Not a rumour just my opinion but I don't think we're gona put an offer in for anyone until pienaar transfers/rejects us. As he is moyes' first choice and then he will know how much money he has to play with.

In answer to an earlier post, the Echo stated that the Club (Everton),had officially let it be known that they have had NO contact at all with Wigan or Rodellega, and were not interested and the same applies to Pranjic.....we have not made an offer and he isn't flying over for a medical.....all media crap ! I firmly believe that David Moyes has targets and only the Club knows just who those players are. When he has all but signed someone...we will then find out. Piennar is obviously a target, but I believe we will pull a player out of the blue,so to speak, like we did with Fellaini.....nobody had even heard of the lad but Moyes & Kenwright said they had been monitoring him for about 12/18months before we bought him.Rodellega & Pranjic would not have improved us as a team. Trust Moyes to do what's best.

Believable9 Unbelievable0

Spot on post mate, lets all hope he pulls Adam Jonno outa the bag eh lol

Agree0 Disagree0

In all honesty, I think he's going to go for Jakuba Błaszczykowski from Burrisia Dortmund. He was talking players from Dortmund when he was scounting at the Euros, that man would fit the bill. He's a right sided midfielder and he'll go pretty cheaply as well

HightownBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree the club did well to conceal the interest in Fellaini but it was in the media a few times before because I remember reading it in a few papers at the time and wondering who he was. Went to bed early that night a bit upset after we had just signed Carlo Nash lol but delighted when I woke up to the signing of Fellaini and what a signing it turned out to be.

Since it's becoming the new 4-4-2, I was thinking that a 4-2-3-1 could suit the Toffees this season?

Howard
Hibbert-Jagielka-Heitinga-Baines
Rodwell-Gibson
Osman-Fellaini-Pienaar
Jelavic

Thoughts?

Everton use 4 2 3 1 anyway

I would say the echo is the most reliable source, it said we lost interest in rodallega and prajinic and set our sights on junior hoillet, 22 but as he is under 23 and came from Blackburn academy we have to pay up to 3m in development fees which could drop the interest in wanting him, gutterd. If we miss out on him

Rodellega did not reject us, we rejected him. 70,000 per week x 3 year contract = £11 mill, one hell of a lot for someone who could not hold down a place in a relegation threatend team, scored two goals all season, even victor did better than that.

Hi ed not sure if u remember my post when the away kit was released, it was a bit of a moan that I couldn't uh it for my nearly 2 year old son, well they've only gone and done it again . You can only purchase the kit for 3 and above,I think it's disgusting that the next generation of our great club can not show their colours, season ticket holder since the age of 14 ,I'm now 32, to say am pissed off is an understatement, sorry its not a rumour or banter, shocked and disgruntled, Savefc {Ed025's Note - your right to be mate...i visited barcelona recently, and they had kits for newborn!...come on everton and kitbag..get it sorted..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I feel so strongly about this. My step son was brainwashed in to a r/s by his dad and would do anything to get my son wearing red. The lack of toddler kits does not help my case one bit. I know Evertonians are born and not manufactured and he will never be a r/s but I love match days when we are both sat victorious in our kits and his gloomy faced half brother comes home from his dads having lost again at home - Priceless!

I can honestly say that I think if we are going to sign Pienaar it will be mid-preseason.. My views are that AVB could give him a chance in the side and see what happens and then hopefully make a decision and bring him back home.. What you reckon?

Ste1878 {Ed025's Note - you could be right ste..

Believable0 Unbelievable1

I may be wrong but he doesn't appear to be in the new kit team photo

J0hn80y

Agree0 Disagree0

If pienaar says I want go, I think he'll let him go. That what appears to be happening with modric, who is a bigger player for spuds than pienaar. That's if AVB is in control of transfers. They bought players in when they had no manager!! Blue Lee

Agree0 Disagree0

You could be right mate, BUT everything indicates that Pienaar himself WANTS to leave Spurs and come back home so if that's the case then AVB will have no choice but to sell him unless he wants a unhappy player on 70k a week

Agree0 Disagree0

Why doesn't he just hand in a transfer request if he really wants to leave ?

Agree0 Disagree0

No point handing in a transfer request all parties know the situation and hopefully it will be resolved soon.

Me and some lads in work were talking about possible England teams in the next couple of tournaments
Rooney
Barkley
Rodwell
Baines
Lescott
Jagielka
Walker
Green?? (potentially)

Including this supposed star (green) that would be 7 players that have played under Moyes and HE has turned into internationals and one player (walker) that Moyes had a bid accepted for untill Everton chief scout awwy redknapp stole of us!

Underlines his quality as a manager and coach. Just thought id point it out.

Jelavic

Possible team for Man United game (if no-one else signs that is)

I think this team is capable of getting a result and starting the season well, we do need more signings though, are first 11 and even 1 or 2 subs are easy a top 6 side we just need a few more for the squad because no doubt we will have our customory injury nightmare at some point in the season! Don't do things by halves at Everton do we!
Remember the 2009/2010 season? Benfica and West ham away then Aston Villa and Aston Villa at home, 12 first team squad members injured ridiculous that was!

Looking forward to this season top 6 in my opinion!

Hello Fellow Blues and Eds,

I'm back from my jollibobs, I see we've made
made a signing in my absence,
Welcome ED51.

I see its the same old same old being pushed by the Journos with nothing else to write.

My soujourn to the Algarve turned up
no news about Manny Fernandez
and apologies if there have been developments that I've missed. The only thing I read in the local paper was the Moutinio (spelling) is due in London to speak to spurs, probably no surprise with AVB now in situ

Sorry if this has already been reported
back here already.

Good to see new posters on the sites and people signing in.

Ed, which imbecile at the club has the final say on the new shirt designs each year? Thought last year's was the best home shirt we've had for a very very long time. Then they go and offer us this garbage! Expectations were high but I personally feel very let down. And to cap it all, it's blue socks AGAIN!! BlueTone {Ed025's Note - you will get used to it tone, its not that bad IMO. but i would prefer white socks..

Agree0 Disagree0

Another pathetic rant! this site is about opinions!,and if people do,nt like it then they have the right to say so! I also don,t like it! in fact I think its bland! and as for money!, most fans struggle just to just to get to a game nowadays!! So maybe you should stop "MOANING"....johnmacfromfazak

Terry blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Easy Terry Blue! Everyone has their own opinion about the kits. I'm not the messiah. Do you honestly think that by fans merely posting that they don't like the shirt, it will put everybody off buying it? You need a reality check son. Of course people will buy it. All I was saying was that I don't like it & I won't buy it. I just happen to think there wasn't a huge amount of imagination went into it that's all. I suggested earlier this Summer that Nike come up with two or three prototypes that fans can then vote for. It's a radical idea but we will get a shirt that the majority of fans will like and if those fans know they were responsible for the selection, more of them will buy it. And on the subject of shirt sales, the fact they are available in such limited areas only hinders the amount sold. I live down South and don't get up as frequently as I'd like. With an on-line facility as my only realistic option of buying, I have to take a chance on the size not being an issue. Bit of a risk when I ALWAYS have the badges printed on. Surely it would be more financially appealing by ALL sports shops having a supply country wide than this rediculous Kitbag deal. BlueTone

I see the Kuwaitis who bought forest have wasted no time in stamping their authority on the club and have sacked cottrell, he may not have been the best manager in the world but it's a reminder that the grass is never greener on the big money investors side ! Whilst many blues were questioning why no buyer has been found for our fantastic club and the likes of forest and others are being snapped up by foreign investors I would say billy boy will do what he has to to ensure the best interests of everton are number one and if it takes another ten years then ill happily go along with him.

It's their money and now their club, so i think they are entitled to do what they want, and it wouldn't surprise me if one of the reasons Everton has not been sold is because Kenwright insists on Moyes remaining as the Manager when everybody knows new owners like to bring in their own people.

The bloody Mancs are reporting that Baines is to have a medical with them tmro morning and set to be unveiled on monday. Dont know what to belive now, im just going to put it to the back of my mind and forget about it until something happens. The way they are talking, they have already signed him. Cracks me up, they were slagging off the journos for rumours about lucas moura, yet they believed everything they heard about Baines. Idiots. In my opinion i think everton should start implementing some rules, that we dont sell any of our players to any other premier league club. What does everyone think? If they want to move abroad, then fine, but they cant move to another Premier League team, as i am getting fed up of teams coming in and pinching our players after we make them into quality players. I know its football managerish, but at the expense of somebody like Rodwell, we could end up with a side that can really challenge the top four. Tim Howard himself said he would attempt to convince Dempsey and Donovan to sign for us. Yes Dempsey wants champions league, but he could be swayed by having american friends here. With Donovan listing his home and with his track record with us, signing him with the correct funds should be easy enough. Steven Pienaar will more than likely be and Everton player sooner rather than later, and we should recieve clearance from FIFA for Ste Naismith. At the expense of Baxter, Anichebe and Rodwell, combined with the extra wage money from released players already gathered this year, we COULD have this team, which WOULD get champions league. My Everton dream team.

Howard
Neville Heitnga Jagielka Baines
Donovan Gibson Pienaar
Fellaini
Dempsey Jelavic

Osman Barkley Naismith Mucha Cahill Distin Hibbert

The team I have had in my head ever since the Tim Howard interview on the last day of the season. Tim Howard would never dared have mentioned Dempsey or Donovan if they werent actual targets. If Rodwell left, someone who we have plenty of in his position, and Anichebe and Baxter were to leave, this team is possible. My dream team, thoughts ed? {Ed025's Note - there is no doubting its a good team, but in my opinion, dempsey wont come, and landon will come in jan..

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Agree completely. Rodwell has not shown anything like enough enterprise, vision or winning mentality. Other than being a great athlete what has he really bought to the table.

Naismith is not a right midfielder! Yes he's versatile but that's not his position

I'm aware of that, but if he's versatile (like you said) he can adapt easily to the right midfield role (which he has played before). We all know Fellaini has found excellent form in his position behind the striker so would you want to remove him from there?

12 Jul 2012 00:37:36
Not trying to knock the lad, but I see peoples starting XI's and they place Naismith over Osman? Not saying that he's a bad player, but I'm reserving judgement as Scottish players have done infamously bad in recent years when joining the BPL. I would rather have Osman any day (in my opinion, the English Iniesta and should've been in Poland/Ukraine)

That said, I hope Naismith proves me wrong after 5 games.

Dandan217

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Naismith will be a class act, he proved at rangers he can link up well with jelavic and the rangers fans were very sad to see him go as he is a legend in those parts.

Bez the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen mate as a evertonian but born in Scotland and Celtic fan...it's not the bpl because it's the epl...yes there's no money in Scottish football but that will benefit the game in the long run with local lads getting a break...now let's look at epl take out all foreign players etc leave just English not what standard and depth do you have...a lot of top English players are over payed they have very poor skill level and ball control...getting back to Naismith everton got him out of contract but if there was a fee I think it would have been 3 or 4 million,so what standard of English player would you get for that,we as in everton paid upto 5 million for Jelavic so is Scottish football that bad it was 5 million down the drain or have we snapped up gem..I drink in Lou lou,s or Leigh arms before game and have for nearly 30 years I remember telling them about a young lad playing for Dundee utd called Duncan ferguson this was prior to him going to rangers and then to us...people jump on the band wagon down here to slate the Scottish game but step back and have a look at foreigners in your game and the damage it's doing....toffee bhoy...gujo {Ed025's Note - i have got to say mate..you make a lot of valid points..

Agree0 Disagree0

Less is more is your point here in terms of no money means more home grown talent, that is your point right? So why have celtic only got 9 Scotsmen in their first team squad? Load of balls you have posted right there mate. Patronising to the highest order.

You can give it the big up all you like but the fact of the matter is, if you take away the foreign influence out of most leagues they will be poorer for it, look at the spanish league, the two best players in it are not spanish. To develop home grown players they need to play against a better standard of player than those they grew up with, better coaching is most likely to be the key to it all but to deride our national league behind this premise is farcical.

Mike aintree {Ed025's Note - good reposte that mike..well done mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

So do you think the present England side which represents the so called influence of foreign players are at the same level as the foreign neighbours..no I think not...England are pi-- poor and that's with the added luxury of being seeded from previous decades competitions, the Scottish side is the same but in reverse previous decades of great players but bad compitions have seen our seedling slip resulting in we're always in 4th pot etc, everton have recently been linked with the Wigan lad Hugo rodeuagga and working in skelmersdale and have mates who are Wigan fans they say he is poor, this guy wants 70000 a week,he scored 2 goals last year, compare this to Gary hooper who scored 26 goals in 37 games and is on 4 thousand a week,it comes down to quality yes,I agree with you on some points, but who is being shrew with there money, getting value for money, when you look at the impression Jelavic has made in epl and hooper has a better record and prob better player it goes back to the blinkered few of the Scottish game...toffee bhoy..gujo

Agree0 Disagree0

I honestly found that so hard to follow i am having difficulty in replying. I'll try like, first off the England team isn't great but not one single scottish player would get anywhere near the squad, i will refer to team GB as reference for this. The fact England never perform on the big stage is something i cannot explain but there a lot of very gifted players in it. Seedings come from a points system over the course of a calendar year mate, scotland are in pot 4 as they hardly ever win, look were Brazil are now 11th, should they be there of course not it's due to the fact they haven't played in a group to qualify for the world cup as they host it. There is no conspiracy your just not good enough to be out of that pot.

The point i made though was that the leagues are better for foreigners and so are the individual teams and by extension the native players get to play and learn off better players. I do stand by the point it is down to coaching that there aren't as many native players at that standard, the FA has sort to address that with new directives including no more 11 a side and smaller pitches for kids so hopefully better technical players in the future will come through naturally rather than trying to remould older players.

I don't really get the point you are making about Hooper and Jelavic, sorry i tried but i cannot get it. I would say though i doubt very much he is "only" on 4k a week.

Why is everyone up for selling Rodwell ok he has had a bad time with injuries for someone so young but I believe he is going to be class best position not sure yet but has real composure on the ball which very few English players have has proved at international level for many years and if you look at the next generation of England players Rodwell is going to be part of the furniture along side Jack Whiltshire I firmly believe he has the ability to burst forward with the ball you always feel he has more gears to use I think he could well become a Gerrard type player he needs to be more aggressive in dictating the play, how much is he worth? On today's market probably 12-15 million due to injuries stopping his progression but if he can have an injury free season and realise his potential you will have to double that fee. Keep him he is like a new signing and moyes believes in him {Ed025's Note - good post that fella..
