Word in Barcelona is that if Pedro goes to Man U or wherever Barca will buy Nolito as back up to the front three I.e. mostly as a bench player so don't expect to see him at Goodison, unfortunately

According to the local daily sports paper here in Barcelona, which is not usually wrong about Bara matters, Rafinha (Thiago Alcntara's brother) is about to join Celta Vigo on loan, even though Thiago's transfer to MU is expected to go through soon. So no joy there for the Blues.

Stef, right now the word in Barcelona is that Barça are unlikely to go for him in January, largely because he would be asking for big wages and they are very close to the UEFA recommended limit of maximum 70% of income on players' wages. A much more likely (and cheaper) signing is another excellent player who we all know, Nolito from Celta. So if this is true it might improve our chances of Yarmolenko - though he certainly doesn't seem to be super-keen to join us.

Just to add a bit to what Zackiii reported above: Sport (daily Barcelona sports paper) says it's a 3-year deal with a 4th year optional, and yes, we pay 6m euros upfront. Barca can buy him back for 9m euros after 1st season or for 12m after 2nd season. Looks like a really good deal to me if we can get him to produce the goods with any consistency.

Hazza and fellow-Blues: according to today's El Mundo Deportivo in Barcelona, Deulofeu has a straight choice between us and Spurs; Barca want him to play in a really competitive league, and the player will decide when he returns from the under-20 tournament in Turkey. I think Martinez being manager might be a point in our favour. Fingers crossed because he's a s***-hot player, just has to learn not to dribble quite so much and be a bit more direct

RIB, no, there's no buy-back option and the press in Barcelona are giving Barça a load of stick because of it! So let's sit back and enjoy watching him.

In any case AL, don't rely on the escalators for Top Balcony 100%, they were out of order on Saturday and that makes 3 games out of 4 this season that everyone has had to hike up and down - club need to sort that out quick. Bluegray's advice is good. Anyway, good luck, mate.

Swan, for me, your dad is not exaggerating, certainly the best goalkeeper I've ever seen on any kind of regular basis, he dominated his area and made incredible saves so often that it just became the norm, it was what was expected of him.

I think the best save I've seen in my life was one he made at Sheffield Wednesday, end of 84-85 season, when we were gunning for the league and they were fighting desperately to stay up. We weren't playing at all well and coming under a lot of pressure second half. I was standing right behind our goal - a cross came in and ex-Red Jack Whitham connected with a point-blank bullet header - shoot, 1-0, we all thought, but just as we were expecting the net to bulge, Nev not only got down low to his right but clawed the ball round the post, right in front of thousands of disbelieving Blues. How could he have saved that? But of course he did and we went on to steal a vital 1-0 win. Any other older Blues out there remember that save?

So, Big Nev, the greatest ever. It was only a poor Welsh team and our European ban in 1985 that prevented him from achieving the international recognition he deserved.

Reckon it's Mike Bernard, plays full back but right, not left -though would certainly add weight to the defence lol. Older Blues will know what I'm on about.

Yes, toffee, agree, I've been hoping for weeks that we might go for him, reckon he is just what we need, cover for cb and rb and if he's available for 3-4m, would be an absolute steal. Go on Roberto, give us a last-day present!
