Ever since Moshiri and his millions have waltzed into Goodison we have had 5 managers and the team have gone from bad to worse - sick of hearing about projects / will take a few transfer windows etc.

We have spent in the region of nearly 300 million since Moshiri arrival and have gone backwards - especially considering what Moyes achieved on a shoe string budget.

You can blame the managers, the players but I think Moshiri has to shoulder blame also.

We as a club need to get back to the basics otherwise I see another manager leaving shortly.

A good question. Is Morishi the right man to lead us, or should he just put the money in and take a back seat? Is he an apprentice when it comes to running a football club? It might take a while for him to find his feet. I guess all chairmen had to learn and some the hard way. Hopefully the Jan transfer window might give us some hope. I still believe in Silva but some doubt is starting to creep in.

Talking rubbish above.

Uran, nickb57, For me it is the Chairman that is the problem, he is Everton through and through and loves em so much that in these latter years it is his heart rather than head come into play. Moshri can then perhaps bring in his own football people.

{Ed002's Note - Moshiri has a chum who gives advice to him about football. He advised on the coach and will advise on how to raise the profile of the club.}

4.) 19 Jan 2019 20:48:44
Nickb57, I mostly think along the same lines as Ed002 albeit bereft of his in depth knowledge.

5.) 19 Jan 2019 21:49:45
This chum is not doing a very good job.

6.) 19 Jan 2019 22:19:51
Hi ed02 does this chum have name mate if so can u tell us who it is or can't u legally divulge that to us.

{Ed002's Note - He has a name but there is little point explaining - I have explained before.}

I don't really blame the current setup for our demise - what i do see as the main reason why we are 10-15 years behind the top 6 is the lack of investment 15 years ago - BK kept us afloat but with no real investment hence we have fallen way behind - just imagine if Moyes had real investment what sort of position as a club we could have been in - teams like city, chelsea gained investment years ago and look at what they have achieved since - we on the other hand stagnated and we were one of the top 6 clubs 20 years ago but no investment has caused us to drop down and now we have investment we are trying to play catch up - millions upon millions of pounds spent and no further forward - its like we are trying to buy our way up the league quickly.

Yes the current manager has faults but so has Allardyce, Koeman etc - not sure where we go from here but I would suggest it will be another 5-10 years before we are competing with the top 4.

Watching the game I don't care how many people think we have improved the squad but we are poor - a million miles away from top 6 - yes a bit unlucky with the disallowed goal but the defending is shocking - Pickford needs a good talking too also.

Bring back Moyes LOL!

In another guise I asked what had Silva done to deserve all the accolades he gets, I also said along with others (getting some flack as well I may add) , that the bloke never seems to stay long in one place. Watford fell apart last Christmas and used us as the excuse, just remember that.

2.) 23 Dec 2018 17:55:31
Embarrassing to watch bring back Baines.

3.) 23 Dec 2018 18:49:31
so u domt rate dinge?

4.) 23 Dec 2018 19:21:16
13 goals in 5 games there's something wrong somewhere. I take it you don't rate Baines?

5.) 23 Dec 2018 19:21:25
Think the lad is a good player actually. Silva is for me a good coach and at the start of the season we played with no fear, perhaps we need to take a leaf from the so-called neanderthal books of Alardyce and employ a sports psychologist. Grasping at straws I know. Played a lot of football in my time, (pretty rubbish to be honest, but very very fit) but got my coaching badges LOL.

6.) 23 Dec 2018 19:17:52
I ate some humble pie a few months back and said silver had proven me wrong but it's starting to look like he is out of his depth and I was right to be worried about his appointment.

7.) 23 Dec 2018 19:25:19
Tactics issue today tried to go toe to toe with one of best attacks on there good day. Showed up how much we miss Gueye and how much Davies is off being top player. He can get there but miles away still. We could have scored 4 but they could have scored 10. Mind you better than being 3 nil down after 20minutes without trying to score like last year.

8.) 23 Dec 2018 19:31:23
i do rate baines but i dnt see what difference he would make as i think dinge is just as good if not better.

9.) 23 Dec 2018 21:17:19
Cookie I totally agree can’t go toe to toe yet with teams in the top 4. They are more clinical and shows we aren’t ready yet.
These teams are very good at taking chances and can’t be giving goals away in the premier league.

Its all to do with money in regards to Man United - NO champions league is a big hole in their finances as they have massive overheads etc - they won't make it this year unless there is a miracle.

Need to get this penalty taking situation sorted also - maybe someone can give some figures but how many penalties have we missed in the past 2 seasons - I know Rooney missed a few and Gylfi has missed a couple.

if you are talking about BK no complaints from me - saved us and brought great stability to the club - yes time to move on ( for BK that is ) perhaps but I personally feel he sought the wrong investment from the wrong person.

SA90 - I take your points - as you have mentioned the multiple managers does not help the situation but who is hiring / firing these - Moshiri.

yes he has invested millions of pounds but with this he is swapping managers left right and centre - why - looking for instant success IMHO which we all want but it seems Moshiri wants it straight away hence the managers being under pressure from day one.

BK brought us stability with no investment and had Moyes for 10 plus years - even tho we had some shockers with Moyes generally we were up there, year in year out.

Moshiri has brought his money and so far in 3 years we have had 5 managers and football which is poor - a large wage bill, too many players which are average etc

Its a game of opinions which is why I think this site is tops.

You make some valid points and the one area or time frame you mention is 3 years - this is roughly the time Moshiri has had his hands on the club - coincidence or not but not all investment is good.

We were one of the last clubs around that needed a new ground and some decent investment and who would be a safe bet to not get relegated so along comes the businesman Moshiri who sees us as easy pickings to make a decent profit once the ground is built and here lies the problem.

BK has blue blood but no money wheres Moshiri is the opposite - he has stated on numerous occasions that league positions is the most important factor for him hence the reason for splashing the cash, swapping managers on a regular business as a more succesful team is easier to flip. the man may have removed the debt - in the case of a interest free loan from himself which has no time frame to be paid back but he has us over the barrell so to speak.

I hope and pray we do not end up like a leeds or portsmouth as sooner or later Moshiri will decide to take his money elsewhere if performances etc do not improve and then where will we be?

for me Moshiri is the problem within the club.
