difference.

13 Jun 2017 17:46:37
Totally agree.
I wasn't saying I don't rate the lad I think he's class and will no doubt become top class over the coming years.
Hopefully he will gain us 9-15 points a season and like you say that is the difference between Europa league and champions league.

Excellent signing Stef mate looks like £18 mill up front with add ons, am well pleased with this also with Klassen and Sandro, the team is starting to come together with some very good players, if we can have players wanting to turn up and play every game I will be well happy, cheers GuernseyBlue.

Agree1 Disagree1

13 Jun 2017 11:21:03
Wouldn't have been my first choice, but I do agree that he is only going to get better and if the reported 18M up front ( which is closer to his current worth ) , with the rest in add-ons is correct, then it is a good deal.
Let's be honest, it could've been worse, we could've got Hart!

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2017 12:05:40
I think it's excellent business by Everton bringing him in. I'll be honest, before we beat Sunderland 3-0 at goodison i'd seen very little of Pickford and was skeptical of the hype. The game at goodison only backed up what I thought. He looked dodgy coming out and claiming crosses and didn't look like he had the safest hands. Although I heard after the game when speaking to another Blue that he'd been out for 3 months before he played, so I decided to watch a few more Sunderland games. Despite all that what said about Defoe last season, from the few games I watched Sunderland towards the tail end of the season, Pickford was their outstanding player.

It made me think of the situation with De Gea when he first arrived. I'm not saying they're both in the same league, only time will tell, but DDG was a young keeper with a big price tag and a lot of hype. When he first came in he was dreadful, his handling was embarrassing and he seemed to lack any real presence in the box, something that a top goalkeeper has to possess. Although with the backing on the Man U fans he really turned a corner and became the world class keeper of today. Hopefully, our fans will give Pickford the same support to go on to be a top class keeper.

One last thing, I've been looking at how Sunderland fans have been reacting to the news and it's very telling that they're all gutted he's leaving. Many have said he's the best player they've produced in decades. So overall, cracking business by the blues!

Agree2 Disagree1

13 Jun 2017 13:27:43
Now I hope we get Sandro and Klassen we are on the up COYB.

Agree0 Disagree1

13 Jun 2017 09:48:14
Let's face facts, Rom is on his toes isn't he? Yes I'll be gutted, but if he wants out then fine, we, as a club, just need to get the best deal possible. For me, anything under £65-70Mil and we'll have been royally mugged off! And it wouldn't be the first time we've sold an asset to cheaply! Now, replacements, it's looking like we're going to get Sandro hopefully, I don't know much about him myself, but I'll take him, then I'd love to see us go for/ get, 2 of; Dolberg, Iheanacho or Batshuayi, that would give us 3 very good and capable strikers, with the likes of Lookman, Mirallas and Calvert-Lewis to back up when required. Lukaku scores goals and we need to replace these! All of those names mentioned are capable of that.

On to Ross. For me, he can go! I honestly believe he thinks he's better than he is! I find him so frustrating to watch, when he has time, he plays it quick, when he needs to play it quick, he puts his foot on it and slows that play down or takes an extra touch! I get he's an Everton lad, however for me, the team would be much better with Klassen or Sigurdsson playing behind either 1 or 2 strikers! Klassen looks an awesome prospect, 24, captaining Ajax and scored 20 goals last season, yes in the Dutch league but that's the kind of return you'd expect from a Scholes or Lampard, I'll have a bit of that please!

It's going to be an interesting summer. We clearly need to replace a lot of the deadwood, I expect Kone, Niasse, Lennon, Delboy, one of the keepers and maybe even Jags to go as well. We need strength and quality.

I'd take Keane in a heartbeat, as well as Van Dyke, and one of Butland, Pickford or Schmeichel to be number 1.

I'm sure there will be a few more surprises on the way but I really would like to see us get business done early rather than waiting until the end of July or August. Come on Everton, please make my summer!

What do you think boys?

13 Jun 2017 10:58:54
To be honest i am sick to death of all this Lukaku business, the sooner its done and dusted the better. Barkley imo is an empty headed fool listening to a greedy leech of an agent. He's never a 100k a week player just bang average for me. So to be offered that amount allegedly by the club you profess to support and love and turn it down he needs to give his head a wobble (remember Franny Jeffers) Its a simple one for me not just with Lukaku and Barkley but for any player at the club if they don't want to play for Everton then do one.
