Hmm not sure on that one yes give him granted he got rangers into europe league final like i would go all out for Rubin almiron from sporting that's of course if he would be interested and if not potter would also be good shout and me 3rd option would be fonseca but think whoever does take the reins we all have to get behind the new manager regardless of who it is.

How can anyone want carsley as Everton manager, are you insane, we've been down this track before and it failed, it's not just I we will have him or him or even him, they need to see what he will bring, what he's achieved and for how long, tone can have a good season but can they do it year after year, carsly brings what, oh yes he played for Everton, give me strength.

Can Bronckhurst has 57% win record as manager, that’s a lot higher than what we currently have, all be it in lesser leagues. There’s been rumours of Mourinho too…can’t see it personally as he fell out with Friedkin when sacked at saying many nasty things…although strangely I think he could be a good fit for us!

This new mob if they get it done, have already sacked Fonseca and Jose. Not sure they'll be on any list. When have we done a Carsley appointment before? I'm not endorsing him by the way but I'm intrigued to hear you enlighten me.
What has Potter done over anyone else in the rumour hat?
We seem to acknowledge the trick lots of clubs do in unearthing new talented managers with envy yet robustly dismiss anyone who hasn't the world class CV and the ones who do have a CV far more impressive than our entire PL history are also dismissed as not good enough. They'll all have the same problem, they'll need to polish turds and please us. I'm pretty sure we were once a club that was an innovator and not a impersonator.

Some of you guys either have short memories or are too young but didn't one of our former players become one of our best managers with more trophies than any of the so called big shot managers of late? Howard Kendall is his name. I don't know if Carsley is the answer but rather have him than Fonseca or Jose. We need a young manager with passion for the club, one who has up to date coaching skills and one who has knowledge of the young players around the leagues who we could recruit for reasonable cost. Unfortunately non of us will do the picking so we could well end up with another costly has-been.

Both valid points Blue mike and Shropshire Blue, but the game and world has vastly changed over the 30+ years when the majority of players, managers and owners were British Born and in a lot of cases local, all of which I preferred but the money and global coverage has taken away the values of clubs and football in general we all know this.

I don't think that is something he will go for BR as then he will miss out on money. I also think that by the time summer comes around, less and less will be in for him as he will continue to show that he is a very limited player. A one-trick pony some might say and not a very useful trick in the modern game.
Get him gone. He hasn't shown any commitment to us, especially after we have continued to back him during his barren spells.
Get somebody new in for me. Send him to Sheffield Utd. That is about his level.

Agree GB.
People can choose to keep making excuses for the lad e. g. not the right manager, style of play etc. The truth is that we should not be recruiting a manager or adopting a style of play to suit one player and as I say, a very limited player at that.
He has had 2 good seasons where he made double figures. The other 6 seasons he has got nowhere near, with his highest attempt being 7 goals - but I guess that is the managers faults hey.
The most overrated Everton player I have ever seen.

I've never been a massive DCL fan but I think a 2 year deal with a release clause of X amount and then sell him after a year. He's still got to be worth £35m in today's market. More than likely we won't have any money to spend again next season so it's better than nothing.

I just don’t get the DCL hate. We have only had one decent manager since Moyes and he managed to get a a tune out of him! We have a lot worse players than dom who I would show the door first. Why does having the opinion that he is overrated and not a very good striker labelled as hate?
We do have a lot worse players you are right but they need to go as well. I guess the difference is, is that they aren't given excuse after excuse and cleared of any accountability of failing to deliver.
How you have just described Broja sounds identical to DCL after his Carlo season.

Difference is blue nose dom at least did it for a season. I’m not saying pay him whatever he wants, just if wages are reasonable he should stay. We can and have done worse striker wise in our recent history aside from rom and loads used to give him stick. What I would do for him now! Everyone seems to want to give Beto and broja a chance but in the times they have played, whether it be for us or others they miss just as many if not more easy chances. Broja was playing in a much better team than ours at Chelsea and they deemed him not good enough based on lack of goals so what’s suggests that will change with us?

1 season out of 8 does not warrant getting paid over 100k a week for me mate. His record proves to me that he will miss more than he scores. No doubt he is great in the air but we don't provide him decent crosses to attack and also the game has quickly moved further away from that type of gameplan now.
Absolutely we can do worse than Dom but we can also do a lot better imo. It is always a gamble getting a striker in, after all it is the hardest thing to do in the game.
Beto has been handled poorly and now may be damaged goods forever. He was a quality forward for Udinese. The worst thing that could have happened to him is Dom finding his fitness for the first time in a long time. His bit-part spells and last 5 minutes of games decimated his confidence and he doesn't seem to have that capability to rediscover it. Just one of those ones that hasn't worked out.
Broja, I shouldn't really judge as he hasn't but on a blue shirt yet but from what I have seen, I was never chomping at the bit to get him in whenever we were linked.

Let him go then. We haven’t had the value out of him we should’ve over the last few seasons. Misses too many chances but admittedly is excellent holding up the ball.
I’d like him to stay but I won’t miss him either. He clearly wants to try pastures new. It’s the game, it happens to all clubs and there’s little else we can do about it.

Henrique Carmo from Sao Paulo the latest to be linked.
Know nothing about the kid but had a little watch of him. He has brilliant feet and ball control. Perhaps most surprising, especially as he is a winger, is his intelligence to play the ball and find the right option rather than hold onto it.
Would much rather be linked to the likes of this lad and Minteh than some bang average wingers we have been in recent windows. This new approach certainly looks a lot better.

We spent about 45m and made about 80m. Onana was on about 120k a week in wages.
We will have flexibility to spend in January, especially with us moving into the new stadium next season which will increase turnover. Hopefully Dom's wages will be gone and we get rid of Keane and Doucoure's too
If Friedkin is in by Jan, then we will spend. He did the same at Roma and they were in a pickle financially too. He is not going to do anything to jeopardise us as he seems an astute businessman.
We are the lowest spenders in the league for the last 5 seasons. I think Big Al even said we will spend in January and I trust what he posts tbf. He is usually spot on and doesn't butter the fans up with what they want to hear.

Well I believe that a number of things have to happen before we have a new manager. The takeover has to be completed. The potential new Manager has to want to manage Everton. Whoever the new owner wants has to be available. It may also depend on what results we get before the takeover is complete, if SD wins all of the games (unlikely) then he may hang on until the season ends.
One possibility is that Moshiri will agree to a management change before the takeover is complete. Not sure about the legalities of that happening.
{Ed002's Note - Obviously there is no legal issue if anything were to happen to the manager before the take over is completed.}

If by the end of the takeover Dyche has them playing and in a better position in the league (hopefully) . Then it would make sense to leave him in charge to the end of the season. Now i'm no Dyche fan, but changing halfway through the season with a manager who has a different style could be dangerous. So if things are going ok then leave him there.
Why? Because this would give the club time to get the next manager right. It would give the new man time to discuss targets and look at what he already has. And don't forget Dyche's contract runs out in the summer.
So new season, new ground, new owner, hopefully new start.

Yes I agree BB but if we continue to lose games because SD insists on playing Young and Keane and making stupid substitutions that lead to losing points from a winning position then something will have to be done sooner. Maybe even the end of this year maybe too late. Still not sure what the options are for changing manager before the takeover is completed. Can't see Moshiri doing anything so we can only hope that the results start improving so no action is required. What's so galling is that we could have seven points instead of one with better management of the games played.

Suggestion now that Freidkin has his eye on Carley as a possible contender. Would be an interesting option.
