Psv confirm Brands is joining Everton, looking like an exciting summer! COYB.

1.) 16 May 2018 15:42:04
Yep. I was going to say. In was surprised at earlier rumours that he wouldn't confirm for a " few weeks" that didn't sound plausible. Good times. Feels a big step to erasing the last year. COYB.

2.) 16 May 2018 15:45:11
I know what you mean I'm already a much happier supporter the only problem is trying not to get carried away after what happened last summer.

3.) 16 May 2018 16:20:48
Come on Bluey. Why is always on or off hot or cold. As fans we all need to be a little less bipolar.
You can enjoy this.

4.) 16 May 2018 16:42:55
Too right great to see at last.

5.) 16 May 2018 17:30:38
Sam has gone, we can move on. No need now for cudda, wudda, shudda. He's history, as is Koeman, Martinez, Moyes et al.

Brands is the big positive. He now has time to see who he and the club can appoint in the "Head Coach" role. Then a team around him can take the club forward over the next 5 years. If we are having this conversation again before that then we are in danger of becoming Sunderland.

Personally, now Brands is in, I would like to see if we could also get Cocu from PSV. Just won their league, plays attacking football and could attract players like Lozano, De Vrij and the lad Jahanbaksh from AZ67.

Not convinced with Silva, doesn't stay long after initial impact and his win rate not very good.

Exciting 12 weeks ahead. Add to an ok squad with quality and weed out the bluffers and hangers on.

6.) 16 May 2018 17:42:47
No, i agree with BLUE79. We can't just forget what a bad season last season was and that we need some massive changes.

Yes, Brands is a great start and to get him in early is vital. But i remember being in the same position last year when we got Koeman and Walsh in. No one is telling me that they weren't excited. Koeman for his value in world football and how well he did at Saints and then Walsh winning the league with Leicester. Look how that turned out.

I am as positive as they come but maybe the fact we all expected so much last summer, coupled with the bad start, made things worse.

There are still a lot of weeds that need digging out of the club. Getting the right manager in is massive for us. I don't want to be getting another manager in, in the next 12 months. It makes the club look shiteeeeee.

God knows who we are going to get, I think most out there, that we can actually bring in are risks.

Its great to see changes being made, but i think it would be better to not get all hyped up again, until we start seeing changes transferred on to the pitch.

Up the blues.

Everton continue to ruin the weekend, jesus I love the club but the football we are playing is not good enough we’re so predictable to play against besides from Richarlison and maybe Bernard or Lookman at times we have nobody who can take on players and beat them. I honestly don’t think we have the players we are a very averag team and we need to sign a striker because Richarlison is anonymous up front, that result today is heartbreaking we made Southampton look good today. I will always support Everton but for go sake BIG improvements are needed.

Toffee16

{Ed0333's Note - I honestly think you need a new spine. Keeper, domineering central midfielder and a front man. I’d even say a Centre half. Silva is being found out and I’m not sure he is the messiah maybe just a very naughty boy.

1.) 19 Jan 2019 17:17:27
ED0333 or any of the Ed's in the know or an inkling. Do any of you know on what evidence or advice Silva was hired, was it a pre-requisite of getting Brands (I. E. Silva was his choice) . This is his third Club in the Premiership, he does not appear to have the consistencey or stamina beyond 6 months.

{Ed001's Note - Moshiri was advised to get Silva, not sure on what grounds because he had shown nothing to suggest he is a good choice, but then this is the club who have promoted Brands despite his recruitment so far being awful.}

2.) 19 Jan 2019 17:20:48
I thing we need a decent manager and not a proven failure in Silva. The players are getting worse under him and his coaches.

{Ed0333's Note - I think he’ll be gone in the summer.

3.) 19 Jan 2019 17:59:00
I hate to say Ed0333 but if things don't improve drastically you may be right.

{Ed0333's Note - it’s a real shame because a strong Everton team is
A real boost for the city. I do fear for Silva as Moshiri is a bit no nonsense and won’t think too long about issuing Silva his P45 I’f results don’t improve

4.) 19 Jan 2019 18:02:05
Without wishing to be knee jerk, why wait until Summer. As others have said, we cannot go down. Silva will not improve us that is patently evident and should be to even the most ardent of those desperate not to be proven wrong. Bring Unsy in again, he will bring in a couple of the U23's, try a different pattern. With Brands directing all things football at the Club, this will give him time to send out his feelers and scouts, instead of rushing around in the Summer Window. Benitez for me should be top of the list.

{Ed0333's Note - I endorsed the appointment of Benitez after Fat Scam got the chop I agree with you mate Rafa would be a wonderful appointment for Everton. No chance you’ll get him mid season tho.

5.) 19 Jan 2019 21:46:38
Not sure what any manager could do, there’s a desease running through Goodison, we have gone through, Martinez, Koeman, Unsworth, big Sam, and now Silva, not one of those can get a tune out of our squad.

Sign a centre forward, put Richarlison back on the left, Lookman on the right and scrap the zonal marking is a start, rest Gomes or Siggerson, and bring McCarthy in for the cup game.

If Silva does not bring a striker in before the summer, it could be too late by then.

Have backed Silva, but he needs to kick his plan b in, stop picking players who are not doing it on the pitch, play Calvert Lewin in the middle, if we cannot land a striker.

Silva knows he has to do something and quick, getting a striker in, and putting McCarthy in the middle is a start.

Just wondering does anybody know chances of getting tickets for the derby around the city at the weekend flying over from Dublin Saturday morning, found tickets on Fanpass for the main stand 165 pound each should I buy them or chance getting better around the city? Any help will be appreciated! COYB.

Probs have a decent chance getting up the ground early, normally be able to pick one up from a last minute no show from a family or friend member, be sure not to show of your club colours to stand a better chance of grabbing one, may help if you use the phrase, any spares mate, served me well in the eighties at Wembley and the Derbies. Just have to be patient and keep asking.

2.) 26 Nov 2018 11:51:37
Sure to be a few touts as well, big tip the closer it gets to kick off, the better bargaining you have with the touts, unsold tickets are a loss to them so will drop their price.

3.) 26 Nov 2018 13:33:17
Cheers Bignev, any idea on a good price to start at?

4.) 26 Nov 2018 14:40:21
Depends will get some decent fans who will chargeface value the odd one will try and make a profit but in general I would say slightly higher than cost at most, some touts will be looking over double, best suggestion I would make is head for the big car park in Stanley Park, people parking up or heading over from the coach park sometimes have a spare.

Chances are it will be for the Liverpool end so best not to have Everton colours on full show if you want a ticket, if need be swallow your pride and if they say which team say Liverpool, then say three Hail Marys afterwards.

5.) 26 Nov 2018 14:43:01
Regardless of what you hear, there arse some decent Reds who will see you right for any spare ticket they may have, just be patient and just say any spares mate to any fan walking the ground. Will get a few sorry mate no, be patient andone might show up.

6.) 26 Nov 2018 20:00:38
i got one outside last year for 80 quid mate.

Heading over at the weekend to the game first time I've been over now in 2 or 3 years. I'm just wondering do the players still park their cars behind Park End and sign autographs etc on the way in? And anywhere nice to go for a pint and a bite to eat before the game.
4-1 to us! COYB!

After been offered tickets for the Merseyside Derby going over with a few mates only problem is they’re all kopites so I’m going to be stuck in the middle of all the reds just wondering has anyone here done this before and should it be okay?

1.) 04 Oct 2018 11:12:18
You'll be fine, if it looks like we're on for a hiding do a back door boogie so you don't get the pi$$ taken out of you.

2.) 04 Oct 2018 11:20:12
yeah its fine mate, not as bad as everyone says it will be (yeno the usual thrown out etc etc) just don't do anything stupid and its fine.

3.) 04 Oct 2018 12:03:32
Did it one time only in 1966 think it was 0-0, never again, nightmare.

4.) 04 Oct 2018 12:06:26
Cheers boys, also wondering about the home games it’s been about 2 years since I’ve got over to the Grand Old Lady do the players still drive to the grounds and sign autographs get pictures on the way in? Going over to the Crystal Palace game on the 21st.

5.) 04 Oct 2018 20:07:56
If your mates are good mates they will look after you. I have been to many derbies and stood on the Kop with all the kopites. Never had trouble. We are the only two clubs who can stand next to each other without a punch up. As wb says don't do anything daft, but certainly jump up and down when we get the winner and then duck lol.

6.) 04 Oct 2018 22:31:24
There only want you to go so they can take the piss when they beat us easily again.

29 Aug 2018 18:52:41
Looks like Lookman is leaving after not even making the bench tonight. Find it a bit weird not giving Bernard a run out. Anyways predicting a 3-1 win Calvert
Lewin, Siggy and Davies all to score. COYB!

3.) 30 Aug 2018 23:23:18

What about Coleman for Captain he seemed very passionate on the pitch through the preseason games not afraid to be heard and at a nice age to take on a big responsibility and will only improve him as a player.

Toffee16

{Ed001's Note - surely Williams is the new captain? He is an excellent captain, one of the best around.}
