we have some very good players who just can't do it at int level, any top 10 team would beat a team that has a population ov bristol. its shocking. really is

I don't think that quite makes sense, but I'll keep re-reading it to try and make it make sense.

He's saying that England has some very good players, they just can't cut it at international level, for some reason. Montenegro has the population of Bristol, any top 10 prem team would have beaten them.

Few points from first half for me

Wellbeck - liability, does he know what an overlap is, greediest player ever, we must have someone better than him to play in front of Baines

Lamps- great player and Chelsea legend, please retire from England team now, we go out to win a game and should not be playing him anymore

Townsend - wow, what a prospect, milner and Wallcott please get used to sitting on a bench because you will be sitting down from now on

Degsybluenose {Ed025's Note - good summary that degs..

1 thing I noticed is the amount of poor passing.and the front two spent large amounts of the game playing deep to get the ball.agree with the 1st post. Welbeck not a left midfielder, not enough quality for England

england have been a joke for a while, players who were not getting played for their clubs were being picked ahead of younger flair like players, young, milner, walcott, cleverley, johnson, walker and carrick are not good enough and the way hodgson plays in such a negative and un-exciting way makes me sick, if that dyke fella wants to help the england national team improve, before chasing the foreign players out of the prem please get a proper manager just not redknapp, don't want his whole ex tottenham team being the starting 11

Harry Redknapp: English kids not playing enough street football. I so agree. Growing up in Noctorum, we happy grouo of kids used to play street football with a tennis ball and using the Cul De Sac lamppost as the goal. Thinking about that now makes me think how we used to strike it so often, as I'm certain I could not now.

Later playing for the schools and later still the pub or work side, I am certain my eye for goal and tricks was simply improved by all those hours playing with a tennis ball!

Good memories brought back there mate, always played with tennis ball because no one could afford a new footie, imagine kids nowadays trying to dribble and strike a tennis ball, unfortunately you rarely see a gang of kids playing footie on the fields anymore, they are either on their game console or sitting under a subbie with their hood up smoking a spliff.

How times change and I am only a kid compared to our Ed (41), ha ha sorry Ed

So a kid that does devote himself to it has a good chance of making it!

wish I'd have had no competition when I was a kid - bloody everyone was playing it back then! :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Took me back to when I was a kid, I myself grew up playing footy with a tennis ball when no one had a footy to kick against a wall playin spot, I got the chance to play semi pro, but kids aren't allowed to kick a ball in the street any more, its classed as anti social and will get a behavior order for it witch is totally nuts.

I lived beside a big football field but we still played on the road, usin neighbours wall as goals, I think playin on the road was better, faster and harder to control bouncing ball, great days

Degsy - evocative images of an urban childhood, rounded off with a lovely joke at the expense of our beloved Ed.
