I think everyone needs to realize that even if we sign the whole Wigan squad, it will NOT make us a worse team, how can signing more players possible have a negative effect on the team, if we sign them it does not mean they will be straight into the first team. they will be subs and if not reserves. we need a bigger squad as if we get a few injuries with the current squad we have next to no quality on the bench
1. Cause we'd have to sell to afford the whole Wigan squad! 2. What we have now's better than the Wigan squad and 3. About 1 Wigan player's good enough to make our team! I'm pretty sure Martinez will be looking elsewhere for better players to improve our great team we already have.

Davey Weir is interested in taking Conor Mcaleny on loan with a view for a permanent move. I hope nothing permanent is agreed as the kid has plenty of talent and is reaching a stage where he should be getting more of a go with us.
SydneyBlue
RM will give him a go, RM was seen a few times watching him in the reserves

Ed do you know who the person is that keeps posting about NEGRADO, even though its spelt Negredo, why does he insist on spelling it wrong and putting it in full capitals. Anyway, I don't particularly want him, especially as he will cost around the £20m mark, he's already 28, so only has a couple more seasons left. I'd much rather we buy a younger player and develop him in the future. {Ed025's Note - negredo with an A, will not be posted by me..

The key to how many players we sign and how quickly is selling screech. 23 mill and 70k a week wages less to pay. Bill won't want to be paying big fees or wages yet until this happens. To me the arsenal thing is a smokescreen to tempt other clubs to come in. I don't think he suits arsenals style of play. Hope I'm proved wrong but that is how I'm seeing it. Blueboy1878

Ok so Am really bored tonight so I have been on a scouting mission for our beloved Everton and to give Rob a little helping hand if he reads this site! I have chosen 3 free transfers to bulk the squad out and give us that little bit extra.
1st up is Kevin Doyle- had a good season with wolves and I remember we was after him not that long ago still only 29 ( same as kone) but a lot cheap option and gives us another option.
2nd is Flamini- only 29 but as a freebie has a wealth of experience and he knowledge could prove vital to blood some of our youngsters.
3rd- Simao a mid Portuguese looks to have something about him score and created goal last season. ( also fig but he's from wigan so you lot would say no! what you think?
No
Depends on wages
Meh
No value in any of them players, and Doyle is just poor.
Kevin doyle is useless in the prem

Ed how much do you think dries mertens and Nacer chadli would cost, think they'd be quality signings {Ed025's Note - i dont know..sorry..
Do you think there's any chance of us signing mertens or chadli {Ed025's Note - outside chance ..

Absolutely not
In a word, no.

NSNO reporting that we've had a bid rejected for Andreas Cornelius. Heard anything Ed? {Ed052's Note - ive heard of interest from Stoke and Sunderland (I think it was) as well as one other. Nothing about Everton but I haven't heard anything new on him in a bit}
Has anyone seen him play?
13 Jun 2013 16:58:25
Is it just me, but would anyone else be slightly disappointed if Fellaini went to Arsenal? It would say to me that he doesn't have much ambition. Don't get me wrong, if teams like Utd, City, Chelsea, PSG etc. came knocking, I wouldn't blame him for leaving, but for Arsenal? It would deeply disappoint me.
Thoughts?
You could say that about any number of decant players that sign for us, so I don't think we should be so quick to judge.
It would be disappointing if he went to any of the top prem teams. As it would strengthen them and weaken us.
If he went city he has no ambition, can see them being a 1 season pony
13 Jun 2013 15:45:07
Ok so Everton are after the "Bird Man" wouldn't be a bad signing IMO as he is free and would only be on around half the wages of "here's Johnny". But for me if its cover we are after why not got after Douglas of FC Twentey? Braziling born holland Int only 25 and Evertons favorite word FREE! Just a thought!
Douglas would be a good signing
We should buy a cdm like capoue and play him as the playing centre back, and get douglas aswell
Tbh Lew if we bought everyone you have been suggesting we would have a squad of about 60
Lew who don't you want mate
Lew, turn off fifa, you have school in the morning
Free as a bird
13 Jun 2013 15:43:28
I was thinking if we can get 25 million for Fellani. Plus the 25 million we go to spend right. That be 50m on new players I. Buy negrado fer Moses. Mcmanaman. McCathy with that money Negrado 20m
Fer8m
Moses 10m
Mcmanaman 4m
McCathy 8m
Alcaraz. Free
Who said we had 25m to spend?
Keep Fellaini all day long
13 Jun 2013 15:38:32
Ed, now Chelsea have signed Schurlle do you think we have a better chance of getting Moses? {Ed025's Note - that will depend on the fee, and his wages mate..
13 Jun 2013 14:37:02
edd is sydney blue tim cahill? no really who is he and does he know anythin who is he linked to? Does anyone think he says truth? also who do everyone think we will sign. {Ed025's Note - tim has posted before, whether or not its as sydney blue i cant tell you sorry..
I might be. then again?

Hi ed. Can you inform us if Martinez is at finch farm behind his desk working on transfer targets or does this only happen from 01st July {Ed025's Note - not at his desk yet, but putting wheels in motion for the recruitment of players..
13 Jun 2013 13:01:49
We should consider these players. Nani- although this is unlikely. Capoue-Fellaini like player. Fer. Honda. Mertens. Saldado. Negredo. Mcmanaman. Mcarthy. Koval. De Vrij. Van djik. Aurier. Batshuyai (not sure about spelling) Nem
Obviously not all these players, But a few of these plus keeping the players we already got with the exeption of heitinga, Naismith and Geuye, we should be in a good position for challenging for Champions league. Also, a few of these players are ones for the future but could also make an imediate impact.
Would be delighted with any of them. Go for them and we are going for champions leage. Raid Wigan and we are making huge steps backward.
13 Jun 2013 12:18:51
Think we should go for demba ba. or Defoe or bent or lambert some good quality players out there not to dear to partner jelavic plus I think martinez will get jelavic scoring again!
13 Jun 2013 11:59:58
Instead of eating into precious transfer funds- a swap deal with Wigan regarding Mcmanaman coming to EFC and in return we give them gueye + 2 million and the possibility of Vellios, Mcaleny, Stones or Garbutt on loan all aspects of this deal would benefit all parties involved
New manager, fresh start and a clean slate for everyone. I imagine the likes of Gueye, Duffy and Barkley will be hoping to impress and push themselves into the plans of Martinez.
I've haven't seen Gueye play for a couple of years so can't really comment on him, but given that fact I imagine he could well be on his way. I can't see a swap deal happening though
TJ
Ibet Wigan are bursting to do that deal. unreal!
13 Jun 2013 10:43:41
Is it the same guy posting the nani rumours?
13 Jun 2013 10:42:50

Lot's of talk today about Nani coming to Everton. Do we really want to business with UTD? You can bet that if we do there will be a massive sting in the tail. Historically we have always got the s***ty end of the stick when doing business with the mancs and Moyes will not be doing us any favours. Let's face it when Neville and Gibson came, they had both fell out of favour and were surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, Gibson was generally hated by their fans. Kanchelskis was the only exception to the rule that I can recall. Nani would do a job but I don't think it would be worth the hassle. I don't think he would want to come anyway, he will either go to London or back to Europe. (Wavertree Blue)
13 Jun 2013 11:24:54
Wavo you are well off the mark mate, how can you say we got the SH***Y end of the stick from SAF,
Gibson, steal of the century
Neville, great captain and leader for our club
Tim Howard, how long has he been our number 1
Kanchelskis - wow, you did say that though
Have I missed anyone
I may have read your post wrong mate but I believe we have had great deals from them, also would like Nani myself as I think if he played every match he would be awesome for us, someone posted yesterday he is a poor mans Ronaldo, well I would take that.
Sorry Degsy I missed Howard, point I am making is about Utd's intentions. I just don't feel that we should be getting into business with them, because they will take the piss. (Wavertree Blue)
Missed saha degsy
Gibson steal of the century. Crock of the century more like he plays one game misses 4 with a bruised sock, that's why fergie give him away
As I have stated I don't think it would be beneficial at this moment in time to do business with the mancs. (Wavertree Blue)
I think the undoubted steal of the century was Cahill. (Wavertree Blue)
Does anyone remember the Kanchelskis deal? (my all time fav everton player)
UTD tried to back out of it big time after realising it would be a huge mistake to let someone of that quality go
think we got Neville so utd could put a end to the rooney payments
didn't SAF recomend Walter to BK? thanks for that
and in turn watler reccomended DM
If we've had the sh•••y end of the stick off the mancs, it's because they don't have to be generous to a club in our position. Most clubs would like to take even there fringe players, so why should we get special treatment? As a none scouser, I thought you lot hated the mancs!
Nano is a very good player in my opinion and must have fell out with whiskey nose. He is probably too attacking for moyes but Roberto would play him in a different formation. That Said still don't think we would get him.
13 Jun 2013 08:57:02
Getting fed up with all this, If we sell Fell we will get 23m and then could bring in 2-3 players each costing about 6m a piece.
Firstly we won't get 23m
Agents and Felli will get a %
Previous club will get %
Are there any real class players out there like Felli and Baines that we can realistically afford with the 15m that RM will have to spend?
Surely the way forward is to build on what we've got, don't sell valuable assets and replace with average players who will be warming the bench by Christmas.
The nightmare scenario-Felli goes and we wait till last minutes of transfer window for 'super star' who ends up at Arsenal!
13 Jun 2013 11:26:48
I don't think we have a choice Mushy, hopefully though we only have to sell one because we could live without the big curly dude, not without the legend that is called Baines though mate
Mushy you are one of the most negative people I have ever seen on this site, it's depressing
14 Jun 2013 10:03:24
Not negative just realistic
13 Jun 2013 08:39:27
Why r we bein linked with macmanaman when he is injured till october
13 Jun 2013 11:27:36
aparently 2 decent games and everyone is linked with someone, let's see how he is in a season
13 Jun 2013 06:13:31
Study break for exams so of course I have been doing some work planning for next season.
Guessing we have 10-15m without sales. Really hoping Fellaini will stay but I think there's a good chance that he'll go. I can see us bringing in at least 4 players with maybe 1 or 2 leaving.
Martinez likes to player 4-3-3 with 1 attacking mid so at the moment this is how I'd line up at the start of the season before any transfers. In need of a winger that fits the RM bill (fast) and I can see Pienaar filling the CAM role well once we get another winger.
Howard
Coleman Jags Distin Baines
Fellaini Gibson
Osman
Mirallas Pienaar
Jelavic
Out - From these players
Fellaini 24m
Heitinga 5m
Gueye 3m

Good post aussie But r m plays3 at back only if he has a defender like alcaraz who moves into midfield when required and can move back as central defender when needed so he has to have a very skillful ball playing accurate passing tall defender to make it work and obviously jags would be the tough guy alongside him. and felli can't defend. hence players like alcaraz and not duffy or distin types tp.
For me no need to splash our budget like that in this year. Buy only player to bring us to CL. , keep money then we pay for some back up.
Sitea
I agree tp but i'm hoping/thinking that he'll play with 4 at the back and then gradually introduce the 3 defenders if he still thinks its best.
AussieBlue
Martinez says he picks the system to fit the players not the other way round so who knows how he'll set up.
Quinny
13 Jun 2013 08:46:44
I think Ba and Moses will be coming too Aussie
Cheers aussie u know your stuff but a lot of fans think 5 in midfield means 5 midfielders but the Spanish way is 4 midfielders and a very talented ball playing defender pushing up into central midfield can't be a fullback because they wingbacks as required hence alcaraz type. r m loves flexible players and the barca way is to get the ball back very quickly ie 20 seconds after losing it and he will get every body kids youth academies first team all playing same way. and with a new pitch at goodison which is on agenda and he won't be sharing pitch with wigan rugby league ha so the pitch will be sweet all season. then it should be a goodison fortress. away games with that style of football much harder I have done a of reading about r m and his tactics and I don't think we will see many drawn games. rollercoaster on way. tp.
3m for gueye? someone is in dream land
Would be very exciting if they do Degsy. Along with Mirallas they could cause all sorts of trouble. Even those two alone with our current set of midfielders and our back 4 would be a very good team.

To lewblakeley, I think you need to step into the real world with these 'transfer targets who youthink we should sign' they're so out there as are the prices you quote. Latest one Wijnaldum. so he played 3 times this tourney scored a decent goal or 2 and now you want to pay 7m for him? someone I can say with assurity you hadnt heard of before this. i'm not having a go just saying don't get your hopes up of all these great players. this isn't fifa. Saying that though I have a feeling Honda, Negredo and Fer deals are not dead and MAY OR MAY NOT be revisited
The guy just sees a player score or mentioned and just writes the first thing that comes in to his head, no basis to it either, I suppose that's what most 15 year olds do tho
MikeDeBlue
Just rumours mate. Everyone try to show some idea that RM. get it to progress if possible. For me Leroy Fer with his present form we are so far from his signature. And further if he can show his better performance. That 's why I propose Diame who played under RM. with minimum release clause.
I've been following Wijnaldum since his early Feyenoord days and I can tell you 7m would be a bargain. Whether we should go for him, I don't know.
