Hi eds any info with regards to lookman see the mirror are saying the club are going to talk to him but he wants to leave is it just lazy journalism or have some truth?
Personally I could understand after last season if lookman wants out but I'd hope he would give Silva a chance but if lookman has made his mind up I suppose that's it.

James2134

{Ed025's Note - ademola is looking for assurances regarding playing time james, but he is not going to sit on the bench every week and get overlooked when its obvious other clubs would love his services mate, lets hope the talks go well..

1.) 26 Jun 2018 22:20:19
Cheers ed wasn't sure from the article if he had made his mind up and the damage was done.
That's the best in the circumstances we as fans can hope for at the end of the day it's clear he's a young and ambitions player who certainly looks to have the ability and to be honest it's refreshing that he wants to play hopefully Marco and marcel can convince him to give us a shot and hopefully we will reap the rewards.

{Ed025's Note - i think we all want that james mate..

2.) 27 Jun 2018 08:20:00
From the get-go, my impression of Ademola Lookman was that he’s ambitious (perhaps impatient) to reach the top.
I had little doubt that if he did well for us then he’d eventually move onto one of the “elite” Champions League clubs.
What I didn’t expect is that it might happen so soon (perhaps to a non-elite club! ) before he’s had an opportunity to deliver consistently for us.
In my humble opinion, this situation will set the tone for the Brands/ Silva regime: will we really give talented youngsters a genuine chance to thrive OR will we continue our well-worn path of wasting (eventually losing) our young talent?

3.) 27 Jun 2018 10:46:25
What were the reasons for the thumbs-down?

25 Jun 2018 13:53:25
Hi eds don't know if u can clear something up for me I'm seeing that according to daily mail Rooney will complete his move tonight on a free.
What I'm not sure on is that I seem to remember reading in the first case that it was for 13 mil but ed 2 said we would be likely paying around 75k of his wages if it's now going to be a 'free' would there still be the requirement for Everton to subsidise Rooney wages?

James2134

{Ed002's Note - Yes, unless they can negotiate another solution.}

1.) 25 Jun 2018 16:11:07
Cheers ed I was hoping the no fee was to remove that I suppose it just is further proof of the messy and chaotic situation we have managed to create at the club from the top down.
Again I'm guessing a bit but I wouldn't be surprised if it will be a similar situation with Williams, schniederlin and bolasie coupled with the 2 departed managers that were still paying will be very interesting to see how much we are paying a week for people not at the club come next season
Thanks again for the reply and really good to see that u are again being involved with us on this page.

{Ed002's Note - Everton has cancelled his contract so he is free to move to DC United as and when their transfer window opens in three weeks or so. I really don't know if they have negotiated down the amount Everton will need to contribute to his wages at all.}

2.) 25 Jun 2018 17:16:58
Just a question ed. If we cancelled his contract why do we have any obligation to pay anything to his wages.

{Ed002's Note - What Everton has cancelled is the duration for the contract - they are obliged to pay him still if it is cancelled. The point is, has there been a negotiation to put aside any transfer fee against the wages, image rights etc.?}

3.) 25 Jun 2018 17:55:21
The only logic to this is that by cancelling his contract they have effectively allowed his next club to sign him without fee which would then be offset into the other financials involved, wages etc. The benefit to Everton is less of a financial burden than what they would currently have with him not having as much playing time compared to his first season.

{Ed002's Note - That may be the case, I don't know. In which case the money that would have been paid as a transfer fee to Everton would be paid to the player. We will see.}

4.) 25 Jun 2018 20:15:31
If the original figure of £13m was accurate then that’s about £250k a week. Why would we say there won’t be a fee but then still contribute towards wages? Surely he either signs for them for free and we contribute nothing or we take the transfer fee and pay him out the rest of his contract?

{Ed002's Note - No, it is not a one year contract. Everton a re not well placed in this matter and throwing around random figures won't help.}

5.) 25 Jun 2018 21:48:47
Thanks Ed. I really don’t understand how that works. It feels like owning a Mustang but not being able to afford to run it so you give it away for free but still have to put petrol in it because the person you gave it to can’t afford to either.

{Ed002's Note - Dreadful cars.}

6.) 25 Jun 2018 22:37:07
If he’s not going to play, we’re better off removing some, most or all of his salary from the wage bill. Speculating on the exact figures is pointless. Moshiri is unlikely to sanction a deal that does not better us financially. Confident we’ll have a more balanced squad come 11th August.

7.) 26 Jun 2018 10:02:19
Would we only be subsidising his wages for the first year?

8.) 26 Jun 2018 10:03:59
Does united have to pay a percentage of his wage when he was playing for us and if so would that migrate over to his dc United deal too?

21 Jun 2018 14:49:01
Hi eds just wondering if any of u could shed any light on what fees we may be looking to recoup for some of the players were looking to move on I've just seen a story on Middlesbrough looking at mori for 5 mil and it just struck me as being low in the current market and wondered if there was any ideas of valuations I have said we need to shift a lot of players out but unfortunately due to sky high wages and little value on the players were possibly looking to shift I wonder what we may get in
I know from ed 2 were still paying a fortune to sacked managers and I'm really struggling to see any taking Rooney, Williams, schniederlin, Sandro or even bolasie on anything like what there on now and I'm sure if they do move we will have to supplement wages.

James2134

{Ed002's Note - Schneiderlin is probably the most valuable but Everton have not given a value to Marseille. After making a very low bid for a Marseille player I would expect Marseille to offer less than the asking price. I don't know of any specific prices.}

1.) 21 Jun 2018 17:12:19
Ed 02 seen few Middlesbrough fans saying swap with him besic going other way plus cash for Gibson that seems way to complex as u never see swap deal any more specially two players for one.

{Ed002's Note - It happens but I am not aware of oit being suggested.}

2.) 21 Jun 2018 17:27:35
Thanks ed for info.

3.) 21 Jun 2018 18:19:20
Cheers ed I'm struggling to see how we will shift players without sacrificing some that we may not want to sell
It really shows how bad the advice the club has received has been but hopefully with the new structure we will see a much more measured approach to future business and we can turn things round and try to close the gap to the teams above us.

Nice to see that klassen has hit the ground running at bremen.

James2134

1.) 27 Jul 2018 20:18:26
Yeah 1 game and 1 goal. Just hope we don't regret letting him go. Struggled in premier league for us but quality player. Maybe more suited to other leagues than ours.

2.) 27 Jul 2018 20:36:46
Think so just seems like soda law we couldn't get anything from him in the league I imagine he will go 9n and have a great carrear and then onyreku keeps scoring and we can't get a work permit so typical Everton lol and it seems to have been that way for ages when u look at mustafi and dier and numerous others.

3.) 27 Jul 2018 20:58:52
We purchased No 10's without thought about Team/ Squad integration. We then brought in Rooney, biggest mistake we made, the guy in his short time took over the Team. Didn't mean to but also dominated the dressing room and training sessions. Klaasen is a class act, Siggurdson is a class act, Rooney was a class act, we also had Barkley absolute class. For me up to now nothing has been learned. First signing a left/ right/ central forward player. What we need is a confident central pairing at Centre Back. At this moment in time I am looking forward to the new structural era, but by God so far it (on the field of play) looks all so familiar.

4.) 27 Jul 2018 21:08:36
Agree with the above KTF, but one thing. Klassen imo was no ‘class act’. We bought him for 24mil, no one else was interested, RK had a look didn’t like what he saw and then dropped him, so did DU, SA and MS. If he was that good and ‘worshiped’ so much by Ajax they could have taken there prodigal son back for 12 mil yet decided to turn to Daly Blind instead! Horses for Courses’ and the Prem is not for him hence whilst he is now plying his trade at Weder Bremen. SPEAKS VOLUMES!

5.) 27 Jul 2018 21:45:08
Rooney was still our best outfield player last season so what does that tell you about others.

26 Jul 2018 20:17:39
Hi ed 2 thanks for the great info again just wondering on this Watford situation am I right in thinking we initially offered some amount of compo but then withdrew it as we had evidence of Watford tapping up Silva when he was at hull was this basically again dirty tactics from us and just an attempt to muddy the waters at the end of the day we have been caught with our fingers in the cookie jar and that's it we need to accept the consequences it seems that we haven't learnt it's not our first time doing this and people forget other clubs have been punished for it we just need to accept and move on hopefully sooner the better put the sorry affair behind us clean up our act and move on.

James2134

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of that being the case.}

1.) 26 Jul 2018 20:31:07
Cheers for the answer ed I've probably not remembered it correctly getting to that age lol.

2.) 26 Jul 2018 21:11:16
sums up how bad a club we really are and how badly run we have been for a long time the problem I have is that we are not moving forward on or off the pitch.

23 Jul 2018 21:19:09
A up eds is there a rumours fantasy league?

James2134

{Ed025's Note - there is usually james but i will check and get back to you mate..

Can't help but for some reason find this stat amusing
The last team to beat a martinez side in a competitive game were Sunderland
Managed by a certain Sam allardyce
Shows how strange football can be.

James2134

1.) 07 Jul 2018 20:15:09
A much maligned man Sam Allardyce yet in his one game in charge of England, every player played in his Club position and played to form. Our own Club were consistent under him, who knows what would have happened this coming season. We now have a proven successful knowledgeable DoF with top notch contacts teamed with a less than (so far) successful Premiership Coach. I always wish the best for my Team, I do however have reservations. Hopefully my pessmism will prove unfounded.

2.) 07 Jul 2018 20:53:51
Well if Sam was still in charge my season ticket money was going on renewing the bathroom. And yes consistently rubbish under him.

3.) 08 Jul 2018 07:44:32
We played total football under Allardyce.
Total pants football.

Well if the papers are to be believed it's a good job Silva is attack minded.
Tierney would be an excellent signing if we can get it over the line be interesting to see who we end up with in centre of defence for next season hopefully with pre season starting time to see some movement.

Pickford

Baines
Keane
Holgate
Coleman

Gueye
davies/ a n other

Lookman/ lozano (wish) / zaha (wish)
Siggy
Walcott

Tuson.

I see your point but in reality yes they can look at the abuse over the last few seasons that Barkley, Martina, schniederlin, bolasie, Keane, Williams, mirrallas etc have taken i would say that that's a list of players that have been singled out at various times for criticism from sections of the fans. Yes we have a right to voice concerns and our opinions but on the flip side if you are a player looking to sign for our club you would probably also take this into account.

I'm just wondering who these better players would be that we should be looking at and what the chances of us getting them at the minute would be
The reality is we really are not that attractive proposition multiple managers recently, multiple players treated poorly, multiple players signalled put for ridicule by vast sections of fans, no European football, unfortunately and I hate saying this bit not a particularly appealing location we can't just blow other teams out of the water with wages or transfer fees. I honestly think we need to feel in a bit and look at baby steps does he improve on what we have? If so then he's a yes he may not be a title winning centre half or even a top four centre half but we aren't as a club we need to build slowly it's easy to dismiss but 4 years ago who would have been happy with signing a non league striker (vardy) a unknown from lower French leagues (kante, mahrez) players like a wes Morgan yet they achieved the impossible baby steps and patience ate required.

Woburn that's kind of my feelings as well I'd certainly only entertain the idea if rlc and batshuyi were part of it I was even considering in my mind and even before I type it I know the stick it will get but hart is also available it's just balancing up which gives us the best chance of progression as a team yes pickford is better than any alternative we can get as gk but I can't help but feel with the state of the squad is he someone we can sacrifice to actually result in the overall first team being stronger it kind of reminds me when Rooney left for man Utd we had a poor season with him he was the star player he left but the team did better the season after.
