Hearing that were in for Breel Embolo on deadline day. Steep price of 14 mil for an 18 year old but he can play striker and CAM and looks to have great potential. He would be a first team player as well. We have been linked with him before so it could just be nonsense as most links are with us but you never know this could have some legs to it.

Seen that on a few pages

I'm reading that we aren't out of the running from blazikovysky or however it's spelled from Dortmund yet, but that we have ground to make up on fiorentina. I think he'd be a solid signing just hope e could stay healthy.

Polish reports, within the last half hour, claim that the deal with Fiorentina is practically done. The player has also stated that he is leaving the club on his FB fan page.

Yarmolenko has just announced that despite talks between our two clubs he will play this year with Kiev and will move on a free next summer. On to new targets now hopefully.

John stones flee's home and living in a hotel because of angry Everton fans!! We have a right to be pissed off with anyone that puts s transfer request in, after signing a new deal less than 12 months ago. We were good enough when no-one else wanted him. But there is a line that shouldn't be crossed, although this report is in the sun newspaper apparently so I don't believe 1 word out of it anyway.

{Ed025's Note - the scum newspaper should never be read by any fan kel, but if its true then shame on them..

2.) 28 Aug 2015 04:54:09
Though I believe a move in winter would still be a possibility.

3.) 28 Aug 2015 07:18:28
Mad the way they are not cashing in on him, must have money to burn

4.) 28 Aug 2015 07:44:56
Can you see the Kiev board being happy about that, getting nothing for their star?
Wouldn't surprise me if they try to resurrect the deal to get some money in for him rather than nothing next year

{Ed025's Note - hes a cult hero there ST and they would face the wrath of the fans, but your right mate..

5.) 28 Aug 2015 08:22:19
A lot of fans want him to go as they think he deserves his chance plus he agreed a 1 year deal so they get some money for him

The manager of river plate Montevideo has apparently announced that we are signing their striker Leandro Rodriguez. First I've heard of it and I don't know anything about him but a signing is a signing. Anyone else heard this?

Toffee_Lee12

1.) 21 Aug 2015 22:41:40
He's signed for Everton in chile not us

12 Aug 2015 19:50:23
Nolito has now said he will not leave his club unless it's for Barcelona so we can cross him off of our list of targets. Shame really, I quite perfered him to some of the other names we have been linked with.

We can't pay massive wages, we can't offer Champions League football, we can't offer the apparent attraction of a London-based club, or (and I hate to concede this) we don't have the attraction and reputation and glamour of some clubs who are known worldwide.
Bloody hell - how do we ever attract any decent players?! ;-)

2.) 12 Aug 2015 22:16:23
Rely on the spin from Martinez

3.) 12 Aug 2015 22:41:36
To be fair he said that money was not an object for him. Sounds like loyalty more than anything in this case but that's no excuse for our lack of general transfer activity.

I'm frightened to see what some of your responses will be to our formation for today. Three center backs. three at the back anyone??

When he winter window opens and QPR are mid table in the championship I'd go for a cheeky 7 mil bid for Austin again. I love Rom but some games like Saturday we just need someone who can finish clinically and that is Austin.

I've just had a thought, remember all of that nonsense when stoke were trying to sign yarmolenko about Kiev telling them that they weren't a good enough club. well what if they are waiting to see how we do against city tomorrow to see if we are "a good enough club" before agreeing to sell. I think it's absurd that they would block a move that both the player and other club want simply because they think their player could do better despite the money being there but you know. Ukrainians.

Just interested to see some other opinions, if we could have one of Austin and Berahino who would you pick. Personally I would have Berahino because he is fast like Rom, maybe faster and that has proven lukaku's best asset for us. Given that I feel he would fit our playing style better. Anyone else?

Toffee_Lee12

1.) 18 Aug 2015 11:45:35
Would depend on how much both for? Austin has had a good season in prem and I think berahino is still potential and more of a gamble.

2.) 18 Aug 2015 16:24:41
Berahino would cost 10m more and isn't an out and out striker. Austin for me.

Honestly I don't see what the issue with Holgate is, he looks a very promising talent and we've beaten the likes of United, Newcastle, and others to his signature. If he turns out to be anything like stones (who by the way cost less than this lad) the 1 mil will be well spent. Would u rather we not have signed him. Signing him really should not have any bearing on our other signings, as there could be no way he is ready to play in the prem this year. We still need to sign our three players as Martinez has said but signing him this week is better than signing no one this week. We've still got two and a half weeks and I seem to remember one day two seasons ago where we signed three very good players in just one day (lukaku, McCarthy, and Barry). I am frustrated just as everyone else is at the slow pace of the transfers and the poor play on the field but Holgate looks to be a good signing for me.

Franco di Santo is also starting for Schalke now in the Bundesliga. He has improved drastically since he left Wigan.

I'd forgotten about him but he'd defiantly be worth a punt especially with cleverly out for two months. His wage demands couldn't be out of our range and we would still have transfer money to spend in the winter.

Why would we just get rid of Naismith to sign Defoe. Hardly an upgrade, his best years are behind him.

Fair enough Ed, all our own opinions. But I think one thing we can agree on is that he won't be signing tomorrow either way.

Disagree, with that. The berahino debacle is far worse for the baggies then stones for us. Stones is going to keep playing for us and the issue has now been resolved and put to bed. Berahino is furious with west brom for not selling and tweeted a cryptic message about sitting the season out. That's a right mess, and puts the stones saga into a bit of perspective for me.

Some people are just disrespectful mate. I love Barkley but to suggest he is too good for the club after the season he had last year. ? Either way I can't see him leaving anytime soon mostly because I don't believe that he wants to.

I don't really see him as a number ten but he would do it for me as a striker.

On another note, I was in holland today watching Southampton cruise past vitesse. They look ready for the season to begin.
