Our goal difference could start to be an issue for us

Man city - 36
Chelsea - 21
Arsenal - 21
Liverpool - 25
Everton - 15

Hopefully we can find an additional striker to bolster our strike force.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Its fine by me.for years we have had anywhere between +2 to +5 at end of season.its points we need to keep getting.the goals will follow.

I saw the Stoke match today. What interested me me were 2 oberservations. (1) Skrtel gets away with balant shirt pulling and what can only be described as a brawl on the goalline with a stoke player. Commenters stated that this was a constant in that particular players style of play and were calling for a penalty. (2) Simulation to be awarded a penalty. With the derby coming up, I am certain RM will be mindful of the deceit that has crept into the EPL and remind players to stay BIG and on their feet

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He did the same against Cardiff they should of had three penalties once again I state about the officials in the league.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hear hear Skrtel's being doing this all season. It's been noted in live games and yet he's still getting away with it as we saw again this evening.

2 more games with controversial decisions from officials and some pathetic mistakes from "premier league players" all in front of the razamataz of the ssn cameras its getting more like the WWE every week. How about tomorrow nights offering. Jose"the happy one" mourinho comin on the pitch at half time to challenge Wegner and his troops to a once off winner takes all match for the title!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I have always stated that the premier league has the worst officals in Europe I think the fa need to seriously look into the matter.

Ed what's going on with mcgeady, I thought he signed a pre contract? Is he at our club now or is he coming in the summer

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - hes at the club now ben..

12 Jan 2014 17:18:12
Tbf the officials have a near impossible job these days when it concerns the offside rule, the ball skims the Newcastle so maybe even justified, one thing I have always said is if your in the box and not interfering with play you shouldn't be on the pitch

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The ball didn't skim the newcastle player.it clipped man city centre half on way through

Anyone else like to see Pienaar in the middle (behind the striker)? Think his lack of pace nowadays deters him from being as effective on the wings but his agility and guile would be perfect in that CAM role, especially with Barkley potentially out for a while.

Perhaps Mirallas on the left, McGeady on the right for them to cut in and allow the fullbacks more license to maraud forward? Just a thought!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Pienaar has never been blessed with pace.I would leave him on the left continuing his partenership with baines.Yes he could play the cam role but personally I prefer him on the left side.Hes got bags of skill and is very clever in the way he can draw the foul in dangerous areas. He has been coming in for some stick in certain areas which is a bit wrong imo.Even if he's having a bad game he never hides and always wants the ball and tries to make things happen, one thing about him is for a little fella he's as tough as they come.

Agree0 Disagree0

I like the idea, but I would bring Mirallas into the middle, quick feet and prefers to play central - it is where he played in Greece.

13 Jan 2014 11:23:24
as good as pienaar would be in the cam role, I would agree with sydMAC, that the cam role while barkley is out should be mirallas' with a free role to roam at defenses I think we may see the best of him there, mc geady will slot in nicely in right wing too (his typical position is on the wing) ossie to continue his part from off the bench to liven the game up if it becomes stale

ed do you think we will sign batshuayi, from what i'm hearing it sounds like were very vlose to getting him

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - we are certainly favourites at this time JK. but its far from certain mate..

12 Jan 2014 15:58:13
Danny Ings would be a great edition to the squad.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I've been saying the same recently Italia, this kid is something special. I just hope Roberto picks up the posts on this site.

{Ed025's Note - im a big as well davey..

Not really Everton banter, but did anyone see the Newcastle goal disallowed?
Linesman never flagged, no one blocking Hart's view, screamer into the top corner. ok 3 Newcastle players in offside positions, but not really interfering with play. What was the ref thinking? Other than Man City are now one of the big 4 so must disallow it.
Degsypulford

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - I completely agree degsy..

Officials should have to take part in post match interview like manager/players and they should also be able to be fined for blatant mistakes/bias,
If there only Sunday league on the park quality then that's where they should be.

Agree0 Disagree0

Terrible decision. Same as when Stirling fell over (did the referee have have a Liverpool post code). Mind you, even worse was Alan Parry's syncophantic commentary, evidently everyone one of the reds goals this afternoon was finishing of the highest order! according to that muppet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Alan Parry is a biased red nose pri*k.Perhaps Mark Hughes should complain about commentators who support liverpool commentating on a liverpool game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Biased is bad enough but I can't stand the ones that justify obvious diving and falling over because "he felt contact" winds me up so much

I'm loving watching the football now but am I alone in thinking some players aren't passing when they should? I've seen a few times, in different games, when, IMO, Mirallas and Coleman have gone for angled shots which miss when Lukaku has pulled off, unmarked, and all it appears to need is a low pass to feet results in a goal.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If they go in Dave, nobody argues. It's a good point and I agree that the players should know when to pass or shoot, but it's also nice to see our players having the confidence to have a go

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree TJ, I enjoy shots going in but my concern was 23 shots, 5 on target and 2 goals against Norwich. Better teams may not allow so many shots and passing may have resulted in at least the same number of shots and an increase in goals. I'm still loving the football, COYB!

Agree0 Disagree0

Mirallas is by far the biggest culpret, he clearly thinks a lot of his ability and himself and sometimes needs to luck at the bigger picture

Hi eds, jesus have I had some messing around trying to register. I was already registered from last year under the user name jimmy. Then I was told I had to register again when I was attempting to post.So I did which was fine and I replied to a couple of posts. The next time I logged in I was told my password was invalid so I got a new one to register again only to be told that the new password was invalid.I had to unregister to re register by changing my user name from jimmy to jimmy c, so I've been all around the houses just to register again after I was already registered.Have any of our other posters had trouble with this? or is it just me? Thanks eds.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - I can only apologise jimmy..

Tottenham head coach Tim Sherwood is unhappy with the attitude of some of his players and is ready to sell midfielder Etienne Capoue, 25. Would Everton try to get him? Any thoughts ed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - he's a very good player josh, but bobby has said he won't have disruptive players in the squad, and there have been no links mate..

12 Jan 2014 13:00:42
Bakayoko spotted in the Adelphi and when asked he see he was over to meet with Bobby to return and solve the striker crisis, and become a coach.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bakayoko?. I think I will go and find my boots from under the stairs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny how the teams travelled to Tenerife, would be odd to set up a meeting with no one here.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not THE ibrahima bakayoko? God save us all.

I really do hope & expect Roberto to prove me wrong, but I just can't get excited about the McGeady signing! I'll get that recipe for humble pie ready, just in case.

IR(&K)IT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I am like you toffee I've never really rated Mcgeady, but if bobby thinks he can fit into our team ethos and style of play that's good enough for me.One thing he needs to do by the looks of things yesterday is lose a few pounds, looks like he's quite partial to a doughnut or two.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jimmy, that's the first impression I had, he does look a bit portly but I'm thinking he must realise he can't just walk into the team, he'll therefore be working hard to improve and impress. Hopefully impress us he will.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not expecting much from him this season, if he does make a few appearances it will be a bonus.

The good thing about signing him now is that he has the rest of the season to fully integrate and pick up the style and what is expected of him

Agree0 Disagree0

I remember not so long ago when people on here were up in arms about signing Barry, and for paying so much for McCarthy! Let's hope he makes the same impact as those two! Is this the best Everton squad since the eighties?

Agree0 Disagree0

He has always looked like he's carrying a bit extra even at celtic which is worrying for a winger

Do you think we will see McGeady from 1st min vs. WBA?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think his fitness not so good (fat). He need time to work hard to get ready.

Agree0 Disagree0

Like Gerard D, Roberto won't release him until he is ready.
I think its more a case that no one is bigger than EFC and the team ethos amongst players is evident.
Bobby won't allow bad behaviour.

If we have a short term injury crises then surely Donovan would be a good option? Even if there is a fee?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We don't need any more wingers. Striker and cm.

Agree0 Disagree0

Donovan was a Moyes player mate, Martinez may not fancy him
