right here me out here and don't be going mental just because he had a good weekend, in the summer why not put a cheeky bid in for.
demba ba? in my opinion accomplished striker, knows where the net is and with the players chelsea may be interested in may be available under the radar, even if we do sign a better striker, why not have him just incase? be a great addition in my opinion

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - im not a big fan WB, he does know where the net is, but when it suits him, lazy for me mate..

It would be going down the same road we have this year with traore and Kone, not getting any younger and can't stay fit, don't let a cameo from someone who's been out of form or injured for the last year and half sway you

Agree0 Disagree0

He's not good enough. But there again Danny Ings?

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Mar 2014 21:15:11
daveboy, no offence, what is your obsession with ings? you seem to mention him a LOT, he's a decent striker don't get me wrong but nothing special

Agree0 Disagree0

But Swan he is. 24 goals to date and a lethal striker. He should get promoted with Burnley and then watch him closely next season. In January they'll be queuing up to buy him and we won't be able to afford him. Let's buy this summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Mar 2014 21:48:18
closely followed by ross mcormak, david nugent (lol) and jordan rhodes, had austin not been injured he would of scored more than ings, when burnley get promoted, he will not score more than 10 goals I guarantee you, he is nothing special just another striker doing well in the championship at the second best team, whereas the other strikers are in worse teams, so imagine if they were at burnley, ings wouldn't be getting a whisper, he's okay, no need to act like we are missing out on the bargain of the century (literally)

Agree0 Disagree0

Swan you're wrong. This lad has it (believe me) A natural striker in the mould of Jemaine Defoe or Tony Cottee if you like. If we don't steal a march on others he'll come back to bite us. How would you feel if the RS come in for him and he then scores 15 goals when Suarez is out again for this time biting someone's nose off?

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Mar 2014 22:11:30
jermaine defoe is overrated and tony cottee is an a hole, when luis lector suarez bites someones face off, sturridge will play upfront, when he gets injured again, fabio borini (who I rate) will step in, they ca have ings and let him waste at least 3 years of his career on the bench, he also cannot play on his own which is what we need, and like vydra (a point you seem unable to get), its okay sprinting through everyone in the championship, in the prem he cannot do it and thus has failed and ings over relies on his pace (believe me) so when he is being bullied by kompany, distin and vertonghen you will see, if he rips them to pieces (maybe less likely than him scoring 15 goals) I will come on and say sorry, until then, he is the new matej vydra, only english which automatically makes him overrated and he is in the championship where again charlie austin would be doing better, he will end up at stoke or sunderland, somewhere like that, he has no chance of joining a champions league team like liverpool or even a top six team

Right let's say we have abit of money in the summer here's who I'd bring in:

Barry - free
Colback - free

Deulofeu - loan

Batshuayi - 7mil
Arnautovic
Holtby
Weimann
Caulker

Don't no how much those 4 would be but I think we'd have enough and I know it looks a lot to bring in, but 2 of the 8 there are players already in the squad so the rest are just replacing players, Batshuayi to replace lukaku, Weimann to replace vellios, arnautovic to replace pienaar who I think personally shouldn't play next season along with osman who can be replaced by holtby and caulker would replace heitinga, people will disagree but I think it would be great if this happens or something similar.

Cutting edge is required next season and I'm hopeful we can get in Europe this season, even if some fans don't want it I do as it gives us a chance too see players in action who we wouldn't always see.

And of course those players I've chose are just personal choice of who I'd like, so what would you do with the money?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

10 Mar 2014 19:26:29
what would I do with the money? buy better players than that, aunatovic? weinmann? caulker?, we don't need caulker or aunatovic, we need a striker yes but not weinmann, he's tosh, i'd get barry and colback on frees, promote lundstram, kennedy, browning and mcaleny to the first team, buy batman and buy players that suite our play style, not hoof the ball football with aunatovic or miss citters weinmann

Agree0 Disagree0

Caulker is a good defender. Can play it out of defence and doesn't look like he's going to implode at the very thought of not having an option to hoof it up field. And if Cardiff go down he'll be available for a lot less than what they paid. He also ways in with a goal or two. I'd have him any day.

Agree0 Disagree0

Seen caulker the last few games and he hasn't impressed what so ever, il also be honest and say them targets are more realistic than most that come out, let's face it were not in for the top end of the market so time to be realistic

Agree0 Disagree0

Why don't we need caulker? Distin won't last forever and jagielka isn't getting any younger, we need a centre back and if you think he's not good enough you're nuts! And weimann is not 'tosh' he's.still young and would be a good back up for Batshuayi, and how is arnautovic a hoof the ball kind of player? He's a tricky winger, an would do well at a decent club, you clearly just judge players if you've seen them once on the tele. Last of all if you think we are going to progress by bringing 4 youngsters up to the first team squad you're deluded, we need to spend in the summer to keep progressing and to challenge for Europe

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Mar 2014 08:00:27
why did tottenham get rid of him? why didn't southampton or newcastle etc go for him? he does a job, not good enough, aunatovic is 6 foot 4 and plays for stoke, our centre backs will take one look at him and hoof it, I never said promote 4 youngsters and progress, I said promote them AND buy players who suite our play style, had you read my post properly you would of known that, I watch matches from different leagues on a daily basis, I think I have a decent enough opinion on whether certain players are good enough, i'm not claiming to be an expert, just don't go jumping to conclusions because I disagree, say batman gets injured, we have no goalscorer, we cannot waste money on strikers just to be back up, unless they score goals, weinmann has missed more citters than I can count, not good enough, we do not need caulker, stones, browning are ready and there are cheaper, and, well, better options out there

Agree0 Disagree0

Id have Martins Indi as a ready made replacement for Distin.same build, quick enoigh and left footed centre half with over 100 first team games for Feyenord.id have Barry and possibly colback, but maybe promote Lundstram. Batshuiy up front and maybe another attacking midfielder.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd agree dentie lad.

Agree0 Disagree0

Holtby could be a good signing for us. Anyone who judges him on his non spell at Tottenham obviously hasn't watched Shalke over the last 5 years. He is a good player who can play anywhere in midfield. He has bags of energy, keeps the ball and has an end product. Then there's the obvious passion for the club. If we could get him for a good price I think he would be a success for us. Your other targets though mate I'm not sure. Colback on a free would be good business, another versatile player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Guess you have seen a lot of schalke then what channel would tha be on again? He's a decent player but I wouldn't rave too much tho

Agree0 Disagree0

Any game in any major league is easily viewable mate. I like Schalke, also like Gladbach. But yeah I've seen a lot of Holtby to say he certainly isn't crap like a lot of people are saying. But obviously saying he might be a good signing is apparently calling him some amazing world beater and raving about him so you can't win really.

Agree0 Disagree0

It winds me up when poeple use words to justify a point for no reason, I'm sure he was only a regular for his last two seasons, plus he was on loan at some points so I doubt you have seen too much of him for schalke the last 5 years, also gladbach ha they haven't been good for donkeys years

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Yeah using words to justify a point is just SO last year.}

That is, like, SO unfair Oli. How dare you use words, of all things, to justify your point/opinion. What is he supposed to do mike - send you cosmic grooves? Maybe a letter? Oh no, they contain words. Erm, what do you propose mike?

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough only got myself to blame for that ed, but your know what I mean some people will try and back up a statement by just saying anything

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I was only teasing you the way you had worded it Mike.}

As opposed to you who backs up your opinions with no statement, no fact and no evidence. I just said he could be a good signing based on what I've seen of him. Bore off mate if you don't agree and have no argument to contradict, direct your anger in life elsewhere.

I like Martinez. I like the way he sends the team out to try and win a game instead of just not lose. I loved the way we went to old trafford this year confident that we could win the game instead of just trying to park the bus. I prefer Roberto over Moyes any day of the week.

However lately I feel we have been a bit tactically naive. We try to play too much football and are over doing it with too many passes and slow build up play meaning the opposition can get back in numbers and defend.

I have said before it takes us 20 passes to do what Man city, Chelsea and liverpool can do with 1. In the derby we were undone by typical smash and grab football, go a goal down chase the game, and the gaps at the back are exploited. And it was exactly the same story at Arsenal on Saturday.

At 2-1 down we were not playing badly and I felt the lads we had on the pitch were capable of getting an equaliser, no real need to change things so drastically, but we went gung ho and got caught out .yet again!

Mirallas and Lukaku need to realise we win and lose as a team and it's not just about personal glory. I also think it would not do us any harm to try the long ball occasionally and do a bit of smash and grab ourselves.

10 Mar 2014 19:28:31
try the long ball occasionally? that's all we do when jags, distin or howard get the ball!, we've played more long balls to lukaku than nice passing movement

Agree0 Disagree0

It's all linked to confidence I think when we're confident like earlier in the season the team just play naturally without thinking about it, but because we're not the most confidant at the moment too many players are thinking too much instead of playing quick one touch football. Confidence will come back though with a few good wins under our belt.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - fair point that mike..

Mike you are right but with Jags back for the run-in we will have that consistency. There's some winnable games on the horizon. Let's go for it. Spurs are inconsistent and Utd? Well let's just rub his nose in it.

Evening lads! Not been on here for a little while so forgive me if I'm covering ground already covered. Just a couple of points I wanted to make. The first is how Arteta has gone down in my opinion. Scored what proved to be a decisive second and having scored it, running round like he's won the League, clutching the Arsenal badge. Very disappointing. My other point is a slight question of Bobby's team selection. I appreciate that he's selected Joel for the cup games so far but with a rookie CB in Stones, I felt Howard should have played. Whenever Tim is in goal, the whole back line seems reassured that if they put a foot wrong, he'll be there to clear up. With Joel, the whole defence looks nervous, a bit like when we had Wright or Turner in between the sticks. Why does Joel have to punch everything? If you can get two hands on it to punch it, why not catch it? Just my thoughts.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Was gutted when I heard he was paying and both the players mentioned we petrified all game, arguably are most important game, play your best team I say, never seen us so stand offish when they were attacking meaning they got so many crosses in the box

Agree0 Disagree0

Guys totally right. Roberto f****d it up. We have to learn from this though.

Ed is it true we will bid for lukaku 20 million in summer and we've enquired about Vito monnone and is their any more targets

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - we will make bid for lukaku adam, how much is pure speculation, other names will be bandied about though, im expecting about 100 being mentioned mate!, only bill and bobby know the real targets, but its nice to speculate..

Ed, i'm still slightly heart broken after yesterdays defeat. Please give us something to be looking forward to with regards to the transfer window. How much do we have to spend? Who are we looking at, and what deals could be goers? I know its still really early, and you probably have no idea who we're targeting, but some good news would be appreciated. I am so upset right now, all I want to do is eat ice cream and watch chick flicks. and i'm a dude :(

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - only slightly heart broken QB?...im devastated mate, i really believed this was our year!, we will have a decent war chest for next season but how much is a bone of contention, we will be looking to strengthen in midfield and attack, which i believe we are desperate for, the football is great, but there has to be an end product, so lay off the hagen daz and an officer and a gentleman!...get a grip man!.. :)

Haha cheers ed. I needed that. To be fair though, it was Ben and Jerrys. :P Just looking forward to the transfer window now.

Hey lads nothing to do with Everton but thought I'd share a funny story.

A mate of mine was talking up Chelsea (you know how it is all there players are best in Europe and so on) so sarcastically I say "let me guess Torres is also the top striker in the prem" to which he replies by telling me " well he is just out of form" and "Chelsea are looking to unload him with 'a number of top clubs interested' and his price will be around 30 mil"

I couldn't stop laughing . Still giggling a bit haha.
