if we can get a couple decent midfielders that can score a few goals, then that would get us up the table a bit, dcl has got 13 and ricky got 12 then it goes all the way down to bernard with 3,dcl with 13 goals in his first real season ain't bad really. maybe an experienced striker to help him would be good (like a michael owen, dwight gayle type player to run on to his knock ons) right midfielder also needed, defence keane and holgate looks pretty good, get some dough for mina and get in someone who isn't always on the injury list.

1.) 14 Jul 2020 18:46:07
Allan would do well in midfield.

2.) 14 Jul 2020 21:53:16
Where would you play Richarlison dazza?
You’ve got a new striker and a right sided midfielder where does that leave Richarlison?

3.) 15 Jul 2020 07:08:24
Richy at left wing. His normal position.

4.) 15 Jul 2020 11:43:12
Sell Ricky always only half bothered.

5.) 15 Jul 2020 14:09:30
Sell Richy and we lose the only player we have who can turn a game in a moment. We need to keep the few top players we have, integrate the best youngsters and purchase 3 or 4 key players to bolster those positions where we lack in quality - primary central midfield.

6.) 15 Jul 2020 14:11:57
That's twice as bothered as the 4 behind him in midfield we need his determination.

7.) 15 Jul 2020 17:07:07
We can pick and choose all the players we like but the harsh reality is that most are simply not good enough, massive job for Carlo.

8.) 15 Jul 2020 20:48:18
I'd like to see Richarlison back in midfield. Play Moise up front with DCL. Anything to get our sub standard midfielders out of the team.

9.) 15 Jul 2020 23:33:38
Richarlison doesn't track back well. Sure he might physically do the running, but he's a liability for a card or free kick just outside the box anytime he comes back for a tackle.
Keep him up front and focus on entirely new midfield to support Richy/ DCL in my opinion.

10.) 16 Jul 2020 08:14:02
Surely right now the way it’s going it’s better to have someone who tracks back and might get a card in a tackle then someone who walks and doesn’t make a tackle. Gordon on the left richi on the right and kean upfront to add some pace to dcl is better then the stagnant rubbish this midfield has produced for most of the season.

11.) 16 Jul 2020 14:09:41
Your statement that Richy doesn't track back is complete unfounded. Here are his Defensive stats for this season where he has played CF for the majority of it:

Defence
Tackles: 66
Blocked shots: 22
Interceptions: 11
Clearances: 39
Headed Clearance: 28.

burnley in for niasse on loan.

dazza1974

1.) 31 Jan 2020 11:39:45
Fingers crossed.

2.) 31 Jan 2020 11:59:49
Whoop whoop please come true.

3.) 31 Jan 2020 12:07:07
burnley watch you tube vids, then decide against it,

4.) 31 Jan 2020 13:02:52
Could he be the mystery player who wouldn’t goto Sheffield Utd?

5.) 31 Jan 2020 14:06:01
Why would either team be interested in him?

6.) 31 Jan 2020 14:23:37
Burnley have denied it it’s not happening.

7.) 31 Jan 2020 18:37:21
Not being funny, but Wood, Barnes amd Rodriguez are all well better than Niasse, Burnley aren't stupid.

8.) 01 Feb 2020 09:40:20
It's not just Niasse. the problem is we have panic bought many players who just have kept our squad bang average. We have bought and sold or even just released so many players who are now in Th Championship or are at lesser clubs than ours doing an average job. Then we have replaced those players with other average players and agin replaced them. We used to buy young up and coming players. bring them through slowly. Then spend big on quality. Now we seem to spend between £10 and £50 million on average players and then bring a new manager in who recognises the limitations of the player so and gets his own in. We end up with a huge squad and players out on loan or waiting for their contracts to run down and unable to sign new players because of it.

31 Dec 2019 07:31:35
£50 million for calvert-lewin, i would snap uniteds arms off, bull crap news as usual.

dazza1974

{Ed025's Note - i would keep him dazza, put in perspective the likes of iwobi for £40m and they will have to pay a lot more than that mate...but yeah fake news..

1.) 31 Dec 2019 08:50:31
No way will we sell him you can see already how this lad is changing under C A, will be a Top striker very soon would be lunacy to sell him.

2.) 31 Dec 2019 12:22:46
And then what we spend it on someone like Iwobi or Sigurdson? If we have a player doing well then we should keep him. It's tgat simple.

3.) 31 Dec 2019 12:52:51
We have had 3years struggling without a goalscorer. someone starts scoring then sell again? Wout of interest wouldn't it have been cheaper to keep Lukaku run his contract down and finish 7th each of last 3years with european football and all that?

4.) 31 Dec 2019 13:49:25
Are you crazy?! We've been crying out for a top centre forward since Lukaku and now you want to sell the one we have capable of scoring goals!

Utter Madness! There's much more to football than just making money.

{Ed025's Note - im with you john..

5.) 31 Dec 2019 15:00:36
Dazza! The way DCL is playing at the moment and you would jump at Utd's offer, is that right? Where are you going to get his equivalent for £50 mill.

6.) 31 Dec 2019 15:28:31
bit of a daft post in my opinion.

7.) 31 Dec 2019 16:31:37
According to Sky Sports we have begun contract negotiations with Calvert-Lewin.

8.) 31 Dec 2019 17:07:20
I think it's a canny agent after payrise.

9.) 31 Dec 2019 17:19:41
Think he warrants a pay rise currently only on £20k per week
When you compare that to
Niasse on £55k
Tosun on £60
And Schneiderlin on £100k!

10.) 31 Dec 2019 18:53:17
Silly season begun again, work under Ancelotti or what's his name managing manure, I'd guess dcl is a sensible lad and we will see him for a few years yet here.

11.) 31 Dec 2019 21:44:48
Bad times to be a sports journalists. Any moron seems to be able to get a tweet published on NSNO.

12.) 02 Jan 2020 16:05:00
I agree, not been a fan of Calvert-Lewin but have to admit he is starting to show his potential and happy to eat humble pie.

Missed opportunity yesterday with Citys rocky defence, we just did not get enough balls in their final third, to play to Dom’s strength.

08 Aug 2019 17:05:39
iwobi still possible.

dazza1974

1.) 08 Aug 2019 17:24:01
Not quite egg on face but does indeed look like RW in the shape of Iwobi. The CB's are where the worry still lies unless a cb is on a deal sheet. As a lad said on talksport, Mina not only has mistakes in him but the temp has to be over 22 celcius.

26 Jul 2020 17:40:46
we are sssssssooooooo!

dazza1974

1.) 26 Jul 2020 18:11:07
Crap! If we don't get in some quality players we will be fighting relegation next season. We are devoid of ideas, passion, quality, speed, or anything that will pursued me that we will finish anywhere near the top six next season.

13 Jul 2020 20:31:07
liverpool, man city, chelsea, man utd, arsenal, spurs will spend the cash next season, even newcastle if they sell up, then you got the improving teams, leicester, wolves, so then that leaves us best of the rest, so 10th-12th in the league next season is where i see us unles we have a good transfer window then maybe 7-9,we will NOT be challenging european football for a long time unless usmanov decides to join his pal.

dazza1974

1.) 13 Jul 2020 21:48:08
Sorry dazza don’t think money is the issue, it’s the complete lack of commitment and effort from the majority of our players.

Reckon we could recruit more committed players who are willing to put a shift in by looking in the championship.

Not sure why everyone obsessed with spending millions on players - it hasn’t worked for us before.

We should buy some young and hungry players who want to prove themselves rather than these over inflated prima donnas on massive contracts and ridiculous transfer fees.

12 Jul 2020 13:43:23
now is the time for these players to show if there worthy to wear the shirt over the next 3 games, can't see many there.
