Rafa or any manager can not do anything with this squad, it is no where good enough or big enough. I may be naive when its comes to the roll of director of football but what has Brands done to justify his job apart from sign garbage and dismantle the squad.

spikey74

{Ed0666's Note - exactly what he said. Eds 025 said something similar in the podcast yesterday

1.) 23 Oct 2021 18:29:50
Destroyed in midfield with 2 in there. Doucoure does the work of 1.5 men and we still lose every game on possession. No sure what everyone expected from today but as soon as I saw a 2 man midfield it was always going to be a spanking.

2.) 23 Oct 2021 18:39:51
Good post spikey mate.

3.) 23 Oct 2021 18:50:45
Sadly have to agree mate. Remember though Rafa did say this was an easy match?

4.) 23 Oct 2021 19:31:07
Came with a big reputation of building from ground up. Rafa took the job knowing the problems. Ancelloti took the job for 11 million a year and the promise of a kitty, didn't give a toss about the Club.

5.) 23 Oct 2021 19:34:28
Raffa, Moyes, men of a cloth. Had a good chat with Moyes 18 months ago, in my view Rafa every bit a proffessional.

6.) 23 Oct 2021 19:44:17
Josh King…enough said!

7.) 23 Oct 2021 20:59:42
Kings best two games at Goodison have been for opposition: (.

{Ed025's Note - dead right cookie, mind you he wont come up against the likes of godfrey every week mate..

The trouble with big name signings at a club like ours is that see us a small club and use us a payday or stepping stone, that goes for players and staff.
We achieved all the good wins with hard working and dedicated staff and at the moment we don't have anything near that anymore.
Trying to buy your way to glory does not work for most clubs, earn it through hard work, determination and passion.
This is only my opinion and thoughts .

Hey spikey74 so this doesn't apply to Chelsea and Man City over the last 15-20 years? Umpteen league's Fa cups, league cups Chelsea 2 European Cups. and they are coincidentally dominating the women's league as well. YES MONEY BUYS SUCCESS BIG MANAGERS BIG STAR PLAYERS! YES MONEY BUYS SUCCESS WHEN YOU GOT MULTI BILLIONS IN THE BANK. NOT A BILLION! MULTI BILLIONS CHELSEA 15 BILLION. MAN CITY 585 BILLION. THESE ARE MINNOW CLUBS TO ME AND ALWAYS WILL BE. we are a minnow club in the media's eyes, we have swapped places with Chelsea and Man city.

2.) 02 Jun 2021 19:47:34
Where have you been the last 15 years or so? Chelsea 8 FA cups and 3 premier League titles 2 European Cups and also Man City.4 Premier league's, umpteen Fa cups and league cups and you saying you can't buy success It's taken over a hundred years for EFC to build their history. and you get the likes of these MINNOW CLUBS buying their history. no one can live with them two. is it any coincidence that they are also dominating the woman's game as well?

It has to stop. this means there are clubs us included who will never see a trophy again. massive money has ruined it for everyone other than these two minnow clubs. I would like to see Pep Gladioli do something with say a West Brom or Sheff United. gets me mad thinking about it. being an everton supporter puts years on you . I honestly believe the club is cursed. Sunderland and Newcastle are the same no amount of money or manager can do anything.

Does anyone else think we should give Kenny a chance to prove himself, seems daft to me spending money on a RB when he hasn't been given a chance, especially when we are so weak in other areas.

spikey74

1.) 27 Aug 2020 10:38:52
Personally everything we have shoukd go on sorting RW and centre mids.
We coukd get through the season with Coleman and Kenny and we could get throigh th season with mina, Keane, Holgate, Braithwaite and even Gibson, having a decent DM will take pressure of the defence anyway.
We don't strengthen that midfield we are in for a long season mate.

2.) 27 Aug 2020 11:31:42
Schalke had an awful season and JJK was one of the brighter lights. But he was far from the top of the Bundesliga performers in his position. Wagner seems a nice guy but possibly not cut out for top flight footy?
If the snippets from the press are true, Reading between lines it appears that yet again, the EFC management don't have the faith in JJK. It seems some fans would have no problem having a starting line up that 5 plus managers all disagree with. Some call for JJK at rb, Bolasie on Lw, Moist up top, Besic in the middle, steck in goal, Benignme blah blah blah. The truth is they're not selected because their not good enough. They struggle for loans cos? Not good enough. It's frustrating on the pitch and has been since Brown shoes 1st season. But for some non football people to rant about player who should be playing is tedious. Get over it.

3.) 27 Aug 2020 12:26:20
Listening to the press saying that the management don't have any faith in JJK is an interesting take on things. Mind you there have been press reports that link us to a GK RB LB CB DCM CM RW LW CAM and S. I wonder which one of or current players will keep his position? Doh it will be Gylfi 5 mangers can't be wrong. I take press reports with a pinch of salt if JJK is good enough he will play if not then he won't CA will make the decision on that.

4.) 28 Aug 2020 08:15:00
Totally agree that we should prioritise mid and rw, with back up for gk and up front coming next (prob loans) . Give jjk a chance and stop writing off Gbamin and Delph. Latter does have quality, its just his fitness but 20-30 games will do and who knows what Gbamin can bring. These pair plus jjk would be like new signings and the improvement of Holgate/ DCL is there for all to see. We'll sign a cpl of players but I'd rather wait and be sure than panic and sign even more mistakes. For all you doom mongers, don't forget that 90% of teams are in the same position as us and won't be sending much. Jim White may as well book TDD off :)

Looks like we are getting a Portuguese manager who is not regarded that highly with a CV that doesn't live up to expectations, DEJA VU.
Moshiri needs to stop taking advice from Liverpool supporters.

spikey74

1.) 10 Dec 2019 11:12:28
Spikey, this is why I am hoping for an Interim, so as to give this 'impetuous' board breathing space mate.

2.) 10 Dec 2019 12:05:26
Not so much the board but Mr Moshri trusts his advisors despite on the surface at least mistake after mistake. Compounded now by the 'good' Managers looking at us and thinking, no thank you.

3.) 10 Dec 2019 12:13:14
Exactly, just reeks of desperation trying to get this guy in before Sunday.

4.) 10 Dec 2019 12:39:26
Spikes, ''Sunday'' bloody hell that's what I call ''desperation'' Mate 😟.

5.) 10 Dec 2019 14:43:50
Here we go again. People slating a manager we haven't got yet. They will slate everyone of them if its not their choice and even if it is they'll be on here moaning if he doesn't win his first 3 games.

6.) 10 Dec 2019 15:43:31
Ricktee, you have come to the wrong place if you want 'everyone' to think like you mate. I believe it's called having an opinion, or something like that.

7.) 10 Dec 2019 17:41:27
Ricktee some of us want the best for our club, translate the moto.
Always the same with some on here, if you don't agree with them then you are not allowed to post.

05 Jan 2019 18:58:25
Their goal was crap, surely it was Pickfords fault the header was far to close to goal line for keeper not to claim or punch.

spikey74

{Ed025's Note - you forgot the word "again" spikey..

1.) 05 Jan 2019 19:10:38
We have two CB's there, one of which is a big lump that we paid a lot of money for, and for their goal he did not even get to the first rung on the ladder. 40 odd mill is a lot of money for the one goal he has scored compared with the errors he makes. We have a go at Keane and jeez the amount of errors he makes (Leicester) , so says a lot when our two best CB's are Zouma and Keane.

2.) 05 Jan 2019 20:31:44
getting really worried about the club now. Today proved the following are simply not good enough or care enough about our club. Kenny, Keane, Davis, Pickford, Lookman, Calvert Lewin, Sigurdson Tosun, Schneiderlin, Niasse not including the crap that's out on loan mirrallas, Sandro we are a disgrace.

3.) 05 Jan 2019 21:00:38
Like you say Mate they don't play as a team. they need time but how much time do you give them.

4.) 05 Jan 2019 21:47:57
You two don't think Lookman cared or good enough! Are you serious. And I thought I was the miserable whatsit! Bet you boo at full time as well. Look they are not playing well nor as a team but they scraped through, it may be the catalyst.

{Ed025's Note - i remember oxford DFS..

5.) 06 Jan 2019 00:55:49
Lol yes I remember Oxford to but this is a different age and those days when a team outside the top six won the cup are long gone, ok Wigan was the exeption and it cost them there place in the Premier league, where are they now?

6.) 06 Jan 2019 01:44:07
Add to that ucd in the cup winners cup, big difference in those Days, you only had one sub and very rare we made changes to our regular 11, probs why we got to 4 cup finals in 6 years, we played our strongest 11 and respected the f a cup, too many changes these Days.

We now play on perfect football pitches, fitness and eating habits are at a premium, there is no excuse not to play your strongest 11, baring in mind, you can also use 3 subs

Fair enough those teams still in Europe making a couple of changes, but we should be putting out our regular 11 starters no mater who the opposition is.

Season after season we make 5 to 6 changes for the cups.

It is time we put out our strongest 11, if we get a sizeable lead then give some a run out with 20 mins remaining, but let’s get the job done first.

7.) 06 Jan 2019 10:38:50
Thing is bignev, it just seems to me he either doesn't know his strongest team still or reads pages such as these. When no 1 daughter progressed to higher levels, she once said to me they (team/ workforce) don't like me and some are supposed to be my friends. Anyone guess my answer.

Well said, Moyes should not come back, but slagging him off for over achieving and having a tactically well organised, passionate and hard working side is wrong. Moyes is by far a better manager than the stubborn buffoon in charge now. Still using zonal marking and tactically clueless, still must give him more time to keep his fans happy what a fraud.

Least Bolasie looks like he would give 100% and fight for his place unlike most of our squad last year. I would rather have a player who will give a 100% than players like Walcott, Iwobi and Siggy.
