How did Rom miss that last night. 28 million pound striker should be eating those. Annoying to say the least.

to be fair imo he didn't do anything wrong, if you see the replay, he put it to the side, but keeper got his foot out somehow, I put that down to a top class save

Agree0 Disagree0

Disagree toffee if your happy we paid 28million for a striker who missed from 3yds out! The save was from a trailing leg off balance. He should be burying those all day long, he's been in the premiership long enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, now he want's out because our club isn't big enough for him! Do you think he wants out because of Mirrallas?? Who would buy him? EFC wouldn't get their money back on him! I would sell the Belgians and buy players who want to play for us.

Absolute joke that nothing happened to Ivanovic. Three man panel of former referee's didn't think he did anything untoward. What is the point of having these panel's. Must be blind. Not only did he he make a feeble attempt to butt him but also tried to bite him on his shoulder.Must have learnt this from his mate who play's for Barca. Mourinho a disgrace and should be fined big time.

What a joke! A 3 man panel of former ref's didn't think that Ivanovic's behaviour was not worthy of a dismissal? Why bother when you have tv replay's for all to see. Not only did he throw in a little headbutt but he tried to bite him as well. Obviously learnt this from his mate Suarez. He should of got his marching orders. Mourinho was a disgrace when interviewed and should be fined big time, and donate the money to charity.

This could only happen in football. Manager crap at his job, gets sacked and walks away with 10m payoff. Got to really feel for the guy, I mean how's he going to feed his family.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - we could have a whip round WB?..

12 Feb 2015 17:47:47
A total shambles, players played out of position, terrible substitutions, a manager who is losing the confidence of our fantastic fan base.
Everton supporters?
No, Manchester United fans comments of late and they're third!
My heart pumps purple pi*s for em!

what we have now is Mr.Bean, & his cosmic football, & until we get rid of him, nothing will change.
If Villa can get rid of Lambert, why? can't we get shut, or do we have to wait until we are in the bottom 3 & Billy wakes up & smells relegation?

As much as BK gets slated by fans, he is one of numerous people on our board (although he doesn't have as much cash as the others). This new tv deal is going to see a lot of knee jerk reactions to losing games, if only because the stakes have just gone through the roof.
Now some of the old boys on our board didn't become so rich by not being too frugal, if they sense they could lose astronomical amounts of money they will act accordingly, imo anyway. Luckily for RM, there seems to be enough teams worse than us to occupy the relegation places and I think that has bought him enough time to see out the season. That said, however, if we continue to stutter come next season, they will be forced to act. If only to save them missing out on such a windfall. I agree with you HH, RM does not seem to be up to the task and it is just a matter of time before he falls on his sword. It's just a waiting game!

An bring in who paul lambert

12 Feb 2015 20:26:26
haha that's one of the problems we would face if RM does get sacked, who would we realistically want? Not a great deal of managerial talent on the market. As for Lambert, I've never rated the man. He has been lucky to survive for the last couple of seasons

It looks like we have got the defence sorted, we now need to start playing to our only strikers' strengths, playing the ball down his sides for him to run onto instead of pumping the ball up to him to hold up as the the truth is his first touch is that poor he has now got the best second touch in the game. I would also give Naismith a rest as he looks like he is carrying an injury at the minute and play Barkley in the number 10 role because a winger he will never be!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - his first touch is so bad that the second touch is usually a header S1878....the rest i agree with mate..

Barkley played no.10 against Chelsea.he hardly tracked back and when he did it was jogging back, usually after he lost possession.the kid should be sprinting and busting a gut to stop their attack.

thats down to rm, telling him go on runs attack their goal, and it doesn't matter if you lose it!!. ross looks lost and confused the boy need guidance to develop, not tol;d go out and dnt worry if you lose the ball just run at their defence

and also kev and lennon, mcgeady, and rm still plays 1 winger wtf is going on, no game till thur so why is kev on the bench. I am sick to death of seeing this, now at the end of the day his job is to pick the team now can someone tell me why he is getting paid grands a week to do a job wrong, I never say this or make this statment but I know I can pick a more balanced team sheet than rm if kev is fit for bench he is fit to start.

rm is a joke to me

Agree0 Disagree0

If he played number 10 where was Naismith playing? I think you'll find he was playing left of a midfield 3 with Naismith playing 10 just behind Lukaku
But I agree with you toffee he needs discipline in his game at the moment he doesn't seem to know what he's meant to do

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you will find that naismith was left midfield.re-watch the match mate.if I'm wrong I'll hold my hands up and admit it,but we set up with naisy on the left, and from what I saw,he was there until Ross was subbed.

RM has his favourites they play rain or shine regardless of form or quality and wherever they can be fitted in, namely Barry & Naismith albeit Naismith has had a decent early season he is so out of form right now, Barry has not been in any good form all season!

and dare I point out that we have still only won 2 games all season in ALL competitions without Leon Osman? Stats don't lie!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Degsy, he's injured. Your point is only relevant if he's fit to play and not being selected. Get over it man.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2015 11:42:53
so get him fit and we win the league? yes degsy lad

Agree0 Disagree0

Degsy, as much of a good player osman has been for us,and a loyal servant, he ain't going to make any difference to our teams poor forward play.if he is so instrumental why have barca,Madrid and the like not snapped him up for 25mill years ago.to be fair,I'd like to see henen given a go on one of the wings.he is playing very well in the u21s at the moment.

Agree0 Disagree0

Biggest shock for me is that for all the Osman talk degsy spouts he hasn't once plugged his autobiography! How many of the games mentioned has Distan not played in that we haven't won ay degsy? Probably about the same which sort of makes your point well pointless because he is not the saviour either just as Osman isn't so please turn it in now it has become obsessive.

Agree0 Disagree0

If I remember right years back united tried to sign him don't quote me on that but I think its right

Agree0 Disagree0

Shakey.that was donny osmond Manchester United tried to sign for half time entertainment :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i can hear it now...degsy p..singing puppy love to his ossie poster.. :)

Ah but bluegray, the other side of is it that Osman has featured in about 11 games. We won 4, drew 6 and lost 1. In the other 19 we have only won 2. I understand that I have gone on about him this season and that's because I feel we functioned better with him. Distin featured in lots that we lost. I know he is not Messi. I just think he is underrated and people were writing him off too soon. The stats seem to show this too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Your clearly just a wind merchant degsy, I know the footballs boring but amusing yourself by saying he's the difference is just plain daft, he got a sympathy game 4 a few mins for England in his 30s, get over it

Agree0 Disagree0

Is your real name degsy osman are you Leon's dad? Would explain lol

Can you imagine if Jose (the biggest disgrace) managed Everton this season. He talks about his side being shafted by the league and referees, well where do we start with Everton. Just off the top of the head. Stoke 1, Manchester City 2, Newcastle 1, Chelsea and they are just the red cards. Penalties missed, penalties given against us. Jose you know what you can do with yourself, you arrogant disgraceful pathetic man.

There is no doubt in my mind that there is some type of contractual obligation to play Barry when he is available. No other reason for him playing so many full 90 minutes (has he been subed this season?) At his age

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i think bobby just likes what he does svenny..

There was a break after one of our attacks yesterday where Barry lost possession and Willian and another Chelsea player took the ball and just ran at our defenders from just inside their own half. Jags and co tried to slow them down by backing off and "showing them wide". By the time they reached our penalty area, Barry was 5 yards behind them. He is clearly unfit/too old/lost pace. We are fortunate he has not been sent off at least twice already this season. He is a liability.

once barry was booked, he was a red card waiting to happen, not to take him off, was disgraceful mismanagement. I know Maralis is the pantomime villain over the pen plus hinting he wants away, but, he is still an everton player, still on very good wages, and still ten times the player lenone is, so why the hell did he not start? Martinez could not organise a piss up in a brewery.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

12 Feb 2015 08:16:05
my own opinion is you can't start naismith and barkley together they both like to play in the middle so we should have super kev and lennon on either wing with naismith or barkley in the middle

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2015 08:31:37
I will tell you why he didn't start, because when he had the chance to put Coleman in for a clear run on goal he didn't, but chose to shoot from distance high and wide. He is nowhere near as good as you or he thinks he is. You only have to look at his countryman on the other side, always looking to set something up, that's class.

Looking ahead to the Europa League fixtures against YBB, there's surely little doubt that Barry will start both since he'll be rested (due to suspension!) for the Premier League matches against Leicester and Arsenal. There's no way imho that RM would not select him.
I'm also sure that McCarthy, Besic and Gibson will be rotated for these fixtures.
Baines will hopefully be fit and can be rotated with Oviedo and (if RM is brave enough!) Garbutt.
McGeady, if fit, is certain to be selected by RM for the Europa League fixtures - as he's been an RM favourite for these earlier in the season.
Kone ought to get a look-in also - I'd hope against Leicester at least - but the other forward positions are anyone's guess. With Lennon being cup-tied, Mirallas will get a chance - and maybe Atsu too if he's ready.
I imagine the first leg result against YBB - and therefore what we'll need in the second leg - will shape the selections for that and the Premier League fixtures.
Anything other than a victory against Leicester would be unacceptable in my view and would the final nail in this season's Premier League campaign. A resounding victory and a convincing performance are essential.

Ever the optimist Sid love it mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

I stand corrected re Barry's suspension. His first yellow card against Chelsea was his tenth of the season, which should have meant a two-match suspension. However, by getting a second yellow card - and therefore a red card - the first yellow card is no longer counted and he stays on nine for the season far. Perversely, he'll now only have a one-match suspension to serve for the red card. How bonkers a rule is that? I could imagine some players in similar situations being wise to that and deliberately getting a second yellow just to get the shorter suspension! That clearly wasn't in Barry's thinking tonight - surely? He still needs to avoid a tenth yellow card between now and mid-April in order to avoid a two-match suspension - unless he really does try the red card getout!
