Apparently we are now getting A Lennon on a season long loan. WTF.

I hope this is because we are bringing a big name in later.

This is ideal. Like the Barry situation. Means we pay his wage but not a transfer fee and if it works out we can sign him on a free transfer next year.

Also plenty more rumours on Lamela and Lennon both coming, these rumours are getting stronger by the hour.

Hello everyone, and all ed's, not been on here for a while, I just want to say how refreshing it is to be linked and have the financial clout to be able to attract quality players for once, we have been on a shoestring budget for so many years now and have been so envious of them across the park always having the financial backing, but at long last its our time and boy do us evertonians deserve this, the next few years are going to put us on the map bigtime, we just have to be patient but we will become one of the best. Moshiri, Rk and Sw are going to put us back where we belong. the jigsaw is being put together very nicely. Remember deadline days linked with barry horne and dean saunders when they were about 103 years of age. let's enjoy the ride fellow blues. Great times ahead.

I think we should go all out for gourcuff, his record when he's on the pitch is fantastic, he has all the accolades and can certainly compete with ross for the no 10 slot, We could get him on a year deal or even a 3/4 month deal until january and then go back in for yarmelenko. Its an option and one worth a gamble on, this lad is class, yes injury prone but if fit will balance our team immensely, that would be a tasty attacking team.

Well folks I don't get all this negativity, yes we all want high profile players coming in but look at other clubs, where are the marquee signings. Nowhere really.

Henen, holgate, rodriguez, mori, lennon, cleverley, delefou.

Im sure we can manage ok with these additions and the current squad and we can play 2 wingers if martinez wants or use kev mirrales or g delefou as a number 10 aswell.
We must still have cash and think we only wanted yarmelenko and have left it too late to get a marquee signing but i'm sure this will happen in January.

At least now we have some depth to the squad and some promising youngsters and obviously keeping stones was a major plus.

Problem is 3 of those mentioned won't feature for 1st team apart from few cameos cleverly is injured for 2 months min our new cd Mori will be on bench until someone picks up an injury and Lennon well it is a good purchase and he does work hard but end of day we have bought a player from a team we should be competing against come end of season and he can't get in there squad, sorry to be negative but our problems are the same as they were before window opened but I do like the squad we have and I do think we can finish high up table but only if we play to our strengths

He contributes well to our squad, he doesn't to Tottenham's. It's that simple. The amazing thing about Lennon is that he doesn't just add energy down that high right hand side, he seems to add energy all over the pitch. He is no world beater, we know that but the difference he made when he joined last year is enough to justify spending 4m on him. Barkley/Naismith/Clevery/ Mirallas can play number 10, so I don't think its as problematic as people make out. Yes it would have been good to get yarmalenko but it didn't happen so everyone. pick your dummy up. Not everything goes to plan in the transfer window, not just for us! We have kept hold of players that Bayern/Chelsea/PSG/Tottenham were after with other teams like Utd and city being touted with our players, have the other teams whos transfer business everton fans seem to be worried about, like west ham!? Problems for me last season: no adequate competition or cover for the 2 CBs, like of speed in our passing game, but the one that stood out for me, was our wing play and we have brought in lennon and del boy to improve our pace penetration and width. not too mention getting rid of a couple of bad performers. So. why the long face?

Lennon 4mill a good addition, this must mean mirallas or delofeu as a cover for no 10 role if ross gets injured or goes off form. Unless we get a late move but can't see it. Apparantly we have until 8pm to declare a signing as long as a pre agreement was agreed before 6pm.

8 mill for naysmith turned down, think we should of taken this and added the difference to sign charlie austin.

Any thoughts ed?
